Got this on the PS5 upon release and been pleasantly surprised by this game. Its a bit rough around the edges but the atmosphere & musical score are top notch. Combat is fun with alot of weapons/armor to find which makes exploration an absolute joy imo... Things have been polished up for the consoles as well.. itll be bittersweet since im almost done with my first playthrough but definitely gonna give NG+ a run. Thanks for the Bleak Faith video bro 🔥

@@ruikiriBalance seems okay for the most part but my least favorite boss was definitely Plagued Revenant Boss found in ghost town..lol it was a pain having to run around the arena until his skeleton crew stopped firing arrows and magic at me during the fight haha.. I have to beat Nurei first then head into the desert for worm lord and the Archbishop..im running a good ole strength build with berserk and vampirism with titan slayer Greatsword with either the lacerators or A scythe weapon. I was just about to buy it on ps5. Did they iron out the controller issues that it had upon launch? I was so bummed when it initially released & was plagued with issues, I’m hoping the ps5 release is a more polished product.

@@Erosgates since launch controller support is a lot better.. but there are still some issues right now with the mapping, youl see what i mean in the next episode tomorrow, but it will probably get fixed eventually

I cannot stress how important stamina is in this game! It is by far the most valuable perk you should level up! It makes you swing faster and makes your stamina recover faster and due to the cane being very slow you literally become like flash in a slow motion world! I highly recommend anyone playing this game to invest heavily in the stamina perk! (Agility)

Try sheathing your weapon more in between combat. Think of it like snapping the lock on to get a more accurate hit in DS2. Makes the combat a lot more manageable Thanks for the video. Been loving the Bleak Faith videos, I finally just picked it up myself

This is just a pet peeve of mine but every time they do a patch, I still never know why they leave us starting with a sword on your hip that you cannot use or interact with! Like man, it drives me mad and I wish they would remove it or do something with it! 😅 What is everyone else's thoughts on this?

@@davidrichey-lowe7364 its a general utility weapon, its what you use to stab giants and sea snakes , i wish there was a bit more backstory to it... maybe we could have to unlock it/find it somehow

Paid $35 for this on PS5 and been having a blast with this game. I had one glitch on the 1st day it dropped but been fine since. Its also good that you can travel to any previous save point for exploration.

Played on PS5 on release, loved it ! You guys should try the "Shield mastery" perks with the deflecting damage upgrade. Blocking and perfect blocking inflict damage making the fights so much more proactive. Pair it with the "duellist" and upgrade "no penalty on staminina regen when blocking", one handed sword (Whiplash is awesome) put on armor every "attack swing increase" stones and you got yourself a Sekiro knock off. Finished the game with 165% speed while blocking every attack so satisfying

@@ruikiri to finish the build, put the "combo" perk upgrade on the skills increase. Lastly "Zealot" perk upgrade it to 40% damage on skills with a stack. And now you perfect block everything and do insane damage with whiplash or Heavy strike

Despite all of the jank with this game, I think it is alright. The world itself kind of strikes me as inconsistent and super random (That might be the point, though, in which case the devs did a solid job), but I did find myself saying, "Huh, this place is kind of cool." In a few areas: Desert Mirage, Uranopolis, and Rain District. The godforsaken Deluge level almost gave me a heart attack, though, since I had the 'Nightmare' mode on and forgot to turn it off. Game is serviceable.

@@The_Blank_Guy to me the biggest problem with this game is the balancing, specially late game, but overall yeah i play it more for the exploration and the world than anything else. Im pretty sure thats how they got most their fans, its the unique visual aspect.

I also recently purchased this game and I have also been greatly surprised at how much I end up enjoying it, however this is due to the fact that it is highly highly influenced by the manga Blaine! If anybody knows that manga you'll know what I mean if you know you know, it's basically like you're playing the blame! Video game we never got! I look at it like I'm Killy in the mega structure!

How is it compared to Hellpoint? I loved the exploration - I could look past the clunky combat. Is this game similar?

i wouldnt say its similiar and hellpoint when it comes to movement and combat feels better than Bleak Faith, but the Exploration and Sense of Awe whenever you enter a new zone in Bleak Faith is much better... the world is amazing! but if you enjoyed hellpoint, as weird as that game is xb I would say theres a high chance you will like this one

@@ruikiri oh damn - I thought Hellpoint’s exploration was the best part of it; finding a new area naturally was awesome, rivalling the original Dark Souls imo. If Bleak Faith has even better exploration I might cop it on sale

Just finished it! Amazing atmosphere and environment, thought the lore is quite confusing. Is there any reason to play NG+, i.e. for new armor, bosses or weapons? I read online that the devs were creating a New Game Rebirth mode with a new map and tweaks to the story, but I haven't found out if that ever actually happened.

you can have different looks with the shaders ingame, check on the audio option, and you have more shaders to have while exploring the game

Tbh I tried this game at launch and hated it, but I gave it a chance on ps5 and now I think it's overhated XD. I'm actually loving it!! I love exploration and can forgive quite a bit of jank (I also loved Hellpoint, similar vibes). For 3 devs it's really something special, the world and atmosphere are amazing. And combat is... ok, it's fine lol. The weapons and build variety are really fun. Great vid, really enjoyed it! Also, s on dodge are what got me to give it a chance again lol

Been following this game for a while and was cautiously optimistic about it. Honest take: it’s unplayable. I refunded it after an hour. The atmosphere seems cool and I respect the ambition of the devs, but the movement is just inexcusable. Character control is so janky and unpolished. I wish them well in the future, but this game is awful.

​@@Erosgatesmovement and combat animations can be a little rough but other than I loved it. It was the first game that had me lost and confused since the first time I played dark souls 1. The level design and interconnected world is amazing in my opinion. The combat is decent with a good weapon variety with different skills and abilities per weapon. On occasion weapons in the same class have different move sets. Enemy variety is map based and spawn new enemies per level depending on how far you progress. There's plenty more to praise about the game. Its an AA game made by 3 people and they did great. I'm hoping for a dlc.
