"Police said the murders are connected with the same signature breast mutilation"..... after the case was solved...."update, police said the two case are NOT related and we're still looking for suspects".. the moral of the story is these police department are working for money, unethical and lies about everything. Looking for suspect means money in their pockets. The detective who worked at rape cases and had his trace of blood found was contamination as presented on video where in 84 they were careless about preserving pure samples. The detective never said "the girl I photographed died" on the phone, why would a SMART detective even say that on the phone in 2012 knowing phones are tampered? that was another lie by the for profit 666 police department. Here's the likely truth, the case was solved when the convicted rapist died in 2011, his dna is the evidence. More likely for both murders, again the police likely tampered with the time frame of the time he was in jail during the event of the 1st case. He was a CAREER RAPIST and they released him from jail so he can do it again. But the police department cannot make money off dead suspects so they targeted the detective who committed suicide, RIP. Unfortunately even if you reveal the names of these demonic San Diego police, there's millions who received the mark that will replace them.

Oh my goodness yes…his recounting of waking up cold, wet, alone, covered in blood? I feel fit this man. Teenagers do stuff like this every night all over the would, and later in life can look back and laugh about those exploits. I do that! I feel so sorry for this man and the victim’s family. 15 years old, she’d barely begun to live. I pray she didn’t suffer too long, that she passed out wasn’t fully present for the pain.

I thought the exact same thing! I have 3 kids and my older two are respectful and mind me really well. My youngest is smart. She’s so smart like my husband but she also isn’t as well behaved. She’s a lot to handle at times. I used to look at other parents with their ill behaved children and think how good my kids were and that I’d done a great job. Lol. Then, I had her. Ha! I love her of course but she’s definitely changed the entire dynamic of our household. She’s also made me choke on my pride a little. So, when I heard the mom say that, I thought the same as you and then I thought to myself how that’s exactly what my youngest daughter does for me. I know it’s different than what this mom was probably saying but nonetheless…

@@bushmonster1702 Absolutely, and I am glad she got the judgement against them. Hopefully, they learned to be more thorough with subsequent cases. The compelling thing for me was that Bible verse he left marked to indicate how hopeless he felt that he could ever convince his wrongful accusers that he was innocent. I hope he felt comforted that God understood when certain humans did not.

I'm a 55 year old woman. I remember disobeying my parents and doing things I shouldn't have done when I was a teenager. All of us thought our parents were being over-dramatic and overly protective. But our parents were just trying to protect us because they loved us so much. When you are a teenager (and into adulthood too), you just don't think that anything bad will happen to you. And odds are that nothing will happen. But there is always a chance. There are evil people in this world, just looking for an open opportunity. Everyone reading this - please think about what you are doing, stay aware of your surroundings, do things in groups, not alone, and always tell a trusted person of your plans. Better to be cautious and safe, than sorry later. And I hope that one day Barbara's case will be solved and justice served.

Including hitch hiking as a teenager where the man driving who was about 60 told me he had champagne in the boot. It sounds like the police took the easy way out and blamed the dead guys for the one they could pin on them. Fact is, a lot of crimes go unsolved. As a molecular biologist who had designed clinical trial assays using DNA, I have seen sample cross contaminations all the time if people don't follow the strictest lab practice. The police cannot just dismiss the possibility of sample contaminations in the criminal lab. There is a well known story among molecular biologists that in Germany the police was puzzled the suscepts in several unrelated cases was the same woman until they figured out that lady who did not wear gloves when assembling the sample collection kits

I went camping with a friend who wanted to sleep on the beach in her sleeping bag instead of with our friends at our nearby camp. I didn't want to but decided to do it with her so she wouldn't be out there alone. Before I feel asleep i heard voices and three men were approaching us. I greeted them in a loud voice before they could come to close, my heart pounding, and they asked about some party they were looking for and went on their way. My friend slept through the whole thing. It was all fine but I was not ok with that kind of vulnerability and danger. Could have been very bad

This is normal Childhood Growth and Development and at best, we can offer our POV, our guidance (please keep it low keyed, parents) but ultimately it’s their decisions. The innocent explanations about the suspect who worked in the crime lab are perfectly reasonable to me. The fact that the police never charged him during his life tells me they were afraid to take it to court against a defense. There is, at the very least, a lot of room for reasonable doubt in that case. I'm not saying I KNOW he's innocent, but the point is for the jury to know the defendant is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. I haven't seen all the evidence, and obviously, there was no trial, but I would vote to acquit him based on what I have seen here.

These two poor victims look incredibly alike. Their noses and face shape and coloring and smiles look like close relatives: sisters or cousins. Even hairstyles are shaped similarily. He got caught because there were Google searches of where to shoot yourself and not die. And he drove 10 miles while bleeding to get help for his girl.

She didn't say he showed her photos of the girl who was murdered. She said he showed her examples of the kind of photos he took. He obviously showed her the most innocent-looking ones, and ones of people who weren't under age. But it's likely that he didn't do it because the forensic evidence is contaminated and there was ALSO forensic evidence of a convicted rapist, which surely should make us consider the probability that THAT man committed the crime, not a guy who worked in the lab

I have been there many times, used to live in Cardiff By The Sea, which is really close to south of Del Mar where this beach is. It is gorgeous! The hiking thru Torrey Pines State Reserve is amazing. Breathtaking views of the beach from up on the cliffs.

I’m spooked! I spent a lot of time on Torrey Pines beach in the 1990’s-2000’s. It’s a great walking beach. I spent 3 late night hours with a friend on one occasion. I didn’t know about those murders - I wish I had. I’d walk the whole length of the beach often at sunset - Alone! Holy crap!!

Terrible detectives work! In Clare’s case there was clearly contamination of the sample and an innocent person took his life! Evidently both cases are related and unsolved. As for the suspects blood found on Clare who drowned, I would say that was their killer. There was no other murders after he drowned and both murders had a signature, the cutting of their breast. May both victims rest in peace ❤

The suspect who drowned was in prison for the SA of someone else when Barbara (the girl from 1978) was killed. And I don't believe Kevin Brown was guilty. If he went to trial with that weak evidence- considering the potentially contaminated evidence, I believe he would've been cleared. Such a shame for both girls, their families, and the wrongly accused. At least his wife successfully sued the police dept.

Yeah that blew my mind. A convicted rapist’s blood was found and then offed himself THE DAY of the anniversary of it!! Serious misconduct, but the LA and San Diego police forces have always been a complete mess, some of the stuff they got away with in the 70’s and 80’s is a guide on what NOT to do in an investigation, the USA Police need a serious and complete reform, they hurt more people than they help, and terrorize the citizens that they “swear” to protect.

I’m very upset the police dropped the ball with these two investigations. They had tunnel vision with the DNA found on the second victim and failed to investigate for more suspects. If I were a juror, I couldn’t say the accused is guilty based off the DNA swab after hearing the DNA swab could have been contaminated by the accused during working in the same lab it was processed. This case needs more investigation and justice.

Yeah it made me pretty sick to see their total lack of empathy for someone their daughter loved, and who lost the love of his life and nearly his own. Their daughter is gone but causing more harm to a victim is indefensible. They are her PARENTS, THEY are responsible for her safety, and instead of showing compassion they blame a 15 year old kid that they put the responsibility of watching their daughter onto who was knocked unconscious and imo acted so heroically to be on deaths door and his first concern is for his girl. This is a wonderful reminder to teach your daughters to KEEP. THEMSELVES. SAFE. No man or boy is worth their safety, and they could have easily been safe and had as much fun at home "sleeping" in a bed. If they weren't mischevious and had listened to her parents none of that would have happened. People give too much lenience to the "wild side" of being a teenager because they may have been one themselves (and 14 is BARELY a teenager), but parents still know what they are talking about even if it feels they are being strict sometimes. Listening to your parents has kept a lot of us safe and MOST of us could attest to that. Your child is not here to keep you humble, you are here to humble your children! They should have been harsher on her. Should would still be alive.
