It's kind of annoying when the non-binary community constantly says "oh I didn't FEEL female" or "I didn't FEEL male" which is fine but they always follow that up with "I didn't like traditionally masculine or traditionally feminine stuff so that must mean I'm some other gender" when I was growing up I was VERY masculine as a little girl, I played with cars, the majority of my friend group was that of boys that I would go over to their house and play with their massive collection of Hot wheel cars, I didn't like pink or any clothing that I deemed "too girly". I loved getting dirty playing with my friends miniature four wheeler and tracking mud into the house, and going ice fishing with my dad. Guess what? Still 100% female... If I was born a decade later my physicians would probably be pressuring my mom to seek gender counseling. We seem to have a very, very superficial understanding on what constitutes being transgender. And I see being trans or non-binary being glorified a lot in the media. The non-binary thing seems to be even worse because there is a huge trend in raising your kid "genderless" nowadays which is basically raising your kid to be non-binary until they say otherwise, which is pretty difficult to distinguish whether or not that would be harmful in the long run. Because what constitutes someone being non-binary is even less understood than what constitutes someone being trans and this whole "I'm non-binary because I don't do traditionally girly or manly things" seems to be the new "I'm not like other girls".

My brothers had toy vacuums and lawn mowers and a pony each and TMNT action figures. We all had what we were interested in and were allowed to explore different things to determine what those interests might be). I grew out of thinking I must not be right as a girl just because I was different. Just because I was (and am) a tomboy didn't mean I wasn't a girl and shouldn't be a girl. Specifically children. It's a well know fact in investigations, you don't ask direct questions to children. Because children try to please adults, if you ask a question they'll try to give you the answer you want to hear instead of the truth, because for them the right answer is the answer who make the other happy. So when interrogating a child you can't ask "is THIS what happened ?", you have to ask "what happened ?". So in this case the non-leading question would be "how do you feel like concerning gender ?". But then the child wouldn't be able to answer because I'm pretty sure they don't understand the concept of gender.

Totally agree. It's basically child abuse. Kids minds are still developing and they're experiencing so many new thoughts and feelings. Parents shouldn't be doing stuff like this. Let the child grow up and if they do end up being transgender don't transition them at such a young age as it can have serious problems later on
@godsballroom52984 жыл бұрын
I was the same way growing up. Very Tom boy in clothing , I would cry a few times if people didn’t call me ‘’he” (I’m female). Today I’m a grown woman totally indulging on all the feminine joys life can offer . I’m an athletic, strong willed woman - not a man . My parents let me do my thing and they didn’t encourage male as an identity
@Human-kk6yo4 жыл бұрын
I kind of did the opposite-- As a smol child I was really feminine and pushed into feminine things, as soon as I could dress myself that changed and I only wore dresses if I had no escape (school plays made me wear them even if I protested. Which I did. A lot) and its stayed that way. I'm now pretty sure I'm trans or under the trans umbrella somewhere. My parents may have their suspensions but they weren't going to raise me as non binary just because they didn't want to push me into something. It would still be pushing me into something. Parents can parent their kid how they want as long and the kid is safe, and let them do what they want (within reason) at that age. Just be prepared to support them no matter what

As a young adult, I played fastball and baseball. I started a hockey league. I used to skateboard and now am an avid snowboarder. I currently have culled my shoes down to a collection of 300 pair in which there are fabulous stilettos, comfy runners and wonderfully safe steel-toed boots and shoes. I was born a girl and am a woman. I drive a truck, ride a motorbike and have a full garage of tools. I love having beverages on the patio whilst rocking a fabulously fitted dress. The fact that someone is trying to tell their child that because she likes to be rough and tumble, she is a trans. People, let your child grow up and decide for themselves. Sparklepuppy00 Aj I was in a store where a mother was speaking incredibly loudly (so we all knew how woke she was), to her 2-3 year old boy. She wanted to know which girl clothes he liked best and if he wanted her to buy him the pretty scarves. The boy was pretty much non-verbal (occasional grunting) and ignoring her because he was looking at a toy. She acted like they were having an in depth conversation about which dress he preferred. The cognitive dissonance was amazing. I found myself absolutely enthralled with the way she was brainwashing this kid who had no clue what was going on. My son loved wearing his sisters princess shoes when he was two because they lit up. We thought it was cute and in no way used that situation as a defining moment of his sexuality. This is nuts!

@@dc_ox yup ppl think "gender roles" is an identity. gender roles change with the race/ culture and species. all the animals in the animal kingdom have roles based on the sex, but it doesn't make their identity, just the roles they play in their community. Like lionesses doing the hunting, while the lion will scare animals into the trap of the lionesses, or watch the cubs when cubs are born. or like how female hyenas are the dominate of the species and males are treated like trash. for humans gender roles changes with the cultures and the trends, like wearing make up, professions, and exceptions to those existed. Like having female cooks in manor houses, when its was a male dominate job. During the PC era of the 80s, the word "sex" was a no no so ppl grew up saying "gender" now a days "sex" is more acceptable, and gender became a heated thing because now with everyone suddenly trans (since its popular to be trans now) you gotta separate physical sex and gender of person. the fact that all these ppl just blindly accept these trends is alarming. I rather have concrete scientific proof. not "i feels" to top it off these ppl are damaging their kids and they are gonna grow up lost and confused with a high rate of suicide because the kid will not be developmentally balance person.

Another thing that irritates me is assuming every tomboy to be a lesbian. I remember watching a wedding video of a tomboy girl with her husband and lesbians in the comments we're all like "MY GAYDAR IS GOING CRAZY", "SHE'S DEFINITELY GONNA LEAVE HIM FOR A GIRL" and when called out they were defending themselves that "nobody can understand a joke" but that was going beyond appropriate...

That was so toxic. Sitting there TELLING your kid they’re trans and then making them think if they like ”running around, jumping and tackling people” over playing with dolls it means they want to be a boy. I can’t. That was the stupidest example
@Amber-cv7ir5 жыл бұрын
Yup.. I did that as a little girl, I was referred to as a tomboy, I just found action figures sticks and wrestling fun. D; but I’m still a girl, and I think I became more girlie at 15 but I still enjoy male activities. :/
@johnbishop96215 жыл бұрын
It's not even that. It's just reinforcing gender stereotypes by blindly assuming girls can't have the same fun as boys and vice versa.
@ivytaylor14945 жыл бұрын
Imagine a typical hetero couple telling their son that running around and tackling people is what “boys do” and that’s why they can’t be a girl. It would be considered sexist, close minded, and “reinforcing harmful gender rolls” but if you’re making the case for your child to be trans, suddenly gender is simplified down to what toys you like to play with. And like Blair mentioned, it’s such a tiny part of the population that is actually trans, honestly less than 0.01% but these people want to base their entire approach to parenting on the off chance their child isn’t normal. Why can’t we just let kids be kids and leave it at that???
@TheLadyIntegra5 жыл бұрын
@@Amber-cv7ir Omg same, total rough and tumble tomboy until I hit puberty, then I hit my girly phase with respect to fashion, but I was still basically the same person with the same interests. Thank you so, SO much for your content and perspective. I am a Christian and a new(ish) mom and it has been confusing and concerning watching the culture around this particular issue (transgender topics, and especially children transitioning) evolving over the past several years. Because of my faith and my role as a mother to very young children, I have started trying to educate myself on this topic more, because I myself have never had to struggle in this particular arena. I very much believe that we have to love and meet people where they are at, just as I would expect people to do for me, even if we can’t personally relate to their experiences. I cannot thank you enough for your transparency on the very real concerns of the social pieces of this issue and speaking about your personal testimony. There is an overwhelming amount of information presenting a very one sided agenda on this topic. Your attitude and clarity about your experiences and the seriousness of transitioning is refreshing and extremely helpful.

"do you like doing quiet _girly_ activities or do you like jumping around and being crazy?" There are so many things wrong with that question. 1. jumping around and having fun is not exclusive to boys 2. being quiet is not exclusive to girls 3. you're literally telling a young child that if they like having fun they're not a girl, and everyone knows girl's just wanna have fun 4. in all seriousness, that's a super loaded question and a totally inaccurate depiction of gender
