Certainly has been Pal of my cradle days! I can remember hearing the Blackpool Tower Ballroom Wurlitzer from my childhood 60 years ago, then I believe Ernest Braodbent, followed by the current house organist Phil Kelsall since 1977! I remember thinking back then ,this guy will never last? How wrong can you be?

Thank you @Mike-kc8ri for your comment. It is good that you can admit to being wrong. Phil has certainly made his mark at Blackpool and the Thursford Christmas Spectacular. Keep enjoying the music. Best wishes

Thank you donberendt2871 for your lovely comment. I put some video clips together during the Covid lockdown and it has achieved over sixteen thousand views. I am pleased to write that things are back to normal now and the Blackpool Tower Ballroom is open again. You have made an old man happy with your comment, bless you Michael Parkinson

As children my parents also took a suite of rooms at the Imperial and they would come to afternoon tea dances at the Tower Ballroom followed by the Grand Theatre in the evening Blackpool was a magical place then and still is. It really is a wonderful place to come for a holiday. I have never understood why some people rush over to the continent when we have Blackpool.

Perhaps, it's a British understanding, however, being from the US, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "the continent." In any case, I'm amazed with the planet spinning above these dancers!

I watch this repeatedly, it is lovely to listen to the music and watch so many people enjoying themselves. Dancers, spectators, tea and cake customers. I hope , hope and hope that the Tower and Ballroom is open again and that my wife and I can be there again. If I was a judge I would give it ten, ten, ten and ten. Michael Parkinson

Thank you Don for your comment. Whilst it is great that you write that the dancers are Professionals of course they are not but look as though they are. The setting, floor and the brilliant playing of Phil Kelsall make it so easy for the dancers to show their expertise. It gives me great pleasure to read your appreciative comment. Best wishes Michael Parkinson

Thank you @unclelelouie3828 for your lovely comment 'Pal of my Cradle Days is a well loved song. My memory of it is dancing at a place called Calverton Miners Welfare, near Nottingham, with most of the dancers singing to it as we danced. Happy Days! Michael Parkinson

Spare a thought for Phil Kelsall. Three days ago I learned that the 2020 Thursford Christmas Spectacular has been cancelled. The Blackpool Tower Ballroom is still closed as well. Phil is just one of the many entertainers who are suffering with the rest of us. Michael Parkinson

Thank you for your comment @johnthornton73. You are right, the vision is a bit blurry. To achieve better picture quality I would have needed to control the lighting in the ballroom and employ a team of technicians but that would not have been allowed by the Tower owners. I am just one man using an iPhone. I think the sound is fantastic though. As I type this nearly 13 thousand people have viewed the video with many positive comments. Michael Parkinson
