I have tried to follow this tutorial today, but failed to create a working conveyor belt animation. I got stuck in the follow path part. I couldn't get it to work even after moving the cube up and down, and removing (and adding back) the follow path constraint multiple times. That remedy worked when I was using an older version of Blender back in 2021, but that's not working anymore. For those who need to see how the working scene looks like, here is a blend file from my practice run from 2021. :) drive.google.com/file/d/1UY0R4YCWnY1dzB1y0z1lUTwEB-EsjWnm/view?usp=drive_link

the reason it doesnt work is because you have to apply all transforms to the curve after you convert it from the mesh. Blender is VERY obtuse for the axis it uses within its modifiers, I hate it.

you can fix that on the straight line that it rotates wierd by converting the circle to a curve and than subidiving it 3-4 times

Great tutorial thanks!! Do you think using a simple "array" modifier on the cube could work, instead of duplicating a lot of times? I didn't try yet but just to know what you think

how to return everything to their initial position? I've succeeded in implementing the rigid body settings on both the cube and conveyor but i can't return them to their initial position to restart the design process
@BlenderStudy Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching, mahesakhalifagunawan5225..!! :) This example was made to demonstrate only one way movement of the conveyor belt. :) I don't think we can create a looping animation with this example, because we're not controlling the movement of the cubes. :)

I tried moving and re adding the constraint multiple times yet it didnt work
@BlenderStudy Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching, khadijamalik1596..!! :) Please try this. 1. Create a curve circle. 2. In Object Mode (Tab), Create a cube. 3. On the cube, add a follow path constraint. 4. On the follow path constraint, 5. Set the target as the curve circle. 6. Put a check mark on 'Follow Path', and Click the 'Animate Path' button at the bottom. 7. Press [Space] to play the animation. This is the same concept. If the cube follows the path, that means the follow path animation is working. After this, please try adjusting the curve circle's shape by adding more curve points ("A" to select all, Right Click, and type "S" to subdivide), moving the right side of the curve points to match the shape of the conveyor belt, and re-shaping the cube to match the conveyor belt part.)

How to How to make 90 degree conveyor belt?
@BlenderStudy2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching, Green Tom..!! :) 1. I would create a constantly rotating Rigid Body cylinder. 2. After that, I would array the cylinders to create a straight conveyor track. 3. Then I would use a curve, smoothly rotate it 90 degrees, and apply a curve modifier to the cylinders. 4. If everything goes according to the plan.. Any objects dropped on the track will be transported accordingly..!! 🤣

Can this be imported into Unreal or Unity?
@BlenderStudy2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching, Ashley..!! :) The Rigid Body part needs to be 'Bake to KeyFrames' when it gets exported as FBX with an animation option selected, but even then the errors might occur. For Rigid Body animations, it's best to animate within the game engines themselves. :) For the constraint (path animation) part, I'm not sure if that would work with Unreal, but for Unity, yes, it's possible. answers.unity.com/questions/43652/blender-path-animation-to-unity.html
