Nah man, to each their own I guess, but I firmly believe devs should never block or cut those wide open empty areas like the buildings block from the beginning of the video (or even put any items in there. Yeah). You see, despite there might be nothing at all (no items, no xp, no mobs, no bosses), the exploration feels so good in this game man, and those empty open areas exist to translate that sense of scale, that bleak grandeur of sorts. Not to mention, it's these kinda places where players can imagine whatever narrative they want using their own imagination, or by analyzing environments, to improve the immersion further. These are like free points into the game's atmosphere, and lore, and it really makes BFF stand out more in the sea of similar games (in theme or in combat) which, however, either point a finger at something somewhere so the Player never misses that, or straight up block the access to these areas entirely which completely ruins the immersion and the game flow. I know not many players would share my point here, but since BFF is already quite a niche game, I just think devs shouldn't casualize the game by changing those areas. They are unique exactly due to their empty nature, and they fit the game's theme perfectly imo. Another positive interpretation of empty areas like these popped into my head while I was writing all that: you see, in games we usually have that separation of (let's call it) 'alive & dynamic foreground where the Player lives' (1) on the one hand, and 'dead & static background where the Stage is set' (2), and usually the Player cannot leave (1) and enter (2) without using bugs, glitches, or straight up cheats to 'go out of bounds'. And it sucks most of the times because sooner or later the Player bumps into an invisible wall, a silly obstacle, or something else that's blocking one's curiosity & artificially puts a barrier onto the Player. It's like saying "Okay, we have huge open world where you can go wherever you want, but not here, not there, and there, whoops, hot there as well". And BFF dodges this problem to some degree by allowing the Player to explore those areas freely, which is just cool af tbh. I'm not counting those areas where the Player should never be in the first place according to general logic & physics (because some confinements should be present, like, say, in the very beginning of the game where the player character falls to their death), but I feel like it's a nice little trait of Bleak Faith which greatly improves its adventurous gameplay aspect. Ah, I remembered my STALKER playthroughs back in 2000s, and man those were the times... Aside from the main story, my best & most memorable hikes there were spent in areas that have little to no anything - no quests, no enemies around, (almost) no mutants or items and stuff - just me & The Zone alone, chillin' and vibing to the sounds of howling wind... and maybe an anomaly (or two) nearby. 😊

@@BmikroB well we are diffrent types of people xb but i see your point, and when it comes to bleak faith in particular maybe you are right... but this game also has a problem with out of bounds areas that stem from this type of design, they just drop a resource somewhere like a building and dont think too much about how that affects exploration... some people like direction others prefer that open feel to games. And while i think its cool that you can climb these things i think most people would probably just think they are wasting their time by doing so plus you can get to out of bounds areas through them. At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference of course :) i say this because on my first run i explored all of them just to be feeling a bit disappointed because its a game and i want to be rewarded for being a good boi but i can also understand enjoying the sense of nothingness that comes from this ruined world that is simply there, not for you, but simply because it is, which is realistic in a way :D

@@ruikiri oh yeah, definitely! I remember watching your og playthrough, man this feels like ages ago, however I looked it up and it was March 2023, how the time flies :)) Back then there was even more jank haha. But yeah, rewards & direction are as important as vibes, and too much of either thing is never healthy - the balance is key, and balancing is always a tough problem to solve. Not kidding, 'the sense of nothingness' fits Bleak Faith 100%, very well said man!

i finally got to play this game, just today i've arrived at that same area you're at now, i'm totally lost, there's so manny paths and confusing things in this game, i kinda love that to be honest, it makes me feel like i'm trully lost in a mega structure...but this game does have an issue with balancing, some enemies just have too much health for no fucking reason, i don't mind if they can inflict a ton of damage, it's alright i just got to avoid it but with a massive health bar? it just get's annoying for no good reason, they should tone it down a bit, like those big guys with dual axes, fuck those guys fr.
