I love your videos! I’ve been a candle maker for 4 years now and most of my business has come from word of mouth and craft shows. I recently started venturing online. Opened and Etsy store and got a website. It’s been a lot of hard work but inspires me to see other candle makers success stories with Etsy and websites. Would love to swap a candle or two one day.

If u do blend oil together,how do u measure? 2 drops this ,3 of that? And then put it in a measure spoon,for an ounce? Like if you put them on a tips in a bag,how would you transfer,to actual product?
@MemoryBoxCandleCo4 жыл бұрын
You measure it all by weight. You need a scale (I recommend a gram scale) and then you’ll know exactly how much weight of each scent you are putting into the pitcher

Hi! Sorry I am commenting so late on this video. I am starting my own candle business and your videos have been so encouraging! I love watching your videos because they are informative and entertaining! I was wondering, when doing fragrance tests, is the jar a factor? Like, should I be using the jar type I would be selling the candles in to do the throw test? Or would it be ok to buy inexpensive vessels to do the test? Especially since I would be testing so many different fragrances. Sorry if that did not make any “scents” (me being funny through candle puns 😂)
@MemoryBoxCandleCo4 жыл бұрын
It is extremely important to use the vessel you will be selling your candles in to do all of the testing! You have to keep all of the factors the same! ❤️❤️

I love Lemon Crazy too. I use it in soap and I use it stand alone and blended. Why am I on a candle site? I make candles too. But only apricot coconut creme wax and a beeswax which I only use honey fragrance in. I recently bought joy wax and will give it a whirl too. Apricot coconut creme wax is very expensive and I only use it in it's pure color and with only specific high end scents. Clients want colored candles, so I am trying a soy based wax for those and broadening my scent base in those as well. Any wax suggestions?

I’ve only ever tried soy 10 for soy and it’s been a wonderful wax to work with. But I know others have gotten great results with other soy waxes!

Most FO's indicate whether it is considered "skin safe" or made specifically for candle wax use only. The best way to determine this would be to refer to the manufacturer or label guide for each FO for clear and accurate instructions for any skin-based formulations. Hope this helps!
@iBroadcastRealShit3 жыл бұрын
Hey! Candle Science actually indicates whether the FO oil is made for candles, skin, or both.

Hey! Appreciate your videos, they are so helpful! I am only a month or so into wax melt making. All of my scents are custom blend of other scents. Thank you! (:

Hello! I have one doubt, is it possible to blend different brands of fragrance oils? I made a candle with caramel, vanilla and lemon, each one from different shops. I used 9-10% and the result was colored oil (like orange) at the botton of the candle. Very ugly, like oxide around the metal base of the wick. And bubbles of oil at the bottom as well. Why this happened?
@denisel66393 жыл бұрын
You can absolutely blend oils from different companies. I do it all the time. Usually "bad" colors come from the amount of Vanillin in the oils. This can discolor your wax but doesn't typically interrupt the performance of the wax. It sounds more like you didn't mix the oils well enough into the wax before pouring.
