Luv how they mocked how many times the Batman origin story has been told.

I love it when Harley puts her psychiatric Ph.D. to good use. It's a part of her character that hasn't really been explored much in other versions.

Yeah, I HATE how in comics she's treated like she's a dumb bimbo and Ivy is treated like a one dimensional vixen. They are both Ph.Ds!! I want more of THOSE sides of both of them.

Genuinely might be one of my favourite episodes of batman content ever. Edit: they managed to actually make the Wayne family death hit emotional like it hasn’t it for a long time (because of repetition)

Fun fact, the Robin we see Harley fall into and become is Tim Drake, as we know Harley didn’t become Harley until after Joker killed Jason Todd, as stated in the season 2 flashback episode.

Not only do I love that Harley puts her Ph.D to use, but she also becomes Bruce’s official therapist! I absolutely want that to be canon in the comics and movies now.

I know this show is mostly comedy... but this is legitimately my favorite version of Bruce Wayne ever. The other shows/movies do a great job with Batman the character... but Bruce's story often gets played as a plot device. This season puts Bruce at the forefront, shows his pain, his trauma, his origins. It's the deepest look at Bruce himself we've ever gotten imo.

God, this episode is so good. It perfectly delves into the psychology of Batman.

Possibly my favorite Harley Quinn episode! Just for reference, Batman: The Animated Series was not the first Batman cartoon, there was one essentially based off of the Adam West 60s series before it (as well as Superfriends). However, when people think "Batman cartoon" they think BTAS - and most importantly, BTAS was where Harley Quinn was introduced so it's a PERFECT callback!

I found it interesting that 1977's *_New Adventures of Batman_* from Filmation (the one I watched as a kid¹) starred *Adam West* and *Burt Ward.* And yet, the 1968 *_Adventures of Batman_* didn't. ··•●✺●•·· ¹ ─ I was 10 when it came out, and I watched reruns of the 1968 cartoon prior to that.

They actually went into the Warner Archives & got to use the actual backgrounds from Batman TAS for the some the sequences in Bruce's head, which I think is pretty neat.

This is pretty easily one of my favorite (if not my favorite) episodes of the show, if only for the interesting concepts and psychologies for the characters it explores.
@JenABlue-ed1bw Жыл бұрын
This is such a good episode. Easily best of the season, one of the best of the series. What I love about this show, and why I consider it the definitive depiction of Harley, is that it never forgets that Harley is a brilliant psychiatrist who presents herself as a ditz, not the other way around. BTAS wasn't the first. There were earlier Batman cartoons in 1968-9 and 1977.

In this universe Harley joined Joker was post Joker killing Jason.. Does that mean the Robin in the memory was meant to be Tim? I would love see Tim Drake in this in the future. This was an great episode. I really like how this Thomas Wayne movie was a domino effect for Bruce's mental health and we have just been seeing him sink more and more. His depression just gets worse and worse. That is played into why he has been so smothering in his relationship with Selena. It is heartbreaking that subconsciously Bruce won't move on because bye feels he deserves to feel this pain for getting his parents to walk home that night.

A joke about the mustache is that WD wasked Henry Cavill to shave it off, saying they would pay Paramount the cost to CGI the mustache back in, which would probably have looked awful. Paramount`s response was basiclaly "if it`s so easy, they why don't you CGI the moustache out of your scenes instead?" and we all saw how that turned out.
@CommanderSteelTrap Жыл бұрын
Actually WB did some CGI tests to show Paramount that it’s easier to add facial hair than to remove it and showed that it looks a lot better. Paramount still refused.

There were three animated series with Batman before TAS, going back to the 60s: The Adventures Of Batman - 1968-1969 Super Friends - 1973-1986 The New Adventures Of Batman - 1977 Batman: The Animated Series - 1992-1995 And of course, this ignores things like guest staring on Scooby Doo episodes and such.

There definitely were *Batman* cartoons before the Animated Series. And I don't mean _Superfriends._ There were 2 seasons of _The Adventures of Batman_ in 1968. My favorite (as a kid) being _The New Adventures of Batman¹_ from Filmation Studios. That was from 1977 (I was ten). I really liked that one (minus Bat-mite). *EDIT:* I have this memory of it having a rather dark color pallet. ··•●✺●•·· ¹ ─ I didn't remember this, but when I just now played the opening credits from KZbin apparently *Adam West* and *Burt Ward* are the voices of the 1977 show.

One of the best episodes they put out. The writers cant resist putting their trash socialist ideals and resentment completely out of the way, but it's mostly out of the way.
