Honestly, the passport is, without a doubt, THE best phone I have EVER owned. I've truly never had a more enjoyable experience in using a device. The multitasking is next gen, the CPU is fantastic, and pretty much everything else about it is absolutely outstanding. No other piece of technology has impressed me in the way that the Passport has. I genuinely love it

Have you tried using an iPhone or an Android-based device? You still think getting the BB passport is a great idea today? I'm asking since I'm thinking about buying this and I current use an iPhone 6 and I've used the Nexus 4. Hope you can provide some insights. Thanks.

+Paul Irineo Montano I use a Note 4 alongside my Passport, and I have owned an iPhone in the past, so I'm familiar with both. The Passport is much better for communication (email, messaging, calls, etc) than both iOS and Android, and the multitasking is pretty much unbeatable. However, the current Android runtime is still at 4.4, and completely lacks support for Google play services, which can give rise to a fair amount of issues in running Android apps. It genuinely all depends on how much you value having the Android ecosystem.

Blackberry has improved! I switched to the Z30 from the Iphone 5, 3 months ago. The 10.3.1 OS is fast and fluid! Love it. Just want them to grow. They deserve it...

I'm only 19 so I never actually lived the BlackBerry times while being old enough to need and properly use a smarphone, my first one was an iPhone 3G I got in 2011 and I never intended to leave Apple, mostly because I'm a huge fanboy since I got the 5 in 2013 and the 5s last year. Until now! I was planning to sell my 5s to get a 6 but now I'm really into the Classic and the Passport. BB really nailed it like it used to do 5 years ago! Thanks for the awesome video Mike, showing us everything we need and actually can be able to know about the Passport! I'm seriously considering getting one, even more after watching this video!

apparently this is saving them. thanks to John Chen blackberry went from losing 4.4 billion dollars per quarter in late 2013 to late 2014 where they were losing 148 million so what ever they are doing its working.

They've always had solid hardware to be fair, it's the software that's been their weak point for years. Their way to get around that is to emulate Android so it runs its apps. At which point you may as well just get an Android phone.

I am genuinely impressed by blackberry with what they did with the phone. No one hates but the small screen, so now hopefully thats fixed, the OS is really smooth and the keyboard features are pretty nice, the camera is not bad either not anything to brag about thou. I feel like they are slowly getting peoples interest back, maybe the next step should be getting an agreement to share google play store and its a win. As for me not just yet but if the next one has all these features polished i may reconsider.

I've seen a lot of this Blackberry Passport video reviews and to be quite honest your review is by farthest the best and most informative one. You're straight to the point, cut and dried. I truly appreciate your review. I've owned the Passport for the past month already and is an amazing device. I have small hands, but I have managed to work around the size of this device. Absolutely love it, no lags, about 3-4 options to download android apps into it, super snappy. Keep up on your great reviews, and thank you, again.

I'm the farthest thing from a business type person. But realistically the only thing I do with my phone is text and occasionally browse the internet. I'm considering this phone because I absolutely loathe texting on a screen and vastly prefer a tactile keyboard. While this phone isn't a media consumption and gaming center, my phone designed for that purpose isn't used as such either. If it can play youtube videos, text and go online I don't really need it to do much else. I don't see phones as any sort of a gaming platform, I reserve that to consoles, pc and handhelds, I might get this.

Probably the best I've ever owned. Sadly had to sell it due to my needs of apps. This phone & the OS gestures was way ahead of its time. If this was to release in 2023 with full android support, it's a no brainer for me.

Blackberry did a great job on the phone, even it is not the best, but it is definitely getting better to restore faith for BlackBerry users. I really like the concept of the keyboard. No other companies beat that.

I'm waiting my BlackBerry Passport, my second BlackBerry. The first one was the Storm, it die fast. This Passport probably will last for years, it was able to support a 20 feet drop test without a case... great build.

what an amazing review, I have been a big BlackBerry fan for a while, and from friends, they say the Passport is not a good phone, mainly cause not many people like BlackBerrys these days, but then I had another mate that just got one and he said it was a really awesome phone, it surprised him that he even loved a BlackBerry that much, I have had BlackBerrys many times even though they are for the heavy texters and business people, and I am nowhere near a good texter or a businessman, I just love BlackBerry's cause I love to use a keyboard, BlackBerrys look good, perform good and ect, so I have decided that my next phone will be this one, thanks for showing an amazing review

It also might have been good to add a little bit about the ability to snap android apps. You can install a ported version of the google play store (without the integrated Google services that are only on android) called snap. From there you can get all the android apps you'd ever want!

I never had a problem with any of my old Blackberries. In fact the still remain in good condition and run smoothly. Like the day I bought them. That being said they "were" very limited on apps. I see not anymore.

I like the look of this device. It's like a little computer. I'm sure many Blackberry fans will be happy with it. It would have been the perfect device for me a few years ago but I am currently using the Samsung Galaxy Note line. The square display would affect the video experience that I like using my phone and tablet for.

Great review. The Passport is not an easy phone to properly review because it takes a bit of time to get to know it. I've had many Android phones and they were great at entertaining me but offered little else of substance. I've never had an iPhone so don't know if they're radically different from Android phones or quite similar. In my mind, I imagine they're similar, but again, I don't know. I just got my Passport recently and I have to say it has been a wonderful experience so far. I actually have a device that helps me, not just entertains me. And the Passport does both! I'm not saying iPhones or Androids are bad, I just think I was ready for the Passport.
