Honestly Tekking, I don’t think Uryu “turning traitor” was ever supposed to be a real source of drama. At least, not for the audience. Like you said, it was very obvious to us right away that he was going to be a double agent, and I think Kubo probably knew that. Which is why he never really dwelt on it that much. That doesn’t make it good writing, but I don’t think the “reveal” of him not actually being evil was actually supposed to be a reveal. No one was supposed to be shocked or amazed.

I’m not sure about that when it comes to the anime adaptation. I’ve been following a few reactors to see their takes on the development of the Uryu “betrayal” and many of them seem to be considering that Uryu may have actually turned traitor due to the Ichigo and Renji fights. The betrayal seems more believable in the anime adaptation which may reflect Kubo’s true intentions

​@@l.k.4186 totally agree, although the vibe I've picked up is more of a growing sense of reluctant acceptance that Uryu really has joined Yhwach, and a huge almost cathartic release of fear and tension when we found out he hadn't. And almost universally I've heard people wondering how he even can be forgiven for everything he did.

Yeah I would say i prefer this approach in the anime the best rather then some ham-fisted "brainwashing" subplot with Uryu. In fact it might be possible that Yhwach saw a future in which Uryu had no choice but to become his successor and that is the reason he selected him.

4:00 This is not the "beginning of a new world", this is the "Sun Gate" that they mentioned and it was the title of one of the episodes, and we saw in episode 6 or 7 of this part that Hashfelt was there and the rest of the elite were above as if he sent each one of them to a specific place, then when Ishida's location changed he was watching him and then he sent one of the soldiers to watch him again before he intervened with Bazz B, so until now it is a tool for transportation

But literally we saw the Sternritter use the gate of the sun when they were going out to set up the battles. Even uruyu says it’s a metal plate. We literally saw one. The title card even appeared on it in the episode titles gate of the sun. It’s not the red orb. And the location was like 5 floors down for the one that was set to invade the world of the living. I can’t see the red orb/portal is it.

My theory is that Mimihagi is holding the 3 world together, Yhwach tried to merge the 3 realms together in his sleep, but instead a branch of Mimihagi dissapear instead, I think Ukitaki became like Atlus, holding the world together, and Yhwach needs to go down the soul society and kill him to activate the merger.

How the letters work is simple. Juha is A the almighty and there is no limit to which letter you can get or how many can obtain a certain letter. Uryu got A. Roid and loid Y. Shaz not even a normal letter. So over the years the Quincy probably got subbed in. Retired or taken out in battle so juha can give more letters out Plus the powers are related to the person's power not the order of joining since once again uryu got A and he's last while haschwald got B and he was definitely not first so it's all destined powers So X axis in barro was just the chosen letter to something he could already unlock. Similar to the shinigami zanpaktou where they already have names and you can't change it or else your power is weaker

in my head cannon i feel like byakuya was being petty for that one quincy that shredded him apart with his own bankai and since he didnt do it at that quincy he is taking his moment and doing it on "the miracle" quincy

Something I just noticed about the Schutzstaffel Quincy; all their powers are more reactive than active. Of course they're strong on their own so you can't just ignore them, but I think it'd be easier to "not fight" them. Lille only really transforms when he dies (or at least uses his full powers when at risk of dying), Gerard gets stronger the more you damage him, Askin needs you to hit him so he can get immunity and excess, Pernida is basically a baby and doesn't know anything unless you engage it, and even Uryuu can only reverse things if they're uneven to swap.

Tekking RE 17:00 the Sternritter being around 1000 years ago doesn't imply Schrifts were around 1000 years ago, it's possible he did that later after a certain stage of awakening in line with the Sealed Quincy King prophecy.

I get the feeling some of the impure Quincy survived Holy Selections and due to that Yhwach probably recruited some of them due to how resilient they were like we assume Katagiri is considering the next episode. Also it’s possible the Sternritters were formed a thousand years ago but Yhwach only started engraving letters recently, or just as old as someone like Lille would be. The new additions has some anime only people mad and questioning, that Kubo asspulled Renji getting better. Some additions are great others have been confusing to people who know nothing about the world and how it works.

We see it's a delayed effect to impure Quincy but different for each. Katagiri still got the silver in her heart so it effected her eventually and uryu surviving is probably because he's not half Quincy he's three fourth Quincy with his mom being half and dad being full. Misaki meanwhile was a full blooded Quincy but because a hollow got her all that happened was her losing her power Basically juha drains the power of each Quincy and that drain depending on the person basically ends them right there or weakens them to a point they'll lose their life eventually as katagiri did while pure Quincy are immune

Almost all the Sternriiter didn't trust Uryu, not just Jugram, hell even Lille too. They even have a meeting about Uryu in Cour 2. Obviously, Yhwach planned and knew this, as Jugram explained in the manga, announcing Uryu as the next successor would have all the Sternritter attention on him. Uryu had to prove his worth. As the audience, it's obvious that Uryu would betray them from the start. It's how far would he keep this act on that makes it interesting.

Finally, Ichigo rug in the anime Also about the death dealing, Askin mentions that he needs to absorb the substance he designate, so if he wanted to designate oxygen he would need to breath in oxygen, if he wants to designate blood he would need to consume blood, same with reishi, nitrogen and any other substance.

For Askin's ability, I think he just needs to consume a large amount of the substance to be able to control the lethality of it. The reason why he had to consume Nimaya's blood is because Askin wanted to make Nimaya's blood toxic, and since his blood is unique to himself, Askin doesnt have any of his blood in his system, hence needing to consume it. Hopefully that makes sense.

If I remember correctly, Gerard's power was bit more explained in one of the Klub Outside thingies. Spoilers for incoming fights ahead: When Zaraki cut open Gerard there appeared sigil looking like Quincy's cross. Someone asked Kubo about it and apparently this is core and source of Gerard's power and destroying it would kill him. Which I suppose means that Zaraki was the closest to defeating Gerard, literally one more cut was needed.

As a huge Shinji fan I was really happy that he wasn’t one shotted as we expected 😂 I’m pretty sure there’s a reason why Askin had to inject himself with Nimaya’s blood - maybe because he needed his opponent’s blood and not his own. As with Yoruichi’s and Yushiro’s attacks, taking them head on means he’s injecting himself with their reiatsu so he becomes immune to it

I do like Yourichi outfit and nice like soifon they made it closer to the manga design instead of the old anime design, also her outfit is kind of traditional for the head of the stealth force but that more is because Shunko destroys ant fabric on the back or arms when in use so they need that different design otherwise full strip when I mean Yourichi would be fine with. Edit I think Minihagi was doing it’s best to stagnate the three worlds from the soul society and Yhwach struck it, though if they are good that might give Yhwach a reason to go to SS instead of on a whim I mean not calling out the name would make the missile weaker because using the name makes it stronger, also Toshrio doesn’t show up at this point in the manga he shows up after the Vizard get a scene with the main use of the masks where all but Hachi of the ones who did not rejoin

Almost immediately when juha was born. I mean all those people touch him and get healed of their injuries so he had the power to grant and heal Quincy. He just gets the power back and all their reshi once the person passes on and we see this in the war too with mask being defeated. We also see it with as nodt who was a sick Quincy and even to a robot Quincy in K.

The fuck you wanted her to do? First of, the wahr welt which itself is build in such a way which massively proves to be a critical disadvantage to the shingamis. As for the effect they are unable to create footholds and engage in shunko. To address soi fon, first she's stood there in a still state to focus on the target (i.e gerard) in order to infiltrate the maximum damage but she failed. Which is believable.
