This is so fcking beautiful and reminiscent of the modesty that live in them I love how the meaning of the song appears when performed live : when Hansi stops to sing and the public starts singing on its own for some long seconds, you know that their bard’s song will remain and their stories will be remembered even after them. It always takes me to the throat

@@warbunny13203 ... PW who? (BTW, the only metal acts I'm familiar with that can be reasonably abbreviated into PW would be Powerwolf, which I _doubt_ is what you meant here given your implied Eagleland pride. And if that's the case, I'd shut up because I haven't been listening to any NAPM acts {all my power metal cuisines coming from the other side of the Atlantic} and know, if from TVTropes, that EUPM develops differently from NAPM ^^;)

In my last will, I've specified that this is the song I want to be played at my funeral (which might be coming sooner than expected). I think it embodies the whole spirit of being a "bard", an entertainer, a musician, and how it feels like to leave this world, but also leave something to be enjoyed behind. Thank you forever, Blind Guardian.
