Shanks just makes me think of John Hamm's character on 30 Rock. He is just so handsome and appealing that most of the time, people just give him things and do things for him without him needing to ask. Everybody loves him without having to do a thing.

With regard to the power scaling thing, it’s also worth noting that Kid was clearly unprepared for Shanks to fly across the ocean and body him right then and there. When he was fighting Big Mom and Kaido he was clearly ready for them to punch back. So it’s not just that Shanks’ attitude was better than BM/Kaido, but that Kid’s attitude was also worse than it was at any point during the raid.

Yeah, people being dumb and equating the two situations as the same are just... smh. Like, Kidd had gone all in on a long-range, wide damage attack so having a short range beat down just suddenly appear caught him completely off guard. It'd be heading into the last boss's dungeon and expecting mooks at the front gates only to have the boss drop in from above and just KO your team. Something like that is going to throw you for a loop, especially if you'd already gotten a holy spell ready to throw at the skeletons you thought you were about to face only to have the boss interrupt the cast time and... yeah. It's not about power level, it's about the situation and both side's understanding there-of.

It could very well be that Shanks started grinding his power levels after Blackbeard handed his ass to him. There was a time when they were pretty much equals on their respective ships and we only know that the scar happened pre-Luffy meeting, so could very well have been not long after Roger's death, when they were both still very young and not the powerhouses they are now. Hell, I'd say it's probably likely that Blackbeard at that time of life could have kicked Shanks around a bit.

My theory concerning York's plan to "become" a World Noble is that she's the one that came up with, or manipulated the other 'punks to come up with, the current hierarchy structure for Seraphim command (only the Gorosei can overrule Vegapunk's orders, and it HAS to be in person), in the express goal to lure a Gorosei to Egghead so she could transfer her consciouness into his body.

S-Snake definitely has humanity inside of her. Even Zoro made a statement saying that S-Hawk was more human than Mihawk. I think Oda is trying to relay to us that the seraphim will gain the power to control themselves later down the line. Picture Shanke and Mihawk engaged in combat, where they solely rely on their ability to see into the future to outdo each other. They stand their ground and shift in and out of future sight until they eventually become fatigued and decide to call it a draw. This was the battle that Whitebeard had alluded to, as he too possessed future sight and could perceive their movements even though they were motionless.

I think you hit the nail on the head regarding Shanks in the last video. He uses his future sight and sees sacrificing himself as the only option. Maybe some kind of call back to chapter 1 with Luffy. Just can't see him becoming the final boss or some kind of villain, yes he is crazy strong and scary now I suppose but ultimately he has a grand plan (something I think started when Roger came back from Laugh Tale, I think Shanks clearly knows what's up or has an inkling) and has no patience for people (Kid, Blackbeard et al) messing with it.

I think we would be, because Shanks is an entirely different beast than Kaido. Kaido also let Kidd live far longer than was wise. Luffy was just someone who was more aware of how he had to get stronger, and also had that ability to draw just the right Allie’s to his side so that he could actually get stronger in that specific way. There are some aspects of fate protecting Luffy at times, but Kidd lacks more than just the protection of fate compared to Luffy. If Kidd was the main character, he wouldn’t have a run in with Shanks at his power level, that would be the hand fate has the play.

I don't think there's a powerscaling issue. I think people keep thinking that the emperor's stats are all the same. Kaido - high attack max defense Big Mom - high special attack max defense Shanks - max attack (defensive stats unknown but if I had to guess I'd say he dodges/parries but if he gets hit he could be KO'd) Blackbeard - max special attack mid/low defense (only going based on older fights where he was getting hit and KO'd incap or in a lot of pain could have leveled up) The way I look at it they probably all had the same amount of stats but where they put them is very different. Both Big Mom and Kaido literally face tanked every attack sent at them (aside from like 1-2 dodges) they were so unconcerned with battle because they knew their durability was so high. I think Shanks is someone who ends fights in one hit. No Goku I'm gonna slowly build... just oh you wanna fight? ONE PUNCH! end which is why he has max attack

I really love the idea that the seraphim can take back control over their own minds even if they can't control their own body, but I feel like their is almost definitely a loop hole, like you said what if they can interpret the orders differently or at the very least can communicate with the strawhats that they don't want to do this and they might even tell the straw hats how to fight back against them and the s- snake could actually help the crew even if it's only once, but I feel like it's possible Blackbeard may try to kidnap s snake or take the green blood because he still wants Hancocks devil fruit and this would be a great opportunity to get it without messing with Hancock herself since she is still extremely dangerous

We do know that the Seraphim have not just the DNA, but also the fighting styles and to some extent the skills of the originals, but what else did they copy? Since the original Boa Hancock is in love with Luffy, perhaps S-Snake also has some form of attachment to him and by extension the Strawhats. Not enough to override her programming, but still enough to go as far as she can to help them.

Spot on about diff between Shanks and Kaido. Ifl Shanks shows what a Yonko could be capable of if they had Shanks's planning, temperament, skill and strategy. Usually BM and Kaido are prob used to just showing up and winning or whatever. Shanks is the complete package 💯 He even tells his crew not to underestimate growth of youth. Kaido and BM were constantly writing off members of Worst Gen and saying how they're kids playing pirates and brats that aren't ready. But not Chad Sigma Shanks. Shanks represents when physically powerful also have a strong and sharp mind. Truly dangerous combo 🥶

Maybe the reason S-snake is more human is because some parts of Boa’s emotion was taken when the lineage factor for the mero mero no mi was extracted. And this only happens to natural devil fruit users excluding kuma since he gave up his emotions.

I'm pretty sure Ace's mom died shortly after Ace's birth. But yeah her having a D in the name and being the woman Roger has fallen in love with makes her a potential character we need to know more about in some flashbacks. And it's weird that even if we have met several members of Roger's crew or people that have known him nobody has ever spoken about Roger and Rouge's relationship

I think the final members of the Straw Hats and Black Beard's crew will be a Vega Punk satellite. Black Beard gets York, Luffy gets Lilith. Every woman who has joined Straw Hats crew always came off as sketchy or shady at first so Lilith would be a good fit. Stussy and Boonie aren't Vega Punk satellites but one of them can join too.

The chapter made a point in that Kid's attack was "loading" for ten seconds so my best guess is that 10 seconds into the future is the scope of Shanks' observation haki. Also, the red hair pirates *DID* tell the kid pirates to hand over the poneglyphs before going into action.

Like when she's sheming w them and giving them orders, there seems to be no concern at all from them about going against other VP's.
