The best part of Black Sails is that they put in the effort to actually pull off these epic shots and don't hide it with darkness or smoke like some other shows (which will remain nameless). This was possible my favorite episode of tv ever. It was spectacular.

What a fucking legend of an episode. The exchanges between Flynt and Silver were so chilling: to me, together they're a glorious rivalry of partners, of friends, of enemies. It's such an adventure to watch them... an adventure that we know must end soon.

I swear I have to keep rewatching these videos so I can appreciate everyone's individual reaction to all the awesomeness that's happening. I'm so happy you guys love this show as much as I thought you would, it's legitimately my favourite show ever made. The only real tragedy is that while this was created as a prequel to Treasure Island there's now no version of Treasure Island worthy enough to succeed it. We're in the home stretch now. You won't be remotely ready for what's coming.

I Love how Flint looks at Hornigold, not with contempt or malice--as one would expect from another show or movie--but more like he's reflecting on Hornigold's entire life with an appreciation for all his complexities, inconsistencies, faults, virtues, past triumphs, past failures and the external factors that led them both to that very moment.

Man you can not believe how in awe I was of this episode, it was great to begin with with great shots, character interactions like flint and silver (with them talking and the battle showing in between) or Blackbeard and jack , but man once silver revealed dobbs led the English where he told him and the natives and our crew coming out of the ground till the end this turned into perfection, definitely one of the best episodes of anything I’ve seen in my life. I admit I shed a tear after the episode ended because I found it to be so great

i love how many background/side characters actually get badass moments in this show, like the random pirate jumping the barrier to try to fire the hidden cannon, no idea who is was but im surprised he got as far as he did with stones as heavy as that

The way I understand it, John the Giant was just one possible nickname they were throwing out there. Like, "Okay here's an idea for a story...he's known as John the Giant, he's 7 feet tall and..." so forth and so on. They scrapped that option for a better one, imo ;)

I agree with Rick; Long John Silver is one of the best live action characters ever because his character arc is god damn amazing. Fans of The Blindwave have often criticized Rick for not liking live action which feels unfair. Their "Better Call Saul", "Breaking Bad", "The Expanse", the first four seasons of "GoT" he reacted to, and "Black Sails" reactions show Rick likes live action when it's really, really good live action.

@@hp5203 Well, the reason Sansa didn't tell Jon about the Knights of the Vale is because she can't trust Littlefinger, since he sold her to the Boltons promising Stannis will save her, but that didn't happen, and well, Jon just lost his brother, I don't think anybody would be thibking rationaly after that, and yeah, I agree GoT isn't as good as it used to be, and I think it's because they no longer have the books to go off of, and I think they did an amazing job interpreting the first 2 books (the only ones I've read) and then they ran out of material in season 5-ish

I saw battle of the bastards and this at this episode at the same day. First I watched the battle of the bastards and I thought it was great, then I watched this black sails episode and I forgot everything about the battle of the bastards. This black sails battle made me feel more the epicness and it was intense and made my adrenaline increase and I re-watched it so many times.

I found Black Sails to be overrated, cause everyone I saw talking about it was like "best show ever" and I was dissapointed. However I have to say this two last episodes of season 3 were great, and the closest they ever get me to think this show was phenomenal.

I tune it out too but the difference to me is that I don't think I have ever read someone writing about Black Sails and not saying it's amazing. The only thing that I've read that was not amazing was season 1, I personally really liked season 1 more than season 2, not sure if more or less than 3 and 4. Everything I've read about this show is only saying that it is amazing, while on the other shows I also read that isn't amazing. What I'm trying to say is that this show doesn't seem to have viewers who think it's not fantastic. While I personally thought was a good show just not fantastic.

I'm currently watching it. Have seen the first 3 of season 2 and so far as is good as season 1, which I think I found slightly less better than everyone else cause I already knew the 2 biggest twists.
