Correction: The sphere light and geometry light did not match up because I didn't apply the scale on the mesh. Once you do that, they match up pretty well. Thank you Shah Nawaz for point that out.

Thanks, it took me a while to figure out why the lights weren't working. But I couldn't make the spheres themselves invisible.

6:45 The reason the icosphere's brightness wasn't the same as the sphere light's was because you changed the scale of the icosphere in object mode (from 1.000 to 0.250) without applying scale. If you did, then both would be almost the same in brightness. I say "almost" because the sphere light is slightly brighter, and I think this has to do with the fact that the icosphere is emanating light from each face/polygon, whereas the sphere light is more of a metaball like object with no faceting, thus there's a difference in the way they contribute light. This is evident from the fact that when you add the icosphere object again, but this time change the subdivision count from 2 (default) to 5, not only are they virtually identical in brightness now, but the amount of fireflies around the icosphere is also greatly reduced and is about the same as around the sphere light.

Thank you. Completely forgot about resetting the scale.
