This man's screw up almost got us killed. He is a testament to how officers are protected from scrutiny for making bad decisions and praised and given medals for their lies. His story about what happened, and his description of the bomber is untrue. The stryker in front of the bomber was about 25 meters. OUR stryker was parallel to the bomber at about 20 feet. He only fired ONE warning shot. The man WAS driving a silver Opel. He was a college age kid, white pinstripe long sleeve shirt, not clean shaven but stubble, wearing glasses. I know this because I was there, in the rear air guard hatch. Myself and two others bandaged LT's face and kept him awake. Notice in every interview and testimony, he give's no mention of the soldier's with him or who else was wounded in the attack, It's all about him.

This is nothing compared to all the Iraqis that died and were tortured by the US. If he never invaded Iraq he would be fine, it's pretty simple. No sympathy given to this fool.
@TheJXP59 жыл бұрын
It's really not his fault. He truly believes he is fighting for his family/ Nation. The government has instilled an idea of heroism and honor to war to encourage it's people to willingly lay down their lives for their cause whatever it may be. They tell us that Freedom is something you have to fight for overseas, and that if we don't our families are in danger. So to protect our "freedom" they brainwash people into thinking they're heroes, strap big guns on them and send them over to do their dirty jobs in the name of "freedom". It's disgusting really. If anything such acts threaten our "freedom" (whatever that means)...
@Ffollies9 жыл бұрын
TheJXP5 Well if you apply that logic to foreign forces too that would be fine. In other words just blame the leaders, not the individual soldiers. After all the soldiers are just "following orders" right? My problem is that all too often people like you only apply that logic to Americans fighting overseas. Tell me if I'm wrong about you though.
@TheJXP59 жыл бұрын
+Ffollies Men are either kings or pawns in this life, American or not. All soldiers believe their cause is the noble one.
