Hey BT…. I’m the 40 year old man you referred to in the end of this video. I’ve been playing FPS since fuckin Duck Hunt on NES. I’ve been decent most of my life. But I got hooked on COD in my mid 20’s playing a little cod4 before MW2 2009 hooked me like crack cocaine. A bunch of co-workers were playing it and invited me to their team. But I was terrible. I was absolute dog water. But I was hooked. I’ve never had so much fun in gaming. We’re talking 100-200 game win streaks because I was playing demons that had been playing competitive for years. I was just the shark bait objective guy. Then I wanted to get better and earn those streaks. And I did. By the time BO1 came out I had dropped a nuke. Then BO1 I had a 1.5kdr. Mw3, 2.25kdr, Bo2 2.25. Then Ghosts came around and I got sober after 10 years of alcoholism and drug abuse. I needed something to fill the void. COD was it, it helped me stay sober. Literally had a hand in saving my life. Now here we are all these years later and I be just felt like the old man in the room. So bad that I’ve given up on gaming all together. I’ve known SBMM/EOMM have been in the game. I didn’t think I had fallen off that much. Now here I am, in Xdefiant having a blast and feeling like I know what I’m doing again. It’s crazy how these algorithms have affected our mental health as well. Long live Xdefiant and long live BlameTruth

The ranked is not SBMM, it is a smaller scale version of the normal playlist with excessive sniper campers per my experience.

Your ping is still a determining factor, but in ranked the first thing the match making looks for is your ranks relative to the other players in the lobby or the other squads your matched against if you roll in with a team.

I gotta admit something. On weekends, I never go for the objective. With how slow base-game weapon levelling is, and how the only way to gain weapon XP is through kills, I feel like I'm forced to maximize my kills. But since I don't wanna let down my team, I mostly just keep that to the weekends when we have double weapon XP. Seriously though, they should either double the base weapon XP you get, or make it so objective score counts towards the weapon you're holding. I feel like that would solve a lot of issues.

Has somebody who has played call of duty since 2007 (and stopped playing when modern warfare 2019 came out because it changed everything), I choose Black ops 4 as my favorite. Even though they added and removed a lot of things throughout the years, I feel like Black ops 4 had a great amount of gun variety and was just so good. My biggest gripe with it is just how powerful the specialists are. Getting hit with gravity spikes when you're one off from an AC 130 doesn't feel good. I can only imagine how amazing it would have been if we still had the wall running and boosting from Black ops 3 to add that extra layer of difficulty in Black ops 4

As a player nearly every day since CoD3, I have a weird story to share about MW3 multiplayer. I have never experienced anything like this and it left me scratching my head. Ive been a core FFA player since the og MW3. For someone playing this long, you start to recognize names in the lobby and remember playing against them. In the current MW3 I win most times, not bragging, its just for context. I often run into 1 guy we will call Player (A) that I can never beat. He wins pretty much every time I play against them. Not hating, just saying.. One day I run into a guy Player (B) who is very obviously mad on the mic at the matchmaking system stating he went 30-0 on his last 10 matches (yeah right) and now he cant even get a kill. I play against him every so often in the following weeks and he always ends up toward the bottom of the scoreboard. Clearly he was lying about his 30-0 streak... Then suddenly weeks later I end up in a lobby with BOTH player A and B. I play my normal style and everything but the shocking thing was Player (B) won the match. I honestly couldn't believe it. There is no way to explain how this could possibly happen other than pure manipulation.

I had a weird FFA experience as well but in a different game, halo infinite. I was steamrolling this lobby and there was another guy who was decent but the rest of the lobby was complete trash, the kind of trash you'd see sbmm give you after making a brand new account, which is also weird considering halo infinite has sbmm and I'm a above average player on that game but that's not the focus. I was 2 kills away from winning meanwhile the guy in second place was far from winning, about 10 kills. Once I needed 2 kills to win I just stopped finding people, there were still a few people in the lobby but I just could not find a single person, couldn't even hear weapons go off and it was a fairly small map, meanwhile second place guy was racking up kills extremely fast. I traveled the whole map and in about a minute the guy has gotten past me and needed 1 kill left then rushed straight to where I was and killed me with a spnkr, which didn't spawn in for a while but i just assumed he held on to it to save ammo. the powerup in the match was overshield not invis. This man who was doing mediocre the entire match, all of a sudden when I need only 2 kills to win, gets 9 kills in a minute while moving around the somewhat small map in a way that I never see or hear him, nor the other players. Odd, and I'm pretty sure what happened was the game was spawning players in right beside him so he'd catch up, and obviously win because he had a spnkr.

Why don't they just play the campaign on recruit? This is pathetic. Back when COD Black Ops II first came out my internet connection was dogwater(less than 1 mb/s, I think 100kb/s?). The lag was so bad that I couldn't use any close combat weapons, I had to rely on long range weapons and ambushes to get kills. Should other players get lag too?

Another issue that’s been caused by EOMM that no one talks about is what it’s done to the community. You only have to look at the comments on a video that an above average player has posted to see all the hacking accusations, these people have been protected by the algorithm so much that they have never seen a decent player in game so they think anyone who has movement, can shoot straight and use the mini map is hacking. The genre is in shambles.

I know im not the only one but, before xdefiant i played apex legends and cod cold war pretty much all day. got angry every game and blamed everything else except my own skills, But now that i have over 70 hours on XDefiant i can gladly say that i have never been more happy to tryhard against random people, i love to push objectives and make clutch situations happen, also i never seem to get angry or pissed off when losing or getting jumped by 2 level 90 players bunnyhopping with mp7's. its just makes me laugh and makes me even more motivated to learn the game mechanics and improve. I would love to hear if other people have had similar realisations about themselves.

I got 4 2nd places in warzone last evening and its so increadible rigged. The game do not want me to go beyond 11 kills. That 12th player i can snipe in the head which he survives, and then i throw a knife towards his head and that knife will either change direction or pass true his head dealing no damage. One guy Even survived a throwing knife in his face, armor break and blood in head, but no down/kill. They also survive 370damage crossbow bolts in the head. I know its stuck there as the bolt change Angle when enemy turn his head down to look at me while jumping. The gass will be rigged, the final circle covers half of that tower in Rebirth, but the final circle pull towards it, only taking it out of the gass 5seconds Prior to gass covering all the map. It wants those tower campers to win. So they have to jump down in the last seconds. And then i throwing knife kill the first guy. I have been quickscoping heads ever since bo2. While other people aimed chest with their ballista i always aimed head. Pretty much been using sniper + ballistic knife since bo1, always used tomahawk/throwing knife as my leathal. Although i did not aim head with my psg1, i found the best hitdetection there to be chest on standing players and ass of crouching players. I also played csgo, i used only desert eagle, sometimes scout. 2 guns which are epic for fast headshots. I always random matchmake solo with x randoms on my teams, and had to leave a bounch of games which is very punnished on ur «rank» on that game. Still i was legendary eagle with only deagle and had 30-40 kills every single game with russians on my team refusing to talk english or anything. But cod rigs everything. Warzone 1 was rigged as well, but did not notice much before vanguard got integrated. Suddenly my spr stopped to one tap headshots, my crossbow became a hitmarker machine and people was alive with a ballistic blade piercing their skull. But when i got my ps5 i was able to easy record every game after. So i started to record theese wtf situations. This is what eomm does in cod, not limited to: - Rigged matchmaking. * If you slay with a special setup it will find a counter: that counter will be forexample full team of riot shielders game after game, or people stacking inside small building which never hunts you. They stand there with claymores and Even that tactical which explodes when u walk past it. You can down them over and over again but they are to many to wipe. You can buy a uav, u can run around entire Rebirth freely and look for people split up, but all uav shows you is stack of teams in tiny buildings. Even 2 team inside some buildings but they never engage eachother as they are at different levels. * another form is that you only Get placed with noobs or afk’ers or zero teammates 10 games straight. I have experienced having zero teammates in Quads 7 games in a row. * in multiplayer you will be put in game after game which are halfway done with enemy spawncamping you with helicopters in the air, and u as a offensive player is put there to solve that xD * if u play with a inzanely bad wepon and do a idiotic hard camo challenge which dont fit ur gameplay for first half of that game you can Get 95% winrate, because you nearly becomes immortal the second half of the game. * if u act as a bot for with a bad wepon for several games straight the game will not know what to do with you and you will be kicked from matchmaking with several fault messages. - Bad hitdetection - aim assist/antiaim assist - aiming sway - Flinch - Sprint to fire/gun jam - Projectory of utility - Hitboxes - damage/life - Piercability - Movement speed - Ads speed - Aiming in general - Lagspikes vs certain players - Loot - Experience gained - Audio Its all rigged and i have tested and recorded. I have tested to not buy anything, not Even the base battle pass. I will be so nerfed there is 1300% damage difference between me and enemy. I needed 54 wsp swarm shots between shoulder of an enemy from 1m to down him, and then his teammate kills me with 4 shots from the same gun on Worse location. I have dealt above 1k damage to enemies and not allowed to Even break 2 plates. And then after a week i buy blackcell. Instantly i dropped new personal kill record in warzone not only once, but twice the first evening! I bough the laser sable boundle, and took that casino machine inside factory and got a platinum card first try with specialist. For my entire career i have never got anything other than silver card there. Its increadible rigged. Its a game that hates me. Thank god we have a competition now with xdefiant :) Two times i have trown 4 throwing knives towards center chest on an downed enemy and they eithe deflect to the side or go true him to give his teammate time to kill you before u can end that downed enemy…

I admit it, I'm terrible at XDefiant, but I did improve by your words. Improve. I watched guides on movement,weapons, and factions and learned the maps. It felt like I time traveled to MW2, and it probably sounds weak or dumb but I honestly cried when I realized. It reminded me of when I was a kid with my cousin and brother staying up all night on Fridays doing the same thing. The memories flooded, and I had to cry of joy. It was up to 2019 when we played MW 2019 with all the hype and nostalgia. Playing MP for a month, we just didn't seem to look at guides anymore, which with times changed. There’s an old saying at casinos. “The house always wins.” The house is Call of Duty itself for the past 5 years. The gambler is you. I’ve seen a lot of good players being “shadowbanned” by Call of Duty because they were too good at the game. It’s like card-counting when you’re playing Blackjack. When you beat the house consistently while card-counting at a Blackjack table, the casino will kick you out, and maybe ban you. That’s basically what it is in Call of Duty. When they found out you are good, they’ll shadowban you. Recently I got shadowbanned in a Call of Duty game for a few minutes, even in big team lobbies like 10v10 or 12v12 (which is what most people play outside of SnD), because in one game of Hardpoint, although I went negative in my KD, my hill time was over 3 minutes. THREE. And I was at or near the top of the leaderboard because of that. Me alone had the MOST hill time than the entire team COMBINED. I only play to win the game, no matter what. And it’s surprising nowadays that games punish you for winning. It’s pathetic. While leveling up the weapons, I play the objective all the time, because it’s bonus XP to help leveling up the weapon, not just kills. Like you said, BT, if you’re playing Call of Duty and not playing the objective, you are a shit player. Like absolutely shit. And for everyone who were sick and tired of this BS, you should play XDefiant, or other games like R6 Siege, Battlefield, even CS2 or Valorant among other FPS games. It’s hilarious when you started the “playing the objective” rant. Just last night I played a game of zone control where 2 players on my team were absolutely clapping the enemy while I took all of the capture points the entire time. By the end of the game when I saw my name come up as player of the game with only 8 kills while my other teammates had 38 and 33 kills, I was in tears from laughing so hard. I’m not a great player, but it was pretty obvious that my teammates were very ok with doing the dirty work while I just racked up objective score, but I do wish that more people understood what playing the objective means because I have lost some close games all because people are chasing kills over the objective.

BT, the last segment of this vid really hit home. I am a longtime FPS player, since I learned how to use a keyboard back in 1993. First game was Duke Nukem 3D, moved onto Quake 1/2 from there, and played Counter-Strike in my teenage years. I had a hiatus from gaming in general while I was in the military, and when I got out and covid hit, i picked up COD cause my friends were playing and I quickly realized the landscape had changed so much in the 10 year hiatus. I was blown away. Extremely disheartened, COD had me thinking I had fucked up by not playing for those 10 years, that I was too old (in my early 30s at the time) and that my reflexes were shit, and i literally just missed my chance. Then came XDefiant. I got shit on for the first few levels, but this game felt different. This game felt like it could actually finally “git gud”. And i have. Im consistently dropping 1.0 - 1.2 k/ds (which coming from COD, i get so excited about.) I am turning 36 this year and my hope has been restored. I am in control of my skill level in this game, unlike boo boo ass cod. I was fighting against the SBMM which was hurting me in COD. Since there is no SBMM in this game the only one to blame is myself if i do bad. Gaming vet with 25 years of FPS experience… I’ve played EVERY CALL OF DUTY GAME. it wasn’t this bad. One example that stands out. I’m above average at cod with idk a 1.6 KD. My brother has a 0.5 KD or something. So when I was getting my knife gold in MW19, it was many games and players never let me get close. They are just Skill based to match me. I know better for knife players. Anyways I offer to get my brother his knife gold since I’m better than him and he likes knives. I kid you not, I always refer to it as the Austin Powers steam roller scene. I’d run straight at them, and they struggled to kill me. His lobbies were so bad it felt like I was the flash and everyone was frozen in time. Reaction time of a cucumber. I got it gold in that ONE MATCH! That was the biggest eye opener for the difference in lobbies. 2 separate games. My lobbies I stopped trying. Like performance punishment at work, ya know? Try so hard and get the same results because it’s predetermined win or loss. I can’t play games with this cranked of SBMM/EOMM/MMR or whatever. It’s irritating to see games downfall of performance. Removal of features, lying at launch and then 4 weeks later make the changes for money. I’d sell my left nut for XDefiant just based on REAL communication and no SBMM alone. I’m burnt dog. And I have cod Stockholm syndrome. I keep thinking it’ll get better. Edit: the game knows me so well, that I can literally see “my match up” in CoD and OW2. I will call it out so friends know who to try and kill first lol. I hate it here.

EBMM makes so much sense to me now, especially in apex legends(uninstalled) where I have constantly been teamed up with guys who cannot cross the 100 damage mark, and after 30 games I suddenly get solos like me, who do the same if not slightly less damage and it is an easy win. The life of solo gamers is so much different to professionals and people who actually have friends who still play video games, none of this matters if you actually have a few chaps to squad up with. Unfortunately I am seeing the same trend in xdefiant as well, where after a first few games with good team mates and servers with 30-40 ping, I am either forced to play in lobbies with erratic ping going above 75 to 140, noob teammates I don't worry about, but since you mentioned about the sudden change in server conditions being part of their design, I completely agree with you that gaming industry has become to hungry for quick and consistent payouts. And though I actually have felt slightly depressed because of consistent losses in these games despite getting a fair share of kills, I have not saved any of my cards in these game sites, have not splurged on any of these games, and that thought alone clears up any depression I have bercause of them.

I'd actually love to see some old school tips and tricks videos from you on Xdefiant. I'm nearly 30 and have 3 young kids so my playtime is pretty limited. Would love to get your take on how to make the most of it. Thanks for the vids, they've been amazing/eye opening. I send them to my buddies everytime lol
