Blackout at Mosaic Stadium

This reminds me of the preseason game in Green Bay, WI at Lambeau Field between my Packers and the Tennessee Titans on 28 August, 2003. The rain was horrible. Lightning was intense. All 71,000+ of us were ordered to shelter in the concourse below the stadium as the lightning was striking constantly around the stadium. After a 2hr 33min. storm delay, play resumed at 11:45pm. Game didn't end until 12:55am. This was after a 7pm kickoff! A night I'll never forget! Thanks for the video!

I remember watching this game. I think it's cool when you see the lightening hit then see the small electrical explosion in the background from what I would presume to be the power generators? And the stadium going dark. Would have been amazing to witness.

They were cheering because it was a strange and unusually unexpected circumstance. I mean, they didn't have backup lights and hadn't planned for the possibility of a blackout. On to my own thing I noted. You can see right after the flash of lightning the shining light in the distance, which I can only guess is the transformer actually exploding. THAT was a neat sight here. How long was power out? Obviously the game was postponed.

I Remeber This. Epic Day in Regina. since we couldnt watch the rest of the game. we had to listen to it to the radio. almost everyone did. the streets were quiet. Rider Nation!!
