1 Up Calv'ry's mountain one dreadful morn Walked Christ, my Savior, weary and worn; Facing for sinners death on the cross, That He might save them from endless loss. Chorus: Blessed Redeemer! Precious Redeemer! Seems now I see Him on Calvary's tree; Wounded and bleeding, for sinners pleading- Blind and unheeding- dying for me! 2 "Father, forgive them!" thus did He pray, E'en while His lifeblood flowed fast away; Praying for sinners while in such woe- No one but Jesus ever loved so. [Chorus] 3 O how I love Him, Savior and Friend, How can my praises ever find end? Thro' years unnumbered on heaven's shore, My tongue shall praise Him forevermore. [Chorus]

Reminds me of the Baptist church I grew up in. We sang this the night I was baptized when I was 12.

Look at all those wonderful young people. Excellent. And on a Wednesday night? Amazing.

most likely that is how they were raised and continue to be so.

There's a independent baptist college nearby and it's mandatory to attend baptist church on Sundays and Wednesday nights

Aren't denominations nonsense. I'm a Presbyterian believer who loves the LORD. This music is so uplifting Wishe we could all worship as the family of Christ. He is LORD!

I appreciate your comment. I grew up in churches like this one & I know the hymns. At age 74 and housebound, they lift my spirit. I started visiting a PCA church before COVID & it was a small church w/ people who passionately loved the Lord, really warmed my heart. But I did miss this kind of music.

It's not nonsense. Labels are good. I'm glad there's labels on cans of food so I know what I'm picking up off the shelf. I'm glad a church has the name Baptist because then I immediately know they believe in salvation by faith alone and that baptism is by immersion after salvation. If a church has the name "Catholic", I immediately know they believe in salvation by works, so that I can avoid it.

This was my granddaddy's favorite hymn. It had been on my mind all day, so I decided to see if I could find a congregation or group singing it on KZbin. Thank you for posting it. I love being able to find a church that still sings hymns from the hymnal. It was so refreshing! I pray that your church is continuing to be a blessing to people of all ages.

Beautiful. Thanks for posting. It's pretty much exactly what I wanted to hear: Blessed Redeemer sung by a congregation, amateur pitch and timing included.

For some reason, I was humming this hymn when I got up this morning(05/03/2023) & I can see & hear my Mama singing it with a sweet soprano voice. I am hearing songs she loved to sing & I know why, you see, she passed away on May 16, 2023, at her house where she had lived for 50+ years. It's difficult to believe it's been nearly a year & I miss her & my dad very much. He passed on October 26, 2004.

Paul sang when he was in prison. Singing is also useful for giving our spirit an uplift. I lost my parents 2 and 3 years ago. When fond memory turns to gloom I sing their favorite songs, hoping that they can hear it!

Amazing hymn. How in the world do you all fill your church on a Wednesday night? That is tremendous.

perhaps it has something to do with the fact that this is an "independent" baptist church, and theres and "independent" baptist college close by which requires its students to be in church sun morn, sun nite and wed nite. (heartland baptist bible college)

Wonderful hymn, thanks for posting! It's a blessing to me in GA, 74 years old and have not found a church here which sings the hymns, even independent Baptist. My great-nephew is a student at Heartland BBC and goes to this church. I wish I could visit!
