It's said in Echoes that the Valencian Falchion is a teeth from Naga. It is meant to defeat the old dragons, to be the claws the humans don't have and the hope to fight. Or something like that! It was created because Naga knew that one day, the dragons would become mad, and would need to be taken down.

"Did you ever switch out this weapon when using Chrom?" Actually, sometimes, yes I did, as the standard Falchion is really only good against wyverns. He also starts out with the rapier, which may have durability, but is more worth it as it is stronger overall and is effective against cavalry and armor. That question you asked applies to me with Lucina, however. Legendary and personal weapons are always nice.

I'd like to note something about the Fujin Yumi: It's special effect is similar to the Yato in that it only has to be in a character's inventory for it to work and, not just that, but they don't even need to be able to use bows. You could make anyone a mounted unit and give them the Fujin Yumi and they can traverse terrain with ease. In fact, I did that with my main character, who I made a Paladin, just so they didn't suffer from terrain.

In the programming of FE games, every speed point gives 2% evade. Forsettit gives 20 speed so you get an extra 40% evade!! Eg an enemy would go from the accuracy of 60% down to 20% just by having forsetti equipped. Plus you would be able to double everything in sight since you need 4 or more speed to double an enemy. Oh yeah, each luck point bestows 1% to evade, accuracy and -1% getting criticled by an enemy. So if you have 40 speed and 10 luck that would make 90% evade in total.

The Waterwheel is my favorite. It's literally a stronger Guard Naginata with a downside that isn't all that severe (cutting strength in half after combat and restoring it after next combat) as it still has the upside of making your Spear Master an indestructible tank. It looks silly, but the fact that it's a water wheel made into a weapon, a powerful one at that, is hilarious to me. By the way, the Spear Fighter class tree is my favorite in Fates. The way they wield lances and naginatas is the absolute coolest.

Same, it only has 5 might (the same as an iron sword) and is only good for the first 3-4 chapters until you can get weapons that easily outclass it because it’s way too easy to grind weapon ranks in awakening.

Judging by Siegfried's Grip and Blade length, I'd say it's a inbetween of a Longsword and Bastard Sword considering how Xander wields the sword with one hand.

First you look at the Falchion Chrom had in the beginning of the game, with only 5 Mt. And then you see the Exalted Falchion he has near the endgame, with 15 Mt, 5 Crit, and the ability to heal 20 HP. Exalted Falchion is awesome. Pretty much no drawbacks, with unlimited use before Fates was a thing.

I find it funny how Ragnell in Path of Radiance is basically the only weapon that can hurt the black knight and Ashnard. Not because of a bonus damage thing, but because the weapon's might is so freaking high.

Now that I've watched the video, a legitimate comment that isn't memeing! I could never make a list like this, I admit, but my favorite weapon out of the list is probably likewise the Ragnell. But my favorite legendary weapon of all time is the Yewfelle from FE4. And honestly, I just gotta say good list, dude. Knowing what you've played and all, these make perfect sense, though I am a little surprised that Yato wound up so high on the list! Everything else felt like a given--especially #1--but they all felt like they deserved their place, and it's fun to hear you talk so animatedly. All in all, excellent work dude!

My #1 pick would've definitely been Forseti from Genealogy of the Holy War. (I also started figuring out you hadn't played it when you called the Double Bow the best bow in the franchise without even bringing up Yewfelle, lol) I love Forseti so much. It plays a huge role in the plot, starts with one of my favorite characters and then makes him even more awesome conceptually during the timeskip, and, I think uniquely in the history of Fire Emblem, it's the only unit-locked Legendary Weapon that can not only be passed down from parent to child, but can even end up in the hands of different units based on who Lewyn pairs with. Weapons being passed down from father to son isn't unusual to Fire Emblem, but giving the player control over who that son is is unique so far as I'm aware. Also, it's probably the most OP weapon in the game; it has 30 MT like all the other Genealogy Legendary Weapons, but it's also a wind tome, which were notoriously the best kind of weapon in Genealogy due to very low weight, and the Major Ced Blood's boost to Speed growths means it always ends up on absurdly fast units.

fun trivia about the yato: the yato was made by the rainbow sage each of the yato's forms take on a color of the rainbow Red = shadow yato orange = omega yato yellow = blazing yato green = noble yato blue = alpha yato purple = grim yato and you can make the color orange by mixing red and yellow, and since the omega yato is what you get from uniting both kingdoms, its pretty clever.

My favorite weapon is FE7 Luna tome. Well yeah it isn't a personal weapon, I like it because it's broken. I'm 95% sure it's the most broken weapon in the franchise and it's hilarious to me how something like that got in (but FE4 Holy weapons are also rediculously broken).

This was a great list... but you forgot about one weapon that is as strong as Urvan and gives a plus 3 boost to defence. A weapon synonymous with the swordmaster that wanders the deserts of Begnion. The Vague Katti. The weapon that Stefan comes with if you can recruit him, which is not easy to do in either game they if you don't plan for it. You can get them in The Feral Frontier in PoR, where it is a more powerful Killing Edge with 5% more crit rafe, and in Distortions in Radiant Dawn, where it sacrifices 30 out of the 35% crit rate it had PoR in order to add 20% hit rate and 10 might to it, making it the strongest 1 range sword in the Tellius series. Even if you don't use Stefan himself, you can give the Vague Katti to your swordmaster of choice in either game, and they will be set for as long as you want them to use it for. While it has 25 uses in Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn gave it double its uses, and it can be blessed to be unbreakable. While Ragnell and Alondite are overall better, the Vague Katti is a legendary weapon in its own right. And while I always use Mia in both games, the Vague Katti is almost always the legendary weapon I gave her, and it is a weapon that is deserving to be on this list, even tbough it wasn't. If anyone reads this through to the end, thank you for doing so.

In RD the vague katti has 20 might whereas ragnell/alondite has 18, meaning the katana is STRONGER. But VK give +3 defence instead of +5 and still has a range of 1.

On my European copy of radiant dawn, it specifically says 20. I still have the game in my drawer. Wishblade has 22 though. If you still don't believe me, look it up on wikia or on a lets play on chapter rebirth 2.

15: Ah yes, a weapon that gives the wielder a shielding skill. Very useful. 14: Exclusive to a single character, in a couple games exclusive to the DS. 13: One of many reasons I respect this character, his choice of weapon. Very underappreciated weapon IMO. 12: The weapon that makes mortal men into Jesus. 11: That has questionable status as a Legendary, but he probs has a good reason for it. See, I didn't think it was of that Weapon Rank. That explains it. 10: The weapon that likely inspired the Levin Sword in-story. 9: The Dark Light-Blade, as I call it. Seriously, the cutscenes make it look like an evil lightsaber. 8: Looks like Radiant Dawn, but I've never seen this weapon before. I actually switch it out in all my playthroughs. Make him truly earn the right. Only give it to him after Naga powers it up. Also, that's why I pronounce it with a strong K sound, to distinguish it from the actual weapon type. 4: The Blade of Many Faces. #DatOmegaFormDoe 3: They're all so awesome he couldn't separate them. 2: The Blade With No Name. Personally, I have a theory that it's Falchion, just the game's story is a history that was corrupted through time. 1: The Eternal Rivals. I'm trying to find a way to fit one(The lesser known of the pair) into my Awakening fanfiction as a weapon used by Robin in an after-story.

You should have added Forseti, Mystletainn, and Naga from FE4 because those weapons were some of the most broken weapons in the game. FE4 in particular, has some of the most broken weapons in the fire emblem series. I think whoisthisgit does a pretty good job covering them.

Siegfried: Compared to Great Knights, Paladins tend to have higher Speed, Resistance, and Movement. Paladins do, however, tend to have lower Strength and Defense than Great Knights. This is why I think Siegfried is such a brilliant weapon: by being an overall strong sword which also boosts Defense when held, it helps make up whatever shortcomings Xander may have by remaining a Paladin instead of switching to Great Knight. I mean, Paladins are one of the best classes in the series, but thanks to Siegfried, now Xander gets the best of both worlds. Raijinto does a similar thing for Ryoma, since Swordmasters are usually thought to be weaker than Heroes, but it's not as extreme a difference as the one between Paladins and Great Knights. Chrom's Falchion: Uh, yeah. Falchion was the main reason why I didn't want to change Chrom outside a sword-wielding class. I did make him a Paladin at one point, but even that uses swords. About #1: Considering who's making this video, I shouldn't be surprised. I'm a little disappointed none of the weapons from Genealogy of the Holy War made it, but having never really played or seen much of that game, maybe they aren't as worth it as I would think. :/ Maybe at least the Book of Naga could make it up here, but what do I know? I would be wary about classifying limited-use weapons as "the only one [character] will ever need", though. Usage can run out faster than you think, especially with early-game weapons like the Wolf Beil, Reginleif, or Mani Katti. While excellent early-game weapons, you may want to reserve them for particularly tough opponents / enemy cavaliers or knights when you can. (Unless it's Lyn's tutorial story in Blazing Blade; you probably won't break the Mani Katti by the end of the tutorial, and it's reforged when she rejoins later, so go nuts while you can.)

Mine are (I could only think of 9): 1: Book Of Naga. THE MOST BROKEN WEAPON IN THE SERIES, NO DOUBT. 30 might, 80 or 90 hit (I forgot the exact amount) +20 Skill, Speed, Def and Res, and only 12 Weight. 2: Forseti. Makes Lewyn and his son so dodgy, enemies won't attack them. 30 might, 90 hit, +20 Speed, +10 Skill and only 5 weight. 3: Apocalypse. This isn't cause it's good, 'cause it isn't. It just let's my girl Sophia go into "overkill" mode for both attacking and healing. 4: Yewfelle. Easily the best bow in the series. I mean, +10 Strength and Speed, as well as the Life skill is nothing to scoff at, and this baby is packing 30 might. 5: Aura. A great weapon with 18 might and 95 hit. FOR A B-RANK TOME! You also get it in chapter 3 of FE 3 book 2 and FE 12! Note that in FE 3 book 2, it has -5 hit and is Linde's personal weapon, where as in FE 12, she can use it at E-rank, but every other female can use it at B-rank. Also, I just love how you get it so early on in FE 12. Makes the early game a hell of a lot easier, and in the hardest game in the series (trust me, it is, from what I've played. I mean, Silvers in chapter 1 generics and generic pre-promotes in chapter 2, and around 15 generic pre-promotes in chapter 3, carrying Steels and Silvers, and they're flyers) 6: Starlight. A C-rank tome (for some reason), with these stats: 17 Might, 100 hit and 10 crit. WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL. Oh, let's not forget that it also nullifies Imullhu's effects, allowing you to nab the Falchion, which makes Marth go from a trash 0 useless unit to a fairly decent fighter. 7: Tyrfing. Prayer, +10 Strength, Speed and +20 Res. Need I say more? 8: Migure. A bow that raises Speed. As we all know, Speed = best stat. 9: Wing Spear. YOU CAN FORGE THE WING SPEAR. You get Hammerne really early on. You also get 2 Hammerne in FE 12, as well as 2 Hammerne users (although Lena joins you in the endgame). Caeda is a flyer. She can kill generals easily. Need I say more?

Yep, I always gave the wishblade to Nephenee. Every single playthough, including hard. I did give the double bow to Rolf on my first playthrough, but thats because on my first playthrough I used both Shinon and Rolf (with support with each other, seemed canon to me to make them act like brothers and put them together) and Rolf does end up with slightly better stats than shinon, but requires a lot more effort for that tiny bit extra. On hard, I did give the double bow to shinon since exp was more scarce. I did let chrom use throw-able spears quite a lot since Chrom's falchion has a range of 1. Even when he gets it upgraded, I still had to let him use throwable spears. Thats how I grinded chrom to max stats during grind based chapters since there are alot of enemeis with 1-2 range weapons (ahem, mages).

Hey Bk, just a fun idea for a vid might be "Best Representatives of Each Archetype". Basically going over every archetype in the series and picking the best representative of that archetype (ie lets say Lonqu is the best Nabarl/Navarre archetype)

My personal favorites are Ragnell and the Sword of Seals (or Binding Blade) for swords, Siegmund for lances, Aureola and Apocalypse for magic, Fujin Yumi for Bows, and Armads and Urvan for Axes.

I don't know how may other Legendary weapons have this same quality because I haven't yet played every FE game but Ragnell always stuck out for me over other legendary blades like the Falchion or Yato because it had a range of 1-2 as opposed to just 1. I always liked that.

for the last time Roy isn't a bad Lord. As a unit he's ok and the only other things going against him is his character. Everyone always says Roy is a boring bland character but what many don't get is this is souly a cause of the version almost all westerners play being a fanslation. Most of Roy's character was just not translated over well.

I personally like Roy's character. He's nothing original, but he's simple and effective. And it's the game's fault for him a bit of a problem gameplay-wise. He's rather easy to use for the first 10 chapters, but his extremely late promotion causes him to be babysat for most of the way there.

What about Ragnell's return in Awakening with Prima? Sorry, I know that appearance isn't as great as it is in the Radiant games, but I at least assumed you would mention it because of how it was nice to see it back in action. When you mentioned one of the Weapons of Scouring above others, I was assuming it to be Eckesachs, sword of the mad king Zephiel. Yea, you can't use it yourself, but its still one of the coolest weapons in the series.

While I do believe a few of the weapons on this last don't really count as legendary weapons (namely the Reginleif, Double Bow and Wing Spear), I think this was a good list. I feel dumb for not predicting Ragnell or Alondite in first though. It should have been obvious given your favourite character and how amazing they are. I find it funny how Reginleif was on here as well as opposed to Siegmund or Sieglinde. I generally try to avoid using signature weapons unless it's absolutely necessary or I'm facing the enemy that they were specifically created to defeat, so I only used the sister legendary weapons against the Demon King, but Reginleif was such a fantastic weapon throughout the entire game. I found it to be way more memorable than the other two, and considering it has more uses and you can get more than one of them, also more useful as well. I figured nobody else would have agreed with me on that, so when I heard you say it exactly as I thought of it, that was quite a pleasant surprise.

Falchion is also the symbol in smash for the FE characters most Iconic in the franchise (Along with Binding Blade and Ragnell) made from NAGA'S FRICKING TOOTH No mention of the fact that Omega Yato IS ALSO A CHAINSAW Who doesn't love the swords that can set itself on fire (Binding blade, Ragnell, Yato {I Guess}, Falchion {Eh, it glows red in Awakening}) It was kinda obvious your favourite would be Ragnell considering your Avatar is wielding it But what do I know, I'm a casual who plays casual mode but plays it like classic by reseting if someone dies, and even that's casual.

About the falchion section, Chrom’s falchion is relatively unremarkable until the endgame map, as it’s inferior to a wyrmslayer might wise, cannot be forged, and for general purposes most swords just have better stats, an iron sword performs better despite having limited uses

I like Sigfried because that laser beam it shoots is just awesome The Demon Graglari... (Sumeragi's sword) because Sumargai is awesome and swinging two Katana's is awesome Wolfberg because it's the Conquer's axe But I love the Omega Yato the most! not even for what it does in Fire Emblem but because in smash it will hurt people and hold them still for a free smash attack... but the best is Tomahawk 'cause that's what Ceravantes uses.
