Good stuff! I help run a golf course in Michigan and absolutely love waking up everyday (3am) looking forward to cutting, fertilizing, watering, feeding and just overall maintaining the turf and the course. We dew whip our grass if it's not getting cut that day but at times we do break out our buffalo blower and blow off the dew as well👍🏼 So many positives when removing the dew!
@mikemorris84973 жыл бұрын
I like how you blew the dew off. I live in a quite neighborhood also. What I do is use a 10’ long piece of heavy pipe with 6’ of rope tied to each end. Then drag it over the lawn and it knocks the dew off the blades of grass. No noise at all. I saw someone using a hose too do the same thing on the utubes. So I invented the dew remover 2000 . It works pretty good. I hate cutting when it’s wet.

Just use a fiberglass dew whip.

You definitely take the extra time to make the job look nice. I know I, as well as most wouldn't take the time to blow the grass off and would most likely mow the yard wet with the stand on mower to get it done quick. I guess a lot of time we feel rushed because we have so many accounts so we go with the quickest method.

You know what's funny I recently had an argument with a neighbor over our start times being too early. He told me it was rude and inconsiderate to start at 7:15 on a Wednesday. I asked him if he would tell the police officer doing a details for work the same thing and he says no of course not that's more important work. So I said to him that I had to get things done to be able to spend time with my family at the end of the day and it's response was to take on less work. The cluelessness of some people like sorry I don't sit at home and collect the government check I actually go out and earn it and still get disrespected for working

@GTFCEO3 жыл бұрын
helps keep quiet on the first lawns in AM, or at an old folks home. THey are slower because they are physically slower speed, walking for push mow, and backpacks weaker cant blow as strong as gas ones. Trimmers are similar, gas a little more powerful to get through thick tall overgrown stuff (where battery trimmer edger would die out sooner the harder it has to work)

@jimmydavis59513 жыл бұрын
Looks good Johnny.I been lucky over the years I dont have a Bermuda grass yard that is high that holds dew on it so I been able to just get right to mowing but I did discover a trick by accident years back maybe you or others could do it too,I maintained a baseball park for 15 years and I would mow very early at times and it would be wet.One day I was dragging the infield/base lines and went out into the grass turning around to go back around just like you see in MLB when they drag the dirt.I saw that it also knocked all the dew off the grass blades .So anytime I needed to mow early I would pull something behind my mower if the dew was bad I made me a 2'x4' like drag and hooked it on the mower and worked like a charm.I also coached baseball and one time at the field my team was playing on early one morning the dew was heavy and I grabbed their hand drag and was dragging the infield grass .The tournament director came walking up and was like what ya doing and I said knocking the dew off the grass and in 5 minutes the grass was ready to play on he was tripping out he never heard of such a thing lol.Anyways lawn guys can rig up a small drag and drag it around for lager areas if they need to. :)

Great cut. I always double cut with my push mower. Why not ask the neighbor if you can cut and edge all the way up to his driveway so the whole thing looks even neater? I always do and they usually always grant me the permission and it does make a difference! The eye does not understand or see property lines and when the neighbor's part grows up over your customer's lawn it interferes with the nice look.
