Monarch is the reason i keept sticking with both Lambda and Nu as my mains in this game, man realized that both characters have shitty defence so he decided to become a brick wall

Having unbreakable defense is THE hardest thing to do in fighting games, and it's the Strongest thing you can have. If you don't take more damage than the opponent than you will always win. The amount of reaction speed and mental fortitude and even knowledge to pull something like those blocks off is out of this world
@Shabadaba12162 жыл бұрын
I get mentally exhausted after blocking for 10 seconds and this man blocked for like 5 minutes lmao

Defense is definitely the most valuable skill to have.
@carlos415192 жыл бұрын
It depends on the fighting game. In games like dbfz. Low chip, explosive damage, blocking and responding correctly is very rewarding. Games with high chip/lower damage, like some street fighter titles, blocking is okay but doing it for too long could cause you to lose in some cases. In games where there is high chip and high damage, like sf2 or strive, blocking is not ideal. Sol fafnir punishes respectful blockers and the best way to deal with it is putting out a button offensively. Id say that every fg requires a good neutral. It is the basic of a match and is what leads to set play/mix ups. Having unbeatable neutral in fgs will make it so that way you are never suffering on the defensive. Itll also improve both aspects of offense and defense since you would need to be able to react defensively while being able to move offensively.
@sorryimcringe97122 жыл бұрын
with some characters with slow normals I honestly think it's the main thing to build up. Like, characters like Susano'o may be able to nuke your health bar easily after one hit but that's the easy thing to do, but when you don't have most of your rouund start one your going to find yourself in a lot of inopportune situations where doing anything but blocking is going to get you into a nasty combo, yet people look at me when I'm crazy when I say the main difference between scrub Susano'os and good ones is whether they can recognize this situations and take the L and block rather than trying to win an unwinnable situation in neutral. When even baby combo nukes someone's whole healthbar all you need is one opening, all you need is one or two gaps in their offense to kill. Being an offensive character doesn't mean defense doesn't matter, it just means it comes to you less easily. I dunno what these people do when they play a rush down character against a zoner.
@amare74302 жыл бұрын
@@carlos41519 yeah i agree with you here, i've gotten to the point where i can react to most of the mixups that get thrown at me in ACPR but that doesn't mean shit when venom is sitting you in the corner, chipping you down with balls and most importantly cranking your risc. if you can actually just block forever with minimal consequences in the game (no guard bar mechanic, low chip and/or no chip kill, no easy bake pressure reset options, etc.) then unbreakable defense is great, but otherwise its only the foundation for actual complete defense which requires abare

i saw uri had a ds4 but any idea what controller monarch had? looked like something smaller, probably a ds4 as well Update: since this comment i have got my hands on a hitbox. Can confirm it has masterrace potential based on how it shatters executional barriers, makes me think and practice about execution the right way, rewards execution practice, PROTECTS THE LONG TERM HEALTH OF YOUR FINGERS/WROSTS/HANDS, and feels the best (this last one is subjective obvi) ill never go back to controller, hitbox is my master now
