Has anyone noticed how this is the same movie as Captain America: The Winter Soldier? In both films the hero is on the run from the government, fighting against a cool villain skilled in hand to hand combat only for it to be revealed, that said villain is someone from the hero's past and the hero doesn't actually want to kill him/her and in both movies, this villain is under a form of mind control. Also, the main bad guy is an old guy in a suit who is leading a top secret evil organization which is trying to rule the world. In both movies the final fight is in a sky base and in both movies the sky base falls down. Also both movies have captain america like character and Black Widow. Like come on, they tried to sell us the same movies twice (and I personally saw Black Widow in a cinema yesterday and I loved it) and we fell for it.

Well, at the end of this movie Yelena gives her the pocketed vest that she wore in Infinity War. Meaning: she wasn’t as resilient to danger AFTER switching to the vest. She traded her plot armour (like in the MK Pitch Meeting) for the style that the vest had.

I really don't get why they didn't switch the release date of this and Captain Marvel. She didn't need an origin story before Endgame because she was barely in it. Introduce Captain Marvel with some mystery and then have her movie afterwards. Then you could have Natasha's movie come out to get us more invested in her character before Endgame. It makes me worry about the MCU because you can say what you want about the movie quality, but the order of the releases used to always make decent sense. Feels like they don't have as solid of a plan as they did through Endgame.

@@OnMyMindEntertainment Tbh, I think in a vacuum the role of taskmaster in this film is actually quite fitting for MCU Natasha, plus they made it out alive meaning we could see more of her down the road - perhaps as an anti-hero? The problem though is 'in a vacuum', because when most of the audience is already invested in a very different interpretation of the character, you're going to need to find a way to top that which this film certainly didn't. I've seen this theory thrown around quite a bit over the past few days but imagine if instead the 'Taskmaster' character went under a different name and had been based on stolen super-adaptoid technology used to keep Drakov's daughter alive and give her Taskmaster-like abilties. I'm sure people would've loved that, and it goes to show how import respecting the audience's prior knowledge and expectations are when it comes to writing these films.

My big gripe with this movie, n it is a recurring theme in marvel movies, is making jokes in what should be emotional movies. That and the fact that the movie had a fast and furious feel, a lot of plot armour. Also, lil bit too much action, y would yelena send natasha a message, then want to fight with her? I also give it a 6.5. Had no problem with taskmaster, or the vest, or that yelena took over. I wanted her to take over, loved her

This is a small suggestion. For the guy in white with the hat (0:56) see if you can find another camera angle that shows more of his face and body from a person's point-of-view rather than a 4-year-old's POV. I say this because, from the way he, in particular, is shot, it looks like the guy looking at him (via the camera) is lying on the ground. In the movies, such shots are usually used to showcase a power difference between two entities but here that's not required as it seems more like a conversation between people than something to show anything. It's just a small suggestion that I feel could improve the current setup but in other aspects, the video looks good. Keep it up, Mike!!

@@OnMyMindEntertainment I think we got a decent start for Taskmaster though. She played her role as the antagonist's nearly unbeatable threat fairly well. Like the original comic Taskmaster was a total joke of an 80's villain who's ability had no explanation whatsoever and didn't really get popular until 20+ years later. It wasn't until around Civil War and Deadpool's increased popularity that Marvel made him more than that villain that 'normal' heroes are somewhat threatened by but no one with actual superpowers really needs to worry about. Plus it sets up for the obvious Thunderbolts movie they're leading towards. I mean, we have Zemo, Yelena, Walker, Taskmaster, and Abomination's recent cameo in the Shang Chi trailer. Which goes well with the Young Avengers they seem to be setting up with the upcoming additions of She-Hulk, America Chavez, Kate Bishop, more Spider-Man, Squirrel Girl, and Ms. Marvel. Also Yelena was probably the greatest. The commentary on the action posing alone made me like her.

I think this rates higher than a 6.5, but I get where you're coming from. If this came out in-between Civil War and Infinity War, I think it would hit a lot harder (good job of Ryan George to point that out, especially how the behind-the-scenes sexism prevented this movie from coming out when it should have)...I wonder how we all would have reacted to this in a world in which this fit into the linear timeline...I guarantee her death would have hit harder if we had seen this film before Endgame. I also agree that some of the action scenes weren't filmed as well as they could have been. Not to plug another channel, but a couple guys on a different review channel mentioned this -- the director seemed to be going for the hyper-active, super-tight Bourne look when it would have been better to just set the camera wide and let the action happen. It's not like Marvel can't afford the best stunt performers in the universe -- plant the camera, let them do their thing, and let the audience watch (guaranteed Shang-Chi was shot the way I'm suggesting). Sidenote: they showed a trailer for Snake Eyes prior to the screening I was at and I felt like it suffered from the same problem. If you're going to pay people thousands of dollars a day (I've worked on big productions, I have a sense of what some of these uncredited extras get) -- let them do their thing! If you're the director, your job is easier, the crew's job is easier, the extras are still getting paid -- just put down the camera! John Wick is beloved because we get to watch him fight without any fancy cuts or camera tricks -- "let them fight!"

I really don’t understand why people behind movies keep wanting to provide bullshit “origin stories” for their fucking clothing and accessories! Have they not seen Solo: A Star Wars story and how it tanked?!

Loved the Advance Screening. Glad you're doing more. Great acting and great editing on the thrown bag of chips.

Black Widow aka the movie that made me say "You know what, maybe I was too harsh on Captain Marvel". Just wow this movie was bland. It doesn't have enough learned about Natasha to be a good solo movie for her, it doesn't have enough screen-time for Yelena to work as an origin story for her being the new Black Widow, Red Guardian and Taskmaster were utterly wasted, the "He killed her real mother" "twist" was so utterly pointless that it makes the body swap in WW84 look well-integrated by comparison, and by god, the level of pure anime in that finale was ridiculous. Why is Natasha able to stand on the sides of buildings like a Kingdom Hearts character?

I love pitch meetings so much, like there if not a single pitch meeting I cannot literally recite from memory, and your advance screening was honestly better than this pitch meeting!!! Great job, I love those screenings, can't wait to see more of them!!!!!

This was the first marvel movie maybe the first movie ever I just got up and shut it off after 30 min. It sucks it kind of soured her character for me.

Was that a deawing you actually do @ about 6:15 or so, if so that looked really good Loved the whole sketch that you did you are getting really good at them The black widow movie would have been better if they showed black widow go on the mission where she met Clint Barton and he turned her while hunting her down and the movie ends with what ever actually happened at Budapest.

I don’t get why Marvel has a villain problems especially since they were doing a good job earlier and the comics exist
@OnMyMindEntertainment3 жыл бұрын
It really confuses me. They are always hit or miss with the villains.

I literally laughed out loud at the "we're gonna learn about what level of Fortnite they're in." Always glad to see you putting more of your own creativity into the videos. And apparently I'm not the only one to think "holy crap, Florence Pugh stole the show," even though that's not a sentence I thought I would ever think, say, or type.

LOL!!! It's fun doing these!! Yeah, I didn't think that's what they were doing this movie for, LOL!

For the most part I liked and enjoyed the movie but I really hated the slow-paced and emotionless Nirvana cover in the opening montage and it was really stupid how they made the VERY obviously male Taskmaster the girl that Natasha thought she killed. What? I hope Pitch Meeting addresses these topics (haven't started the video yet). Now gonna check out your "advance screening" lol. You do good work bro. A big fan.

Thanks Dave!!! Yeah, while I liked the opening scene of the movie, there were a lot of slow spots that dragged the film down a little too much.

"The child didn't really die, so morally we're all good" I mean, sure, why not... "What's the mission?" "Sign up for Disney+!" I think they got most if us with that objective already... Winter Soldier as a character > Taskmaster as a character. WS just destroying the SHIELD pilots was one of the most brutal things in Marvel.

Nice work on the sketch, sir. "Remember...remember...remember...?" Also, that chip eating at 5:55 is gold. Edit: Also, comparing the comic book Taskmaster to this Taskmaster is really sad. The dude in the comic is completely fantastic.

I really thought this was a movie about Romanov dealing with the Budapest mission aftermath. Or perhaps the mission itself in which Barton fights Romanov and then turns her to his side.

That would've been more interesting than this.

Really stoked to see your intro skit man. I like the Southern fellow...I have a similar character inside my brain...I've seen some folks trying to emulate Ryan Georges style but they are really lame whereas you have taken the concept and made an original thing out of it. Noice.
