So 2016 to 2019 I used to deliver catering orders in NYC and one regular customer was the Blackrock office in Midtown. It was always so depressing, they would never look your way, talk to you, direct you to where they want their food or show you how to enter or leave the floor. So definitely no one from there is tipping. Always a mountain of food, tons of work to make this kind of job happen. Across the street from their building is a church. Tons of homeless line out in front for their free pantry goods. It would disgust me that if I passed by the Blackrock building's dumpster, less than 200 feet from the church, 9 out of 10 times it would contain the same mountain of food I brought them. Full dishes untouched, sitting in a dumpster, when they could've been donated to some openly needy people. Money really shouldn't belong to some people.

It was only a couple years ago I first heard of them, and here is the thing I worked in New York City, on Wall Street for a number of years from 1990s through mid 2000s, I heard of all the financial firms (small, medium and large), and also serviced many of them (installing financial software and dealing with the traders/investment managers, etc.). I also just read a LOT about random stuff, so it is rare I come across something new, but this is shocking I never heard of this company until recently. BlackRock also supposedly has the 'most' advanced predictive financial trading software platform called Aladdin (that many other financial firms pay a license fee to use).

I’ve heard of BlackRock before but I never exactly paid attention until this video, and it piqued my interest. I go to Wikipedia, look up BlackRock, look at it’s founders, and go to their early life. You’d be *shocked* at what I found. Also, their board of directors consists of everyone you’d think it would; current and former CEO’s of the largest corporations from around the world, former members of the Obama administration, campaign strategists for Clinton, and even someone who is now serving as the Director of the National Economic Council for the Biden administration.
