It is the depiction of Blizzard turning away from their original audience which was PC to embrace a new market in asia / mainly China which demand casual games on the go or to say, mobile games. This sentence "Do you guys not have phones?" is a major turning point in Blizzards philosophy and target audience. Going for what Is *popular* instead of what is relevant to their main audience. The sentence shows that Blizzard has given up on entertaining their major audience in favor of a new well of fortune. It IS a great idea for a company to do so if it strives to reach more people - become *more popular* - but the price that it pays is disappointing the people that once put them on a golden chair. People were not expecting a Diablo Mobile game since a Diablo 4 was desperately anticipated. The question "Do you guys not have phones?" can therefore be taken as "Do you think we care about what *you* want?"

A lot of the game isn't just getting the gear loot but changing the look and dye of said gear to fit the theme of your character. With the ever upgrading to better gear I have a feeling it will lead to just $4.99 to change your armor to red per piece. Just $4.99 to change that funky looking helmet to a wizard hat. Just $4.99 to... Ain't jumping in that shark pool I'll tell you what.

in europe we have something called "customer protection" sadly most people forget about this. they make laws like "YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO GIVE A REFUND WITHIN A CERTAIN TIME". even steam had to adapt their no refund police to that law and so does everyone else who wants to sell his stuff in europe. there is also a law that protects you while pre-ordering stuff, if the product is not what they promised you have the right to get your money back, no discussing. with companies like blizzard try to be above that law, you just need to report it to costumer protection, if enough people will report it they will even sue blizzard to make sure they keep the law in future. sadly most people forget about the reporting and just take it as "damn i cant do anything".

I've said this to other channels. Blizzard (the old team) has been dead since about 2006. Activision has been in control for many years, the difference is that Metzen and Morrihane vetoed what Activision was going to do. Since Blizzard was looking better at the quarterly meetings as Blizzard made more profit than Call of Duty, the stock investors allowed Blizzard to continue running their company like a well-oiled machine. When Morrihane stepped down, as did Metzen that showed that Blizzard was at the end of their rope and allowed Activision to control the company. If you're wondering how I know this, I used to work for Blizzard before TBC came out. Many of us developers left Blizzard and went to go work for other organizations after we saw what Activision was planning to do. I saw the writing on the wall in the summer of 2004 during our alpha testing period. Blizzard has always been good at storytelling, and animation with their cinematics. As you can see with WIII Reforged, and even Patch 8.3 both WoW, and WIII are a dumpster fire right now. And this is because Activision is trying very hard to control everything that Blizzard does. What's bad is Activision is turning Blizzard into another EA. And people wonder why WoW subs are down.

Vivendi begged to release Blizzard games on their publishing platform, the deal that upper management signed was so little for Vivendi, it was just to get attention. The issue with Blizzard and this has been a problem even before I got there. They cater themselves to the lowest system, and while that is ok, you will never see a real polished game come out from Blizzard. We were using a bug tracking software and even in 2004 there were over 200,000 bugs that were reported by beta testers and those errors and bugs are still in BFA. I can't imagine how many millions of bugs are in the game now. I would not like to be that QA/QC person. Sad, I liked working there, but the quality of the product was always questionable. This was also made aware by many new devs we hired from SOE - aka Everquest. Many of them saw the list of bugs and high tailed out.

I got my refund, I live in AUS and paid with PayPal, not sure if this has anything to do with it. I threatened to contact PayPal if they didn't refund and I'd imagine PayPal is aware of this shitstorm because of all the refund requests, so they are allowing the refunds through PayPal.

Blizzard was used to getting a free pas from generous fanatics. But failed to realize all that goodwill was used up by the scandals of the previous years. Like the real money auction house. Behtesda was reliant on modders to fix this games for them. But failed to realize just how much they needed those modders when they implemented an always online game that couldn't be easily modded. That's why both companies threw away their reputation. They didn't realize the peril.

Blizzard has had a chain of terrible decisions and direction for a very long time. This is why those who would defend Blizzard for every screw up (no matter how big) would piss me off so much. Because here we are now. I was done with them after they began making every game 'always-online' (starting with Diablo 3 afaik). They need to be knocked down a peg or two, but sadly they won't be. This will all blow over in a few weeks and all will be forgiven by the Blizz faithful. They and the other AAA pubs will have learnt nothing and nothing will change. And that is why the statement 'too big to fail' exists. There is no point in Steam getting rid of 'Early Access' as now, every game is Early Access. Proving right the belief that we live in a world where what should be the exception is the norm and what should be/was the norm is now the exception. I.E. rushing a broken, lied about piece of shit onto the masses, then, while waiting for the hate tide to pass, finish the game if sales are good enough.. if not just stop fixing it, move on and upon the promotion of the next game make a faux down to Earth joke about how you haven't lived up to expectations and are 'going back to your roots' with this new title. Why change it? The formula sure as shit seems to be working for these massive developers and publishers. A Metacritic score doesn't matter, sales do. Modern game development and marketing 101

Y'know, I actually bought WC3 twice because of how much I loved Blizzard back in the day. At first, I bought the original WC3 when I was in grade school. Then the PC me and my stepdad played it on died, and we sold off the discs. Then I came across my cousin years later, who was playing a pirated version of WC3 DOTA with his pals. I decided to download his bootleg copy for myself so I could play it, but then I saw the WC3 discs again being resold at the Target/Best Buy close to my apartment building. I bought it again because I respected Blizzard and their work-they made the game, they deserve my money. So I bought them and I installed the proper version of the game into my computer. But now that they're bricking the regular version of WC3 classic, I think I'll hang on to my cousin's pirated copy of it, in one of my hard drives in my closet. Considering Blizzard's unethical behavior these past few months, pirating their games seems like an act of retribution for their unethical behavior towards the Warcraft fanbase and Blitzchung.

Here in Australia, we have a law that protects the consumers, if a consumer asks for a refund in a certain time frame, by law they have to refund you. If you are Australian or in a country that has that law, you can actually take them to court and you will most likely win your case. I haven't bought this game myself, but if you are effected by this, I would try and contact the consumer protection, they will most likely take it up with the court... if the case is strong, which it is, you will most likely win.

They can't split, they have to find other investors that are willing to pay a tremendous amount of money to buy them out. I'm sure activision has plans for the company, so I'm sure they wouldn't accept an offer unless it was too good to pass on. Those buyers wouldn't do it because they were concerned about the state of their games looking forward. They would want their money back, so there is no reason to think it would matter.

Here in Australia, it's illegal to deny refunds after misrepresenting a product(which going to the buy page and seeing the trailer does enough) and they've been denying refunds to us. They claim that because they are an American company they do not have to abide by our consumer laws. However, this has been proven untrue when Valve/Steam was sued by the ACCC and won for 3mil for going against our consumer laws. I've already seen Aussie reporting Blizzards deny for a refund to the ACCC. There was a pretty popular forum post on the Reddit about an Aussie who did get a refund after stating the laws in the feedback from customer support. Sadly, this is not the case for all Australians and I really hope the ACCC goes after them because Blizzard needs a reality check.
