Premise 1: there is a conscious mind because all experiences are mediated through the mind; there is no empirical reality observed independently of the mind. Therefore, anything beyond direct experience is doubtable. Premise 2: "O's" are the object of the conscious mind because there are some objective elements of the mind's experience and thoughts that the mind is engaging with. Premise 3: but "O's" are a mere abstraction because, when stripped of subjective elements like space, time, causality, and color, they remain only as abstracted ideas. Premise 4: ∴ If "O's" are abstractions and not minds, then they cannot will anything or impose themselves on the conscious mind Premise 5: Also, the mind has some control over its experiences (e.g., opening eyes to see), but not all experiences are desired, and the mind often encounters unwanted experiences (such as pain). Premise 6: ∴ If "O's" cannot impose themselves onto the mind, and the mind does not will all of its experiences, then some external force must account for these experiences. Conclusion: ∴, there must be an agent or force, "G," that creates or imposes experiences on the mind. "G" is a necessary variable arising from the argument, rather than an assumed variable....

@purekhizi2 ай бұрын
They are far more marginal than you might think - their seeming prominence in the Islamic tradition is more to do with modern Muslims finding them congenial because of their own modernism, rather than their actual historical dominance.
@mohammedhanif678013 күн бұрын
that is only one half of the Islmaic tradition as exemplified by the Mutakallimun, especially the Asharis, and the Taymiyyan traditionalists. The other half are the falsafa tradition still holding out in Iran with the Sadrians and then you have the Speculative Sufi tradition exemplified by Ibn Arabi and his followers. And you have the Maturidi speculative theologians who are bridge between the two. Each group claims to be orthodoxy.

If you read the Bible Jesus pbuh said in John 17:3 - "The only true God" ☝️ "Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." 🔎 Explanation: Jesus refers to God as the "only true God," emphasizing that Jesus was sent by Him, not equal to Him. ➡️ Islamic Perspective: Jesus is a prophet who always directed people to the worship of one God. In Surah 43:64, Jesus is quoted as saying: "Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is the straight path."❤☝️

Great interview, as usual, but I was hoping Dr. Spiker would change my mind about the lack of any real importance of Kalam. Alas, his arguments for Kalam were not nearly as strong as his other work and I still find it hard to justify the study of Kalam.
@purekhizi2 ай бұрын
where was kalam discussed in the video? I didn't notice
@majesticsoysauce86482 ай бұрын
Kalam is absolutely necessary for Muslims living in the west and even in their homelands today because of the pervasiveness of western philosophy everywhere. Kalam is just the understanding of our aqidah and the proofs of our aqida in a deep way, you can watch Paul’s discussion with shaykh shams tamees on this issue

It doesnt seem to me that Platonism is an adequate soltuom to anything not that you cant take anything from Platonism but thus view of lime idealizing plato and going back to platonism theres a reason Platonism in the West led to this point

You obviously haven't watched the video. As he repeatedly says, he's not talking about Plato the historical individual

According to the issues in the muslims world, but some how the argument are not on the point. Its all about addressed the issues of a lifestyle between the different timeline. It has the same context just the different is choosing the best way as possible. We are human beings is life in a simple way by default until the complexity of forward consciusness create the curse of civilization started in Iraq then helenistic way of life taking over until now.

I can't watch this, the title itself goes against the Islamic Article of faith. Islam is our only guidance we need. ~And thus We have sent to you [0' Muhammad]Rooh[a Revelation, and a Mercy] of Our Command. You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith? But We have made it [this Qur'an] a light wherewith We guide who so ever Of Our slaves We will..) (surah 42: 52)
@aminaa182Ай бұрын
The idea of monotheism is contradicting to what you are saying. Plato believed in the idea of Being. But in Islam, consciousness and being are opposite. If Being was consciousness then it would never have distinguished itself from itself. This distinction would be impossible, because the original unity is the unity from which it is impossible to emerge. And if one can emerge from this unity, if one can leave it and look back at yourself, at what from which one emerged, then it is not unity, this is an illusion of unity. For the muslim there is an absolute opposition between consciousness and being
