That’s actually a really good insight. There’s a lot of magic that can be taken from creatures in MLP. (think: Ponies can lose their cutie mark magic as in the Cutie Map, or their species-specific magic as seen by Tyrek’s powers, not sure if they lost cutie marks in that one.) Maybe hope is a magic, too.

What’s kinda of interesting is the idea of a pony turning grey when the loses hope is something that’s happened often in the show. It’s happened to Pinkie multiple times, and it happened to Twilight when the other five got Discorded cause he never hypnotized her(and it could even be argued that it happened to rest of them two when they were brainwashed, that slowly they lost hope of returning to normal and that’s why over time they became more and more faded)

First impression: This really reminds me of the Discord episode - the one where the girls became all gray and express more negative thoughts/emotions due to Discord’s powers. And it has some elements of the Starlight episode, with the town where everyone was ‘equal’. I’m getting the feeling that this place was effected by something, and these townspeople may be stuck in time....I just get the feeling that all this negativity in the town is causing everyone to be gray. Final Impressions: Welp, I was wrong.

I think it would be two episodes' worth still (covering two half-hour blocks), but I agree that they did well with what they had. What I love about episodes like this - at least in my opinion - is how you may know what goes on by the end, but it's the journey everyone brings you on that makes such an experience. Actually didn't have a chance to watch it until now, and I'm glad that I got to watch it with your commentary.

Apparently it originally WAS gonna be the sequel to the theatrical movie. But I guess they realised they couldn't really stretch this plot out to feature length, and the stakes weren't really high enough for a theatrical release, so they made it an extended TV short instead

But the hope that you and your friends are bringing, miss Dash, is finally starting to return the vibrancy of this town. (I'm comparing it to how Santa showed up in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe when the hope the Pevensies brought weakens Jadis' eternal winter spell.)

Hey Blank. I personally liked this video. Done in Toon Boom animation and fitting in right around the time frame of the MLP Movie. The new TB puppets are very expressive and the 'look' is pretty good overall. I agree that the color swapped 'big mac' was a bit of a 'let down' stylistically, but that's a minor issue. The colors, once imposed upon everything made a Vast difference in the scenes. And with the various ponies depicted thusly. I'll also mention that my favorite of the non-mane six was Kerfuffle. I really liked the energy and enthusiasm of the pony with a rear artificial leg. She turned out to be a white coated Pegasus, but that was their call... I probably would have gone with a almost white - very light blue, with a color contrasting mane and tail. The Junior Wonderbolts are my 2nd faves, followed by the Repair Pony. The bashful Mayor Sunny Skies and his friend, and soon to be wife, Petunia Petals for my 4th place... and the 'non-exclusive ex-manehattanites and their grouchy neighbor take 5th place. The story wasn't as bad as you seemed to think, and it did have to cram a lot of extra ponies in for the Mane Six to interact with to find out how to solve the issue. Oh, on a personal note... I do things for others, and usually don't ask for repayment. Even when the person(s) insist, I merely say 'Pay it forwards', by telling them to help someone else. That's payment enough for me. Although, from you, I'd take a 'Blank Check' (pony-naps you!) hehehe. :) Keep making videos and I'll keep watching them! :) speaking Frank-ly the Frank Pony, Rhymer. (I chose Rhymer for my Unicorn name, since I am a published poet and writer). P.S. I don't think this was Vanhoover... But might be close by, judging from the accents.

I noticed the huge eyes, small mouths, and more rounded features in the movie. I still reckon this animation style makes them look three. Also, the heart shape of the hooves is what they actually look like. The inner line they follow includes the frog (soft centre of the hoof). Just thought I'd add that little fact.
