Not a blender newbie, but still learning alot from your course. Hats off for the great work!

Great tutorial. Thanks for the useful tips and for posting something a bit more technical than many videos out there. I've made workarounds to remove the green from the diffuse ray myself but this is a much cleaner way to do it. Thanks!

as a fairly "advanced user" this is the best part of the course for me, i didn't know you could cheat so much with hdri's/sky texture and it's realy solving a lot of problem i been trough, thanks a lot ! i was wondering, i often use the ambiant occlusion texture right before the color of the principled BSDF to make some angle more realistic but i have never seen anyone else do it, is there a reason for that ?
@Chocofur2 жыл бұрын
hi, thanks for your comment! for me personally using the AO texture on a shader would complicate things too much. I would only use it to add some edge "dirt" effect etc.

Great video, thanks, but as a Blender noob, I got the same feeling I had when I once realized I got on the wrong plane at the airport, i.e. I’m doomed😱How the heck could anyone (other than perhaps the developers) ever figure all that out? The connection and setting options are endless.

For some reason Light Path 'Is Camera Ray' setup doesn't work for me. Increasing strength of the Background doesn't change the HDRI exposure (no matter if i put it in the middle of a full setup or at the end). Other Light Paths works well.
@filipe7851 Жыл бұрын
Same here.
@filipe7851 Жыл бұрын
lol Just found out why: You probably have some glass blocking the effect of the camera ray. If you remove the glass or set it up properly, it will work. At least it was my case here.
@Julix00 Жыл бұрын
@@filipe7851 Yes, it is caused by the glass. Unfortunately I didn't find a way to change it so the effect is visible in windows also (despite good glass setup). I guess that's how this works
@geelau55069 ай бұрын
@@Julix00 did you find the solution yet?
@Julix009 ай бұрын
@@geelau5506 It's just how it works, when you delete the window with glass (if you have one but you probably does if you have this problem), you'll see the effect - because the HDRI will be directly seen by the camera. If you have glass between camera and HDRI, the camera will see the "reflection" of hdri in the glass - all light paths except the 'camera ray' path.

Background shader it's from 2.93?
@Chocofur3 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for the comment. Background node is in every Blender version with Cycles rendering engine.
