Well it's really just not common practice to release pilots, they're like drafts for a book, or studies for graphic art. They're just there to put the idea out to producers, so once it's approved or rejected, they're just stored away.

I like the show and the movie that it's based on. It doesn't bother me that the male cows have udders. People don't complain that Squidward has only 6 tentacles despite being an octopus, or that Mr. Krabs has 2 legs even though crabs have 6 legs. I don't expect cartoons to follow real world logic 100% all the time. If there's one that's fully realistic than cool. I typically watch cartoons to have fun.

3:12 Actually, that voice actor who voiced Tails in the pilot was Russi Taylor according to IMDB. She’s known for voicing Minnie Mouse along with Huey Dewy and Louie in Ducktales. Tails in this pilot sounds almost similar to Huey Dewy and Louie but not quite. IMDB also says that Scott Menville, who voices Robin from Teen Titans and young Fred Flintstone from the Flintstone kids, voiced Tails in the pilot but he is labeled “Uncredited”. It’s weird because Tails in the pilot sounds nothing like him or his other voice work. Tails definitely sounds a lot more close to Russi Taylor in the pilot.

Blue's Clues is an important milestone in children's television for a reason, man. It's not just the technology that made it neat. The show wasn't exactly making the parents of the day nervous that their kid was going to speak Simlish, unlike Teletubbies. (My mother didn't let me watch Teletubbies at our house, actually. Whenever I saw Teletubbies, it was at a babysitter's house. This was one of the best decisions my mother ever made, looking back on it.) And I liked it, personally, because it seemed to give ASMR for some reason (although this was before ASMR was even a term that was invented)

One episode called The Missing Coach was half way finished but cancelled due to the plot being too confusing for kids. And reading the railway series story it’s based upon, I can’t really blame them. It’s *really* confusing.

Thomas fan here. There’s still a huge amount of interest in the Thomas & Friends fandom about the Down the Mine pilot. The pilot is likely somewhere in Mattel’s archives, and is rumoured to be remastered and released for the franchise’s 80th anniversary in 2025, though that hasn’t been confirmed.
