I think I really like everything about that Blackjack. The lines are awesome looking

It is one of my old videos when I started collecting hunting knives. Fallkniven NL5 has very tightly stacked leather of which surface is very smooth for an aesthetic reason and has little traction from its texture. And its handle in a cross section is completely oval all the way and has no traction from its contour. Fallkniven's leather handle has little traciton different from regular leather ones. In contrast Bark River's no textured handle has much traction only from its contour in reality.

First of all, let me say they are all great knives! Among all the profiles youve showed us I guess I like the second model better, the Idun swidish one! Really beautiful tools! Congratulations!!

There is an exception. The Trailguide knife was 1095 when I got it around 5 years ago. Thanks.

@rushmoreman5 The 102 has a 4 inch blade, and the 105 has a 5 inch blade. I even didn't know that. The both are made of 420HC and have hollow bevels and identical features. The 102 is good for me, but I already have Buck Vanguard and Backlite Max in Buck 4 inch knives. I already knew their edge performance. My self made edge on the Vanguard went very sharp and kept it at least for one deer. It was not bad. Next I will try my Backlite Max. And then I can go for the 102. Thanks.

thats the Damascus Cowry X version of the NL5. Same specifications appart from the steel used. Cowry X is the non-japanese version of ZDP 189, which is only manipulated in japan. Cowry X is an amazing steel, but is high priced especially when you laminate it and have it laminated with damascus (like the NL5cx)

You can see the handle quality difference for sure. Is it worth 100 dollars extra? Well you only use one knife or maybe 2 at a time. So I would go for the Fallkniven!

I like Nestling Cranes. Very much. Northern Weather, makes very good good steel. Higher carbon hammered in. I know very little of large blades. I know, there is a longer history.....

Most Wise Knife Man: Will you consider performing a review of two American knives? BUCK models 102 and 105. These knives are not expensive and have been popular with American hunters for several decades. Their blade shapes have not been upgraded but heat treating is reputed to be above average. Please consider sharing your wisdom about these two "classic" American hunting knives. Thank you for your consideration. Respectfully yours, Paul in USA

@UnseenSpirit I still keep the NL5 because of its beauty not because of its functionality. Its beautiful leather handle is too tightly stacked and too smooth and too thin, and as a result it is very slippery. There is nothing good other than the beauty. I don't recommend the NL5 whatsoever. I now love my TK2 and custom handled F1 very much. Thanks.

It must be Damascus. The regular one is around $250 or a bit more. Thanks.

The Bark River is looking a lot like a "randall style" knife...which is not bad at all.....Sad that Fällkniven made a too small loop for the sheath, ....specially for the astronomic price of their products.....Excellent, but.....
