It would've been incredibly lame to use regular Trunks and regular Silver, every vs show out there has already done that, everyone and their mother should know the result of that + the extent of what you can do with the animation. Much better and more more creative to use their strongest versions instead. Even in the games, Sonic super forms can at least last a few minutes lol. But regardless, Archie Sonic super forms can last several hours.

It was explained in an earlier Death Battle (Archie Sonic VS Wally West) that the Archie Super Forms last much longer than the games, potentially over an hour. This was due to the fact that Archie Sonic’s super form lasted from day until night.
