Within the first minute, I was felt ecstatic over what was to transpire here in this episode. Because Michael Vogel wrote this story (after the success of “Frenemies”), I knew that I was gonna enjoy this one too. Bringing the Summer Sun Celebration to the table one last time was a cool idea. Having the villains involved in this plot was very interesting, one of the greatest things about this episode. Another is seeing the character progression for Twilight. I really appreciate the shift she went through in this episode, from being stressed about tough situations that comes her way to being calm and collected enough to overcome them. It really shows how much of a great leader she’s turning into. Once again, S9 has created another gem of an episode, one that puts you on the edge of your seat and delivers an very interesting story (at least that’s how I feel). In a nutshell, I really enjoyed this episode and your reaction to it!

It's so great Twilight is chill to solve real problems, but still freaks out about unimportant things, like the Trivia last episode, it's her scape goat. It's an interesting way to develop the character without changing her personality.

4 Things I wanna say about this episode, 1. This is one of the best Episodes of the Entire Series for me, It's REALLY good, 2. I just noticed that 19:56 "There are two ponies who have watched over us night and day" if you notice, Dr. Whooves thinks for a second and brings Rose in for a Hug at that very moment, fairly Subtle but a nice touch, 3. The Whole Montage of them Fixing the Festival and the 3 Stooges looking for the Book as well as the Festivities begging is really beautiful and well made and I've got to say that as Celestia tears up, so do I and 4. This Episode may seem to have "rushed" Twilight's Character Growth, but what I believe happened is, she realized that she needs to unleash all her "Freak-Out Fuel" somewhere that doesn't hurt, such as a Trivia Night which is something I really like

When I first saw this Ep I kept asking the question "Can't Discord feel when Tirek stole magic" and that solider clearly saw Cozy AND Tirek, and yet said nothing. Was he 'taken care of' or what? Overall this was a fun Ep. ^^ Good to see the 3 villains interacting again. Their last Ep was so good, and while not the key focus, it was good to see them again. They need their own spinoff. Also Discord saying he could fix everything and then vanished was an awesome joke on his part. Why fix everything while effort is important for the characters?

The thing about characters acting 'out of character' is... real people do that too. Everyone has done something that they've looked back at and said "Wow, that wasn't like me at all." and have certainly seen other people do the same. We can't know everything about everyone, their past, or how much they're barely holding something in, so people are always going to surprise us. Then again, the really angry people are probably the same ones that would disown a good friend over a trivial mistake so...

I have a theory for Cozy Glow. She wanted to become an alicorn princess, but being a pegasus instead of a unicorn, that would prove to be extremely difficult, not to mention making her a target for people telling her it's basically impossible to get what she wants. That's most likely why she tried to drain magic out of Equestria and named herself "empress" instead of "princess": to change the entire status quo and create a whole new Equestrian hierarchy where she would have the most power through friendship instead of the alicorns who were mostly all unicorns. (Cadence was a pegasus, but she's the Princess of Love which is based on emotions instead of magic power, which Cozy undoubtedly focused on.)

After that whole sibling rivalry game Shining Armor threw at the castle, I still think it's a bad move to keep the remains of Chrysalis' old throne inside. Why? Because with the latter still at large with the other villains, she can easily shape-shift into any creature and sneak her way through very easily. And that nervous wreck pony with his weather arrangements? He sounds like Russell Ferguson and Edd (and yes, I'm aware it's the same voice actor). This episode is a game changer. In more ways than one. Here are my highlights: 0:44-0:48 The Legion of Doom. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 0:48-1:06 Grogar sets out to find another great source of magical power. I'm still not entirely convinced he doesn't know about the other three having the bell. 1:07 The way Cosy says that line. 1:09-1:17 Tirek, Chrysalis and Cosy Glow are still planning to double-cross Grogar. 1:17-1:48 The three have no idea how the bell works. They decide to break into the Canterlot archives to steal a book that could help. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 1:21 Yeah - I don't think just shaking it is going to do anything, Tirek. 1:44-1:56 "Roadtrip! Also, Applegeek's reaction - I love that song. 2:27-2:41 Twilight is making preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration. Celestia and Luna are surprised how calm and well-organised she is. 2:41-2:48 Applegeek says it for me. 2:41-2:57 Twilight acknowledges how she usually freaks out and wants to show how much she's improved since the Royal Swanifying Ceremony. Also, CONTINUITY! 2:57-3:04 Instead of shouldering all of the responsibility, Twilight has focused on delegating and trusting others. Applegeek is amazed, and so am I. 3:02-3:26 Celestia and Luna inform Twilight this will probably be the last Summer Sun Celebration she'll have to organise. Since the holiday has always been about them (i.e. defeating Nightmare Moon and reuniting as sisters), they don't see a need for it after they retire. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 3:26-3:50 Celestia and Luna have decided Twilight is ready to take the throne. They now know exactly when they'll be retiring. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 3:33-3:45 Celestia and Luna symbolically passing the torch. 3:50 Applgeek's mind is blown. 3:50-3:56 That line and Applegeek's reaction. 4:03-4:13 Rainbow Dash prays Twilight doesn't give them more work to do. Unfortunately, she does. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 4:13-4:23 DISCORD! Also, Applegeek's reaction. 4:23-4:36 Discord reminisces about his past with Celestia and Luna - he's as funny as ever. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 4:36-4:52 Discord is expecting a long and detailed list of changes. Instead, Twilight just gives everyone a small note card - except him. 4:44-4:49 That remark. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 4:52-5:03 Rainbow Dash admits they were expecting the same thing as Discord. But Twilight says her days of lengthy lists are over. 5:03-5:12 Meta joke about character growth XD. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 5:06-5:13 Since he asked nicely, Twilight give Discord a note card too. 5:13-5:23 Twilight decides to rewrite her speech. Also, Discord teleports everyone away. 5:25-5:32 Tirek, Cosy and Chrysalis realise they've picked a bad night to raid the Canterlot archives - every pony in the city is awake. 5:30-5:32 It's "Summer Sun Celebration", Cosy. Don't you know your own culture? 5:32-5:38 That's a good question. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 5:35-5:50 Chrysalis thinks it won't be a problem getting into the castle. But then she notices the fans preventing any creature from flying in. Also, Episode 200 continuity! 5:45-5:50 To answer both your questions: yes. 5:50-6:23 Chrysalis disguises herself as one of the Canterlot guards. However, she can't get in because she doesn't have one of the magic medallions - hers is just a fake and doesn't work. It's great to see that Shining Armour's defences are effective. 6:12-6:23 Quick thinking there, Chrysalis - you almost got caught red-handed (hoofed). 6:24-6:30 Two questions: Where did that chessboard come from? And how are they going to get inside? 6:30-6:32 I said it first, Applegeek. 6:31-6:34 Dash doesn't appreciate Discord suddenly teleporting them. Also, how does nobody see those three hiding there?! 6:37 Discord as a School of Friendship cheerleader. 6:42-7:08 The Mane 6, Spike and a Discord read their tasks. Discord's job is to just make sure he doesn't do anything "discord-y". Also, Applegeek's reaction. 7:08-7:30 Tirek realises how impossible their break-in mission seems. But Chrysalis gets the idea to use the preparations as a distraction. I sense sabotage. 7:31-7:50 Pinkie and Applejack check-in with the Appleloosa ponies, including Braeburn. They need them to make new cookies before the sunrise. 7:35-8:07 That's not tasting, that's eating, Pinkie. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 8:04-8:07 Pinkie thinks she sees a "suspicious-looking cookie." Also, Applegeek's reaction. 8:07-8:48 Tirek hides in the bushes, secretly draining ponies of their energy to make it look like food-poisoning. Plus, he steals a pie for himself. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 8:49-9:29 Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash inform a distressed weather co-ordinator about the new pattern Twilight needs. Applegeek says it for me. Also, I still think "Twilighting" should be added to the Webster's dictionary. 9:20-9:24 Not helping, Dash! 9:29-9:52 Cosy approaches and offers to help the co-ordinator. Of course, her only real goal is sabotage. Also, how does this guy not recognise the filly who was sent to Tarturus? Surely it would be national news? 9:49-9:52 Cosy's face. 9:52-10:22 Spike and Rarity check-in on the unicorns providing the fireworks. They seem to like the new challenge. 9:57-10:01 Rarity's smile. 10:08-10:12 A very good question, Applegeek. She's the perfect pony for this. 10:12-10:16 Okay, a bit of an attitude there. 10:22-11:07 Chrysalis dawns her old pony disguise - the one with the ladybug cutiemark - and convinces the unicorns they could do better with their magic. 10:35-10:39 Crackle Coset? What a name. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 10:39-10:41 That face. 11:02-11:04 Disguised Chrysalis' face. 11:07-11:18 Twilight is happy with how things are (seemingly) going. Twilight accepts. 11:48-11:57 The Mane 6 and Spike are proud of Twilight's character growth. 11:57-12:25 The Mane 6 are suddenly informed of everything that's going wrong: the food is missing, everypony is too weak to bake, the weather has turned into a storm, and the unicorns won't perform as they think fireworks are beneath them. 12:25-12:39 The Mane 6 observe the chaos and suspect Discord. He quickly denies it. Also, Applegeek's reaction. 12:31 Hi Raindrops. 12:38-13:20 The Mane 6, Spike and Discord are desperate to hide the chaos from Twilight. Applejack isn't that happy that everypony is being dishonest...again. 12:42-12:45 Those faces. 12:50-13:06 Rainbow Dash's face. 13:05-13:08 Applejack's face. 13:08-13:16 Rarity's face. 13:20-13:28 Applejack's face. 13:22-13:27 Pinkie suggests that they fix everything before Twilight notices. Yes, that was an awesome episode. Everyone's improving a lot in their ways. Twilight and friends in their harmonious ways, and the trio of evil in their malicious ways... through harmony. So, now we wait and see what happens next. I'm sad that this series is going to end, but I'm sure that it will go in a massive bang and a really high note. :)

I had nothing to say about this episode cuz this went so smoothly. 😂 But the security of the castle still looks lame. Now, creating disharmony between the three tribes... What are the chances that the Windigos are an actual thing, and the villains will have to rule a winterous wasteland? Poke Dino We should take what the writers with a grain of salt remember lauren faust is the creator after all even if she’s no longer on the staff she still has say in what is canon and what isn’t so unless she herself said it there’s a chance they’re alive but I’m pretty sure she actually did also say that. If they were alive the show itself would have addressed it. They haven’t as far as I’m aware so unless a canonical comic comes out that says they’re alive until then they’re dead...

Gotta admit, it was good seeing Twilight finally kicking her twilighting to the curb, although we may get to see some trouble between the 3 pony tribes if that last line of conversation between Cozy & Chrissy is any indication.
