Rather glad you said that. Both of them rip off phrases and licks that make my playing sound like I have no idea what I'm doing, and I've been playing for a number of years that has no relation to my skill level. Knowing that they're up there with the best makes me feel a bit less rubbish :) And by "rip off phrases and licks" I mean they play really good phrases and licks. Note to self: I should not try to appropriate modern language like it was my own.

My lord! I’m home from work with a bad back injury. I’ve been looking at these amps and came across this video. So for one: I’m buying two of them for a wet dry setup, and two; I hope that more people get to see this and make it to the end! That jam and that 335, and Pete’s phrasing and Micks playing, just an awesome display of pros doing what they love at its best! Oh yea, and the soft rubber 😂😂😂 Mick’s reactions of this amp sold me Blackstar!

Great video, guys! Artist series seems to expand on the Venue series club 40's channel 1... it has a voicing switch that goes from a boutique class A to class A/B. For guys like me, the club 40's high gain channel 2 gets little use. I run pedals through channel 1 and adjust the voicing switch depending on guitar (single coils vs humbuckers). The artist series may be the amp I've been trying to get out of the club 40. Thanks for the review and demo... you've got me seriously considering the artist 30.

I picked up the Artist 15, and it's awesome! Just the right level of crunchy gain, and beautiful cleans. It's a very versatile amp, and indeed has a TON of bottom end, even in a 1x12 combo. That Celestian V type speaker is excellent!
@tjnugent625 жыл бұрын
I have the Artist 15. For me it is the best amp at its price point. I have modded mine with a Greenback and Tung Sol 5881 power tubes. The character of the amp is still there but even sweeter. The 5881's have a very even and musical response. They work wonders in the amp. What can I say about the Greenback, they seem to follow me from amp to amp. Great speakers. If I had to do it over again, I would have gone for the 30 watt. You get a lot more headroom.

I’m looking to get a 30 how does it compare to say a fender deluxe reverb?
@LeviBulger6 жыл бұрын
Pretty similar actually. Except there is a little more mids and top end on the blackstar. Fender has better bass plus tremolo and actual spring reverb. I would go with the deluxe reverb all day unless I wanted to get that extra gain channel for classic rock tones. Also the bs has an fx loop which is pretty nice. Really would depend on style you play. High gain pedals do not sound great at all imo on deluxe reverbs

Question: I noticed that these Artist series amps have only 2 preamp tubes (ECC83), while the Vox AC15, Fender Blues Jr, and many others have three. Is that an issue? Is some solid-state boosting going on in the preamp? (Wasn't this a question about the HT series?)
@LocoDirewolf6 жыл бұрын
I don't think that there is any solid state boosting going on. These are not high gain amps, they are quite clean, if you want more gain you'll have to use a pedal.

Torn between Artist 15 and Fender Bassbreaker. Help !!!! Anyone played both? Artist is around £150 more
@michaeldorrenbacher89778 жыл бұрын
K Fisk Plumbing I own an Artist 15 and love it so much. But the Bassbreaker 15 is absolutely incredible too. The Artist 15 has a bigger body and I think it makes the sound bigger. But to be honest, when I had to purchase again I would buy the Bassbreaker 15 because (in Germany) its much cheaper than the Artist. With the Artist 15 and a Strat, you wont get a lot of Gain out of it, the Bassbreaker has more Gain. But with the Bassbreaker you have the typical fender tone, with the Artists ISF and 2 channels you have more sound options. Again, both great Amps.
