Ah, that dynamic paint displacement tool is exactly what I needed! Was going mental trying to animate this manually. Thanks for the tutorial! 🙂

This is a great tutorial! I'm surprised this hasn't got more views, it helped me a ton :)

@@Hollowpixel can you please make a tutorial of interactive grass. for example a ball rolling on a field of grass where the grass interact with the ball like this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIOoi6Wlh66AftE

@@b1na276 hmmm. Theres a lot of ways to do moving grass. Particle hairs are probably the most straight forward. Could prob do with geo nodes or even dynamic paint and shape keys. Any preference?

would this be possible to have the foot prints light up like in avatar instead of making a imprint in the surface?
@Hollowpixel3 жыл бұрын
Sure. You would have to use the attributes from the dpaint canvas to control the factor on a mix node that has the floor and emission shaders plugged into it.

When I try to rotate the SHOEMASTER it doesn't put the shoe copies like your copes at all while also being rotated the wrong way. Would you know why?
@Hollowpixel3 жыл бұрын
The shoes need to be parented to the master. And when animating the master make sure only the master is selected. Whats likely happening is you are moving all objects locally rather than just the master, i would need to see a video to troubleshoot further.

@@Hollowpixel that seems to fix it, but not once I add the displacement it creates low poly displacement upwards rather than creating a footprint like what you created. Would you know why and how to fix it to be more like yours imgur.com/a/VG76fTp I tried to reverse the displacement factor but that didn't seem to fix the issue either.

@@Greencoast8 check that the normals for the feet are facing outwards and the normals for the ground are facing up. If that doesn’t work i may need to take a look at your blend file

@@Hollowpixel Flipped normals helped A lot! Though it still seems to be low rez with the displacement unlike your one and applying the scaling seemed to mess with everything? Also, I would like to thank you for all your help, it's awesome of you and I really appreciate it = ). imgur.com/a/ZPQbwNN

Sir, half of what happened in the clip, I can't find it in my blender version😟😟. Can you write your version? This is my version 3.2.1.
@Hollowpixel2 жыл бұрын
not sure what version i would have used, But what can't you find? If you let me know I can try to run it in 3.2 and let you know what I find
