yeah I'm sometimes in Miami, sometimes in Europe. Now I'm in Moscow and will stay in Europe till December, lots of tournaments this year (Olympiads in Dresden, World Championship normal chess and Chess960 in Mainz and World Mind Games in China and other tournaments. My training is usually in Moscow, there are more GM's in Moscow than in the whole world combined I think.

Karpov used to play the Ruy Lopez with black (i.e. 1...e5), then he switched to the Caro-Kann (1...c6) against 1.e4

Nice win but the Qf2-Qg3 plan seems very suspiciuos. Black has got a very comfortable game after that.

Interesting how GM Balashov chose the Sicilian Defense. I don't believe GM Karpov used it very much did he?
