The alternate way to tackle this would be to have modeled the low poly mesh as one piece first, then cut it up, save a copy of the low poly before doing this however, then if there’s any shading disconnects you could transfer over the normals from the low poly to the new cut pieces in those places and you’d get near perfect results

For some reason when shift+D the edge at 3:58 it copies the edge but it also comes with a curved line,any solution to that? Edit: Nevermind, it was the subdivision surface modifier,I just unabled it and the curved line went away
