Great video!! thanks!! I'm considering this camera over the Arlo Q. I like the idea that it is battery operated and I don't need to be concerned about weather the electricity maybe out for a moment during video collection. I'm not sure how video collection maybe effected by the Blink Sync Module. It looks like that needs to be plugged in. Is it still possible to collect video if there is an electrical outage with the Blink Camera?

I like the video however I feel like you could improve with giving some cons. To every product their are pros and cons. For instance you cant pan the camera, picture is 720 rather than 1080. Does it zoom (if you mentioned this I apologize.) Again good video and appreciate it just some ideas how to go from good to great. Wish you all the best though!

+Elias Perez Hi Elias I am going to be reviewing the Arlo soon too, but in meanwhile what I can say about Blink, it is very easy and straight forward to use very simple to configure and all you need to do is make an account on the app and you are all set. The differences are: arlo has a 1080p camerea and waterproof. Blink has a 720p camera. But if you look at the price difference it is huge Blink is only $79 where the Arlo is $200+ But I cannot say anything else until I have the unit in my hands. until then please subscribe and thank you so much for watching.

+Sherene Carroll When it comes to a simple installation you cant get any easier, the cameras have microphones so you will be able to listen in. You will only be able to view the cameras one at the time on live mode. But the notifications and cloud saving is great

Naturally, Blink will pump its camera, but not answer questions. FYI - the light on the camera is bright white, not infrared LED.

yeap i can do that also the android app will be releasing very soon and will do the review. :) As for the range i have left the sync module near my router and the camera pick up in every room If you need the wifi to reach further you could easly just place the sync module somewhere in the middle and it will do the job. I ordered Blink today, before realizing the Android app isn't out yet.....Duh! lol Hopefully it'll be released before I receive the unit. I ordered the base model, with one camera to start, and if it works out, will add a few more cameras and maybe an alarm. My home isn't that big, I more or less want to monitor ecord my hallway, pointing towards entry way and living room to start. Do you know if I will be able to pre-set times to auto-arm the unit, or do I have to do it manually every time, or always leave it on? I hate to waste storage space for video captured while I'm home. Id rather program it to arm just after I leave for work, and disarm just around the time I get home. Any info is much appreciated, and thank you for taking the time to post this intro!

HibMichael at the moment there is no option to set time to arm and disarm the camera, but in future updates there are going to be more featurea like the onboard storage with the usb etc. But the android app is now on google play :)

I just set up my Blink system, and it should be noted that while it's very easy to get it up and running, the motion detector feature DOES NOT WORK from the other side of a window. The picture was great, and I thought I had found the perfect locations to keep them out of the elements, but the IR beam reflects off the glass and the motion sensor will not trigger AT ALL. Remove the window from the equasion and they work GREAT. Frustrating process figuring that one out.....

Maybe the reflection from the window try putting it close to the window and are there lights close by from the inside ? also set the sensitivity to the max.

This type of motion sensor cannot see thru glass. It just sees the glass.

+James Yuen the blink xt is compatible with existing sync modules, the only thing you need to do is place the sync module in the middle so you have a strong signal for all the camera. And you are able to check the signal strength anyway in the camera option menu. One suggestion use a power bank on the sync module until you find the best signal for all the cameras than just plug it in, cant wait until I get my hands on the Blink Xt :)

It should be fine under the porch as long as water doesn't get in there , the camera operates 32(0℃) to 95(35℃) " from Blink website: any exposure to moisture and/or temperatures outside the operating range will void our one-year limited warranty." Yes you are able to control the camera from anywhere in the world and I have personally tried this as well when I was in Europe. Just to add my experience: I've had a camera protected from direct rain, outdoors for over a year now I think. I've had temperatures as low as -20ºC and it still worked, and the battery lasted forever... Considering it was located under the overhanging roof, I bet the temperature was a bit better, but still.
