Phase 3 has been amazing so far and it's only been out for a few days.. As someone playing on a pvp server the incursions are so god damn fun it's like a battleground outside in the world and I suspect that was the intention all along. people have quickly realized that no kill runs are the fastest xp and gold farm. So you have groups of 5 running around between areas constantly but most of them aren't loyal to each other. If I pick one out of the pack the rest just run away like wild gezells and you can form up raid teams to camp a specific location and farm people. Eventually those people build up and you have 2 raid teams trying to kill each other for the best xp/gold farm route and it's just a bloodbath. This doesn't sound fun to a lot of you and yes we missed out on the gold exploit but I think incursions are genius. Think of all the bots running around the incursion events that we can now just farm for honor. Agrend has almost fixed botting issue for pvp servers making the bots work for us and just because you missed out on some gold doesn't mean there isn't a greater effect at play. I'm hyped to see what the rest of phase 3 will bring because pvp feels more alive than ever.

Casual dad gamee here, and ive loved this phase. Played thursday night for three hours and got to lvl 46 and had a nice 250g. Then casually solo'd content friday and Saturday to grind out my last few levels. This community is just the worst thing about SoD.

I've had a blast and the pressure to level for raid is now gone due to the incursions. Now I can go after runes, pvp, farm BIS. I agree they were way overpowered but this is a temporary game mode and I think people who are mad dont want to admit that that's all SOD really is. They are holding out hope that this will be our classic plus and I'm just not seeing it. Would be cool if we get that down the line but I doubt it.

About to potentially quit the game, and I never played classic initially, just enjoyed watching my friend doing so. Phase 1 was really nice, with lot of people in zone, felt like a MMORPG. P2 was eh but ok. But sorry for haters but P3 is apex bullshit. I do have a life and a job, I litterally logged sunday noon (so for EU 2 days after release) and people are already level 50, with shitload of gold, asking for « LFM raid pre-bis / bring xp + pots / check logs + paypal 10 euros for application fee » Xp zone are totally desert of players. As a casual/limited time player, i feel like devs betrayed me. All nerds who exploited incursions early on got waaay ahead of us, and the phase even didn't start yet. I already feel left behind and dont know if I should even try to chase them. And players' elitism is making all of it even worse. I barely made it to Gnomergan once, though it was not hard at all, but gatekeepers did their job well. I feel like it will be impossible for me to get in pugs for ST. And a lot of busy/casual players can't raid with guild cause of moving schedules. I guess i will quit. I liked start of it a lot thought.

I’m having a tough time getting into phase 3. I haven’t even had the energy to level to 41 yet and I’m not sure exactly why. I think it might be a me problem cause I’m trying to get so much stuff done in real life that I’ve been putting off. I have the time to level (with the xp buff and incursions) but the drive just isn’t there to go and do it. I’m not a doomer at all, I had a LOT of fun during phase 1 and 2 but for some reason I feel so burnt out now. Anyone else experiencing this?

This is by far the worst phase to date. How on earth did they think that running in circles is a fun way to level. The whole point of sod is to get out and discover. Instead I run in circles for 3 hours and I’m 50. The devs are completely out of touch. So many amazing things you could have done. Let alone not even being bothered to add a world pvp event. I hate how you’ve taken such a good idea and just fucked it.

OK this would be wild but hear me out. Hunter rune that changes eye of the beast. Not only do you control your pet but your pet gains several new abilities that let you tank. Meanwhile the hunter acts like a pet, autoattacking the boss, using a few abilities on CD etc SoD has a lot of tanks but this would be pretty cool

Just came back I don't have a lot of time to play, they nerf the exp and gold for players with less time. Back too unsubbing after hitting level 30. The game is made for the 1% that play at launch then the game is just hotfixed to remove the other players from wanting to play. That's how I feel. I can play another game. It seems like such an easy fix. Maybe put lacerate on the leg runes slot and that would fix so much of bears kit. Now the gore rune work properly. The tooltip even describes using lacerate to proc gore for mangle resets… too bad you can’t use lacerate and mangle at the same time. Come on blizzard. Fix it

Nightmare Incursions were a fireable level blunder imo. This was cstastrophic and completely crippled the phase. And it was an easy fix, just make each quest weekly only. Encourage players to do each one rather than skip inefficient ones. And still leave space for other leveling methods. Edit: I do say crippled, not destroyed. The phase can still work. Gotta experience the rest of it.

I thought before it launched that the incursions would be an instance and the quests would be Daily, or 3 day lock outs. It blew my mind they were infinitely repeated and that is awful. I don't think the gold bonus should have applied above level 40, exp yes, gold no. I feel like they set the gold amount with the quest to what you were supposed to receive with the 300% buff. I missed the big money window by less than an hour because Life, I'm not too irked about it, but it's a massive L that it happened.

I cared around about incursions, but since I leveled fast I am realizing there is a ton to do. Being a UPS driver wasn’t great, but I do thing a daily lockout of a single run isn’t worth going all the way there. Perhaps 5 repeat or something that would be worth my time. Also we have to remember this is how we get wardens rep so we can’t just cap it.

@@aaronneal7099 running dungeon spam (or now event spam) to level isn’t skill. I had no problem parsing bfd with purps and oranges. Ive raided mythic retail for the past 4 expansion. It’s not skill that is the issue. Sod is easy. It’s the community that ruins the fun with perspectives like yours and blizz enabled that with their addition of an event that trivialized leveling and gold making. Then realized that was the case and immediately went to change it. They are sweats because they rush to the end of a phase to partake in the only portion of content they want to and then cry about raid logging until the next raid. They are sweats because you think skill in “a 19 year old game” is actually a factor in the real issue here. Blizz shouldn’t cater to the sweats and they don’t have to cater to the absolute bottom of the barrel either. They should make a fun experience and people who want to only do endgame content over and over should go play retail. The only difference at this point is “old” content gets released faster so the sweats don’t fully quit from boredom that they created for themselves. If I was still trying to seek a challenge I would definitely not be playing wow for it. I’d have no problem leveling and enjoying it if I knew the community wasn’t as toxic as it is. I stopped in phase 2 because of how toxic guilds were to other players but act normal to someone who can easily parse like myself. It’s pathetic and only reflects how unaware wow sweats are.

Phases 2 and 3 should be a reminder that SOD is nothing but a beta test for a potential future Classic+. I quit mid P2 when I ended up raid logging Gnomer. One can just hope they iron out and delete all the things that suck and end up with a product that is half decent. Right now, they have a lot of work to do. I think the devs are failing to realize the majority of Classic players are casual dad gamers and not sweaty streamer andies who want to min/max everything. It's easy to lose track because the latter group is far more vocal.

Hunters have a terrible deadzone and can't lay traps in combat, shamans can't recall their totems and warlocks' tank pet can't actually tank even with extreme micromanagement. TBC remedied many classes' crippling defects and WOTLK allowed every class and spec to have a "Super Saiyan" moment. Early access to ground mounts actually incentivises players to ride around everywhere, as opposed to using teleports and flight masters And between vanilla's "Decrepit old man swinging a rotten, snapped twig" and Cataclysm's "I can't die even if I want to", both TBC and WOTLK strike the perfect balance between danger and skill expression when it comes to solo PvE I levelled all classes to 70 through solo questing and combining WOTLK's power level and accessibility with vanilla's zones & quest design and the Classic client's Quality of Life improvements is some of the best gaming I've ever partaken in. But Blizzard are actually taking that unique flavour away, forever.

You are absolutely right about nightmare incursions, I am glad that those words were spoken by you in a video. One more thing besides exp rewards are items. What I liked about SoD was that I had legs from dungeon 1, weapon from dungeon 2, wrists from a quest, chest from blacksmithing. Incursion leveling being fast was fine but getting gold was not so good. I think its current values are perfect. I have 3 toons at 50 now with 1 more to go. I like this being alt friendly. I think your take of lockouts is terrible.

Incursions not having a lockout was the fatal flaw, I believe. I ran the incursions a few hours because it was by far the most efficient way to level and I'd want the rep anyway, but really had to do a reality check then - why am I doing this? It was boring as hell because all you'd do was running around talking to a few dudes. Overall it seems to me that this phase was somewhat rushed. I appreciate the "no PTR" approach, but it looks like there was also very few (if any) internal testing being done.

I think the nightmare incursions there was nothing wrong. I preferred that shit way more than sitting there mind numbingly spamming a dungeon over and over and over again, oh and btw there is a glitch to go past the 5 dungeon lockout and they still haven't fixed it. so really your two choices are run the same dungeon over and over and over and over again or do the nightmare incursions which were actually fun

And also each lvl bracket should only allow up to a certain rep limit etc lvl 25 can only get to friendly, 40 to honored, and 50 to revered if they continue these to 60 to exalted. Plus if we do get heroic dungeons “with once a day lock out” at 60 we’ll have plenty to do

My guild has had ~10-12 steady players throughout phase 1 and 2. After the launch of phase 3, only 1 person intends to play during this phase. This is anecdotally of course, but if this is a general pattern, expect Blizzard to start having a major panic attack within the next week.

Guilds disbanding, people quitting, thousands of reddit/twitter/youtube posts all complaining. 95% of people osmosis'd their opinions from others without actually trying the content themselves. It's actually really embarrassing to see the classic wow community literally shoot themselves in the foot because they don't get an exact carbon copy of their wow dream version they cooked up in their heads for 20 years. But the truth is, if we had to quest/dungeon from 40-50 the old way, the very same people complaining about incursions will complain about having to level the old way. There is literally no winning with this community. If your like me, you've probably leveled 25-30 characters to 1-70 over the years through Vanilla/BC/WOTLK. And by now the thought of running ZF 12-14 times for levels is starting to wear on me. On my main I leveled to 42 through pre-quests and gnomer, then I did Uldaman till 43, THEN i hit up incursions till 47 then did the rest of my leveling in ZF/Mara. After doing that, and realizing I needed rep from Incursions, I just started my level 40 hunter in Ashenvale for maximum rep, got to 45 in 2ish hours and made 100g. Honestly... that beats the HELL out of doing ZF 14 times with random pugs who will quit out of the party if you pull more than 3 mobs. Or getting into parties with 3 pallys and none of them cleanse polymorph. Then you have all the raider Andy's who are quitting before even trying ST because a bunch of speed runners attempted ST in gnomer gear and thought they could 1 shot it. Its literally 4 days into the phase and people are already quitting over ST being too hard because of an absorbed opinion from the masses who watched a speedrunner guild attempt the raid after 2 days of leveling. You (the wow community) are all so damn embarrassing.

I would definitively agree with the last part, they said before release they had added some very powerful consumes inside the raid and a great pvp set you get next reset, which you would want to bring to the raid, once they get gear and those world buff consumes it wont be such a massive problem i believe. they already nerfed the raid 50% aswell. I think I'll be checking out the incursions once I hit 50. I disabled the Delight Bonus so I can focus more on the outdoor quests :) Farming incursions might be how some people want to level, but I think a good chunk of players want to experience the full game.

It's a seasonal game there should be no grind to level. The easier it is to level the more content people can do. Think of everything there is to do in the 2 months we are given. Leveling should not take up most of that time. Especially since most people have multiple characters. Professions alone are going to occupy most of my time.

Hard Classic raids are not what most want in classic. Classic is meant to be easier so you can chill with friends and have a good time. Bro, nobody is sitting on thousand and thousands of gold. people had about 2 hours to benefit from this and that is taking into account that they had to learn how the event works from scratch (which means they actually have to read every quest in order to figure out what to do which will severely slow them). so say every quest takes an average of 10 minutes and every q give you like 6g, that is a total of 72g over 2 hours even if we are generous and say the quest take 5 minutes a pop and provide 10g, its no more than 240g total. Nowhere near the amounts you are talking about. people are trolling you bro. don't believe everything you hear out of the mouth of a wow player.
