Thank you so much for these videos. I’m currently going through a pretty rough time in my life, I’m trying to get off opiate painkillers that I’ve been dependent on for years. I am reducing my dose bit by bit and it is incredibly physically and mentally challenging. Your videos have really helped me to relax and get past some pretty rough moments of cravings and weakness. I have begun learning blender because of you and it really is inspiring to see what you create next, and gives me hope that I will have a good hobby to look forward to when I finally get out of this addiction hell. So I’d like to thank you for giving my brain something to occupy itself with , it really is appreciated man.

Wow man. It’s rare (and very nice actually) to see people finding solace, drive, hope, motivation and more in this community. A statement that art and creativity (digital or traditional) can even help heal someone. Good luck with this endeavor.

Blender is fun doing low poly modeling. When you apply the sub surface modifier and you have to deal with 100 loop cuts as holding edges the fun goes out of the window!

Just do it properly and use bevels instead, lol

Just wanted you to know that I find these 10 minute challenges fascinating and inspiring. It gives me hope that my projects can be done, rather than end up being decade long dust collectors in some folder. Also, you have a very soothing voice, just saying!

I've recently discovered that if you hold the [ctrl] key, you can push the faces along the normals of the inset. No need to inset, then extrude.

Very nice, great idea on creating an emissive palette.
@Kimb40003 жыл бұрын
Even though you thought you didn't provide a tip, covering the emission and colouring variations were very helpful to me. Not having the screen cast keys is a little test to see if your followers have been paying attention and could fill in the keys!

Fun render! also FYI, you said you enabled GPU, but blender was using your CPU. If you want to use your GPU for rendering in the future you'll want to do the following; Edit>Preferences>System> the choose according to; Nvidia(non-rtx): CUDA then select your GPU Nvidia(RTX): Optix then select your GPU AMD: OpenCL then select your GPU (not too sure about this one as I don't own one) Then every time you open blender you'll still have to select GPU in the drop down, If you update it you'll also need to redo this process. Hope this helped!!! :)
@flareside2593 жыл бұрын
Was going to say this, but ill add in the system preferences under CUDA / Optix select BOTH GPU and CPU and it will use both at the same time.

Hi, I just found your tutorials recently and they're great! One question: I watch some of your other, longer tutorial, got the viewport settings for Solid mode with ridges and cavity and shadow, looks really nice. But when I'm trying to follow this tutorial here, I have a small problem: the colors that are the same in both versions of the palette, and therefore emissive, look just like they're supposed to (and everything looks perfect in Rendering mode), but the colors that have black in the palette connected to Emission are shown as black in the viewport, meanwhile on your screen they're neutral grey. Makes it really hard to select when everything is so dark. I'm using Blender 2.92. Is there some setting to fix it? OK, so it seems like some glitch on my side, somehow related to duplicating the image texture node.

I wonder if you could try some voxel modeling: Since the current craze of NFT's is getting people excited about metaverse's such as SANDBOX. In addition to the Meebits that just dropped in the last week. Maybe you can add some insight on voxels vs. low poly.

Hello! Something is bothering me and I wonder if you could put my mind to rest! When you show your rendering settings, your GPU option is greyed out, and when you are doing rendering at the end, I'm seeing a lot of rendering tiles as if it's only using the CPU, and also the camera freezing during the render makes it look like you got CPU capped! Do you know if this was actually rendering with the GPU? I've definitely had this happen to me before where I've switched back to Cycles and it's not remembered or bugged out what device I'm using to render, and had to go back into preferences and unselect / reselect my GPU for it to work again :)
