18:52 As a comment to Osage orange. I have heard that misquet burns even hotter than Osage orange which may make.a better carbon source. Just a thought.. THANKS. Lots of fast burning 🔥 powder excellent video.. the chronograph should show the difference between all the different types of blackpowder..

That is correct about mesquite (I think I spelled correctly) I do know it pops very badly. I have tried to forge with it and have stopped using for that reason.

In your video, you showed some small particles of KNO3 after the burn test of the Osage Orange black powder. This raises a question for me, are you recrystallizing your KNO3 before you use it? If you are not, those particles could simply be impurities in your potassium nitrate that remain unburned.

@@Hilljack69 It does burn very hot. So does Juniper, and also lasts a very long time in the ground as fence posts.

Have you ever thought about when the three was cut. Like firewood was the sap up or down just food for thought. That’s where my next test will be.

Bois d' Arc Pronunciation Bo-darq. Does 80 grains of 4f by weight have the same Fps as 80 grains of 2f from the same batch of powder? Which is cleaner burning? 👍
