Another way instead of revving 3k since that is quite a bit in the ol girl holding it a few seconds multiple times especially when it's cold, and instead of taking it for a drive incase it may be immobile for whatever reason. Start the truck and turn your heater on hot as it'll go and the fan speed 1 notch before maxed (personal preference) and with a throttle depressor slowly and steadily set the tool holding between say 18-2300 or just 2k is what I do but I say the range incase straight pipes are involved lol. With heat on and idle at 2k grab a drink and chill out while it warms up casually checking for leaks, irregularities in sounds or vibrations and making sure to listen just incase the throttle tool moves around can sometimes lose idle or idle up, and monitor the temp guage. Run it until the fans have cycled and guage is at your typical operating temp. All of this stood be done after you have done the initial bleed he showed on the t-stat housing and with the coolant tank Cap OFF the system will not bubble over or blow out everywhere if the cap is off its only pressurized when hot and cap sealing the system! Once operating temp is met, with cap off, shut off the truck and listen or have someone monitor the tank for the bubbles of air coming out its like a burp nothing to be scared of looking closer to see it! Leave sitting for a solid minute, start the truck again, idle up and verify temp is still 🔥, then shut it off again! Let burp out of tank if it burps again some do some don't. Top it off and your done! NO MATTER WHAT you should always check the level after the first test drive period regardless. A car can burp and look good after 10 repeats but after a good drive or few trips it'll push whatever wouldn't come or prior then. Uncommon but it happens so always double check the work after a few good miles! Doing what I mentioned will bleed it better than any other way initially. And put it to the point that even if did burp 200 miles down the road it won't burp so bad it drops the level that drastically. Chances are you may not even really notice it change! Just always better save than sorry! Coolant is cheap! Headgaskets aren't! Lol

@@Carlos-hu3xb well he sure doesn’t apply, lol he poured straight concentrate in there and never added the water like he said he would. No mechanic would ever add distilled and concentrate separate. Although he tried, he oh so miserably failed. I think the only useful thing about this video is the fact that he showed some people where the bleed screw was 😅

2006-2007 duramax is considered the best via ALOT of people on the internet. With that being said the lml is a solid foundation also. Typical problems with the duramax persist from 2001-2014

2011 LML is a great Duramax motor, which is the same as the 2014. The only thing I dont like about it is the Def tank & DPT.

Stick with Dexcool if you have it in your engine. Adding the green "universal" coolant will turn the coolant to sludge. Dexcool works great if you don't mix it with other coolants.

Always use distilled water with your antifreeze; tap water can have chemicals that can cause electrolysis and corrode aluminum.

Awesome video but misleading. Concentrate and water won’t mix unless you mix it. Always premix outside the vehicle. And alway use distilled water because it’s nonconductive and erosive. If a temperature sensor arcs you run the Risk of killing your ECU.
