I was debating whether or not to clarify why he was reacting the way he did but I knew it'd get revealed soon so I decided to not say anything. If I was gonna say anything I'd have said "Coby's reaction of suddenly freaking out over all the deaths even if they're pointless seems odd for someone who's been at the war from the beginning. Perhaps there's more to it then just people pointlessly dying... hint hint." That would've been a proper way to raise suspicion without giving anything away. Either way its a very minor spoiler if that even qualifies.

Blackbeard's plan was genius, capture Ace and get Warlord title, free strong pirates in impeldown while the Navy is busy with the execution, show up at the last moment with a strong crew and take Whitebeard's devil fruit (he knew that a war will happened if he gives Ace to the the Marines because he knew Whitebeard's reaction, and that he was gonna die because of his age) you can hate this man, but he started from the bottom to become a very big name in the world.

he didnt plan it actually. He was going after Luffy and only turned in Ace after he refused to join his crew. Blackbeard is actually kind of an idiot. He was very lucky in impel Down to even survive. He didnt even use his Warlord position to gain any information about magellan devil fruit powers.

​@@Ockerlord 1. Teach did plan to leave the Whitebeard pirates once he would've gotten his hands on the Yami Yami no Mi, something he coveted for a long time. That's the first thing he planned that also proves that he's capable of binding his time to get what he wants in the end. He didn't plan on having to kill Thatch, or anyone else, for that matter, but it was just a detail, at that point. 2. After getting four people to be part of his newly created pirate crew (which is nothing hard for someone who has years of experience in the pirate world), he planned to hunt a famous enough prey to get the Shishibukai title, which would've then allowed him to break in Impel Down and free the strongest prisoners willing to follow. This was the second thing he planned except Luffy just happened to be the prey he set his eyes on, for plot development purposes. From this point, it was just one stroke of bad luck after another, as Luffy barely managed to get out of his grip in Jaya, thanks to the fact that the news of Crocodile's defeat at his hands and his new wanted poster took some time to reach Jaya, and to the fact that the Knock-up Stream launched the Going Merry right at the moment Blackbeard was going to attack Luffy, destroying his giant, raft-like boat and almost killing him, in the process. Luffy lucked out even more after that as he turned out to be the brother of the only person going after Blackbeard at the time, Ace, which gave the latter more incentive to stop Blackbeard on his tracks, allowing Luffy to escape once again, leaving him to deal with Water Seven, Enies Lobby and so forth. 3. This is when the decisive turning point happens: the series of strokes of bad luck Blackbeard was following, up until then, set him for a series of strokes of good luck after that (including his survival against Magellan, which powers must have been kept secret from the Shishibukai, as they wouldn't need to know and would be seen as even more suspicious for trying to know about them). The fact that Ace was too hot-headed to see the mess he was getting into allowed Blackbeard to think of a third plan that would go hand-in-hand with his second one, namely using Ace as bait for both the Marine and the Whitebeard, which would allow for an easier entrance in Marineford (allowing Laffitte to infiltrate the control room more easily, not that he really needed it) and Impel Down and release of certain inmates, which would, in return, facilitate the final part of his master plan: simply hiding and waiting for the Whitebeard Pirates and the Marine Headquarters to weaken/take each other out and for Whitebeard to be close to death, which was an easily predictable thing, given his age, health issues and personality, all of which Blackbeard was well aware of, and then absorbing his DF powers after finishing him off. By the way, Blackbeard, having been under the command of Ace for some time, must have known that Ace would never agree to betray Whitebeard, no matter what, and so him proposing that deal anyway was clearly to mess with Ace's head (since the deal is dumb, he would make Ace think that he's a bit stupid) and to rile him up even more, making him that much easier to beat. Conclusion: Whitebeard called Blackbeard "arrogant and thoughtless" while it was really Whitebeard's and Ace's fault for being absolute fools, the first one with his extreme paternalism and lack of discernment towards his own men (including Squard) and the second one for being too hot-headed and proud. So yeah, people can hate Blackbeard all they want, but calling him stupid is a proof of stupidity.

I also love how he's pretty much alike with Luffy. Just different in the sense that Luffy is an idealist and Blackbeard is a pragmatist. Other than that they are both pretty happy go lucky, bold to a fault, free spirited, open minded etc. When Shanks went on the Moby Dick, he saw Marco and was like: "Hey. You wanna join my crew?? (lol)". Luffy on Water7 asked their Mayor (Iceberg) nonchalantly if he wanted to join his crew. BB, too, when he met with Ace again on Banaro Island - first thing he said was asking Ace if he wanted to join his crew - like nothing happened :D Blackbeard isn't hateful or does things out of spite. He just does what he wants. If that rubs someone the wrong way...that sucks for them. And if they then want to take revenge/hate Blackbeard, he's cool with that. But he'd also get along with them and have a pie. Cuz..."why not?". He's like the exact opposite of someone like Akainu who's like: "I'm not gonna let DRAGON'S SON get away!" - which is very hateful and personal. Happy you put out a reaction again! Last time we saw Law he was at Sabaody, which is pretty close to Marineford. Also Law was initially introduced as the "surgeon of death", so we got a little hint that he was a doctor back then. Also Celestial Dragons don't live at Sabaody, they live in the Holyland Mariegeois. They come to Sabaody every now and then to buy slaves, but most of them stay in Mariegeois.

Crybaby Kaizoku! I didn't notice the audio issues, so you're fine. Don't forget, to the general populace, pirates are a robbing, murdering plague that they have to deal with, often times without immediate Navy assistance. For every benign pirate like Luffy (who is basically an adventurer who happens to wave a pirate flag and somehow get involved in major world events) you get ones who are relatively weak trash like Buggy (who can still wreck an average human being) and more vicious ones like Bellamy and Kidd. They believe in the government because they don't have any information to contradict the lies. Whitebeard is a big bad pirate and he's dead. That's what they believe, not understanding who he was and the larger complications that will happen because of his death. People like Sengoku and Garp have their hands tied because they are so close to the top, they clearly don't believe the same way Akainu does, but they can't just let pirates do whatever. They do their job to make a net positive on society. People like Smoker are lower on the food chain but with enough power to have a bit more freedom to follow their own justice which is why they could get away with letting Strawhat go back in Alabaster. It's a lot harder for Garp and Aokiji to act the same way, though they do. Blackbeard is the worst, but I have to admit his plan was amazing. He worked everything to his advantage and got what he wanted. Even if he is the grimiest. Talking all that trash, but was on his knees scared in front of a mostly dead Whitebeard. Crocodile was always my favorite villain, and here he's upholding his villainous code to the maximum. I also see that you've warmed up quite a bit to Hancock. When she was introduced the only person you seemed to dislike more is Akainu. I guess love can change people for the better if you let it. Anyway, I rambled way too much; One Piece tends to do that to me so I try to limit how much I go on about it. Props to the moderator for doing do diligence on how to watch the episodes. What's going on with Toby is something fascinating. Look, there are different haki types throughout one piece, one, which is observation, has different ways to be unlocked. Some people can see faraway, some can see with closen eyes, some can hear a drope of a tear from another room, and some can feel what others feel. This is Toby, he is unlocking haki and feeling what the people around him feels. Which in simpler terms, he is going through an amplified emotional process.
