Thank you very much for keeping things simple. Too many people over complicate things. That tends to take the pleasure away of getting into certain hobbies.

I was using .44 Cal.Hard Cast Bullets for the .44 Mag. cast from Wheel Weights as media but I stopped. After making 2 lbs. of Powder the Bullets were so worn down the sharp corners were all worn round . I took some old .45 A.C.P. cases and melted the same hard cast .44 bullets to fill the .45 cases and sealed the cases with .44 cal. gas checks crimped in place and coated the gas checks with J B Weld . After one batch I see no wear to the new media after 32 hours milling . I use my Chronographs to compare powder batches to see if my powder is batter than the last batch . I also use them for my Cartridge guns to find out if a particular Primer or Powder combination for my particular Guns for the best uniformity and accuracy with a particular bullet combination. I'm Retired and about the same age as you so this is my Hobby . Don' feel too bad about hitting the chrono I've hit 2 . A scoped Revolver at the end of the day tends to make us miss judge where to aim.

Hey, as long as it’s cleaner than elephant powder your doing good, even then it’s still homemade and you can bring home game with it. Great job Sir!

As long as my home made powder is good and my round Ball hits what I'm shooting at i don't need one of those speed thingers cause you can pretty much tell by the crack of the muzzle loaders sound. Great video 👍👍👍👍👍

I appreciate what you put on your videos, but I am looking for reasonably clean, fast, and consistently repeatable performance. Thank you for being so helpful.

I am really enjoying your videos, I am not going to replicate your hobby but I think it's cool. I was lucky enough to be born in 71 and have a Dad that got bit by the buck skinning bug when I was 9, so all our vacations were at Rendezvous in Montana and Idaho, being raised "in camp" was awesome. Thank you for taking the time to do this for us.

Black powder I think the patch tells more info. I use a chronie with my smokeless with my cast bullets to determine load and limits to avoid leading

Chronographs are just a tool. I just purchased a cheap one for my seeing how certain loads work in my firearm. Every firearm may be different with certain loads. I have a couple rifles in the same caliber and they shoot the loads totally different.

I really do need to get a chrony, not because I don't think my powder will do the job, but because people are actually that unintelligent... "Bro, your gunpowder is weak, you aren't even getting good velocities. " 😂😂😂 I've hunted wild pig with a .50 cal airgun. Took a 498 lbs sow with a copper solid outta that. This is why I say, "if it'll travel horizontal and is as massive (physical) as lead, it's got enough force to kill." Velocities is useful outside of 150 yards, and by that point, you're not shooting for lethality. You're shooting for precision. I've always enjoyed precision, and I like accuracy. However, my firearms are first and foremost, a lethal extension of my body, nothing more. My weapon is my mind. Therefore, I see it as the means to an end. Not the goal. The goal, is the cleanest, most powerful powder I can make with what I've got access to. The great thing about black powder, is once it's mixed well enough and pucked properly, it has all it needs to build the pressure necessary to get plasmation to do the rest of the work for me. This gives wider spreads, but that doesn't matter inside 300 yards, with conicals.

@lamebeavertradingco.1642 It's from an EBP video, where I was explaining my method for making black powder. Spoonmilling is not the conventional method, because it's not automated. People think it's not potent enough because they see the chrony readings in other people's videos, and so they think that just because I'm not running a chrony, that's license to troll me and whatnot. I was affirming your suppositions, nothing else. 🤝

@@guardsmanom134 That's What I thought. Just like some think screening your powder makes week powder. Or longer mill time makes stronger powder. What I have been achieving with my powder is with a 12 Bottle Jack, and some have already stated a 12 ton jack is not good enough, then throw the psi figures 12 ton vs 20 ton then precede to state the more dense the powder the more power full it will become. For the most part Black Powder has a predictable burn rate, give or take. If one puts more powder then the gun is capable of burning then the rest burns on the way to the ground. I may just do a video on this soon. Thank You

@lamebeavertradingco.1642 you and I think on relatively similar terms. I've been doing this since I was 4, and so it's actually not new for me, either. Some myths I've personally busted, are... "Black powder has to be run through a ball mill to even work." "Black powder guns that are loaded incorrectly will create a pipe bomb." "Black powder that burns faster is more powerful than black powder that burns slower." "Black powder that isn't made by milling for 72 hours won't be as clean." "Black powder has to be made by using a scale to weigh your ingredients first, or you'll have powder that doesn't work. " Are you seeing a trend, here, brother? 🙄🤭🤣🤣🤣
