@antoncordell44909 жыл бұрын
+Marijan Barać I agree. Geezer is the 'rhythm' section of Sabbath, no need for a rhythm guitarist. Most good metal bands don't have a rhythm guitarists, but have two leads instead, as in Maiden, Priest etc... John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, is another good example of a one man rhythm section from a one guitarist band. I don't think Sabbath (or Zepp) would sound the same with a rhythm guitarist. If you consider Hard Rock, then someone like Malcolm young is definitely needed.

Lost in the darkness I fade from the light Faith of my father, my brother, my Maker and Savior Help me make it through the night Blood on my conscience And murder in mind Out of the gloom I rise up from my tomb into impending doom Now my body is my shrine The blood runs free The rain turns red Give me the wine You keep the bread The voices echo in my head Is God alive or is God dead? Is God dead? Rivers of evil Run through dying land Swimming in sorrow, they kill, steal, and borrow. There is no tomorrow For the sinners will be damned Ashes to ashes You cannot exhume a soul Who do you trust when corruption and lust, creed of all the unjust, Leaves you empty and unwhole? When will this nightmare be over? Tell me! When can I empty my head? Will someone tell me the answer? Is God really dead? Is God really dead? To safeguard my philosophy Until my dying breath I transfer from reality Into a living dead I empathize with enemies Until the timing's right With God and Satan at my side From darkness will come light I watch the rain As it turns red Give me more wine I don't need bread These riddles that live in my head I don't believe that God is dead God is dead Nowhere to run Nowhere to hide Wondering if we will meet again On the other side Do you believe a word What the Good Book said? Or is it just a holy fairytale And God is dead? God is Dead [x4] Right! The incredible thing is that they already had (and created) this style 50 years ago... they could have played this song in 1970 as well. Now it sounds more aggressive because modern amplifiers are more powerful than 50 years ago, of course, but the style has remained exactly the same. My favourite band together with Iron Maiden. Greetings from Italy.

I'm so sick of all these stupid comments... Both religious and non-religious people are insulting eachother and making fools of themselves. We should just be enjoying the music. And, in my humble opinion, this song is not telling people that there is no god/deity, but is telling about someone who is going through some rough times, sees all these horrible things happening around him, and starts questioning if there is a deity. Note that it never just says "god is dead". It's eithet "is god dead?" or "I can't believe that god is dead". Just.. think about that, before you post an insulting comment.

Once again a METAL MASTERPIECE !! Heavy tri-tone notes/riff and lyrics that are timeless in regard to the human condition and how we are and will always be. God created us to be like him but we fall short and treat each other like crap out of greed and power. Sad but true.

I don't know how to describe it at all because I have zero background in music theory but Ozzy has a quality about his voice that is very unique and feels so alive, and paired with the super prevalent bass it's a sound that is so visceral and again ''alive'' is the best I can describe it. Mano essa música infernal está falando que Deus está morto. Jesus Christo
@_MAEL Жыл бұрын

@valuedhumanoid6574 Жыл бұрын
@@folkertdejong7557 I believe it means he would rather just have the alcohol and get drunk than participate in the ritual of "consuming" Christ, which is what you do at mass. The wine represents the blood of Christ, the bread represents the body. The prayers represent the Holy Ghost. He saying just let me have the wine so I can get buzzed and tolerate this world. The rejection of christ. And its a mean song
