You should really check out their song "Jee Veeray", it's an older one but with a message that is desperately needed in these times. It is musically and thematically somewhat linked to this one. Jee Veeray is about fighting depression and coming out the other end. It's the one song of theirs that still gets me everytime i listen to it. These guys are such a force of positivity, we do need more of this in our world

@@angelabordack : I have chronic depression. Many days, I just don't want to get up, because I wonder, "What the hell is the point?" And then Bloodywood reminds me: Get back into the fight. Get back on the battlefield. And when you do, come out swinging, and give it all you got, because we only get one life. One time. One chance, to live our life as best we can. And then, when you're ready, put the "pain in the shredder" and _fly._

Well said Tauri, you can't judge someone purely on outward appearance. My girlfriend is a few years older than me which is frowned upon in society but we love each other and that's all that should matter. People are naturally judgemental but we have to condition ourselves not to be, to remind ourselves that people live lives beyond the reach of our eyes that mould their character and personality.

There are 15 years between my wife and I. We have been married for 26 years this month. When 2 people find their match who gives a f*** what anyone else thinks. I agree with what this song has to say wholeheartedly! YOU control your life, not magical deities, your parents or society as a whole. If it makes you happy and does not adversely affect the happiness of others, then go get it!
@gabrielp9646
@gabrielp9646 2 жыл бұрын
It´s weird. You should hope to date/marry an equal (in terms of intelligence, emotional maturity, life experience, etc.) and is physically and mentally IMPOSSIBLE to be an equal with someone who is 15 years younger (or older) than you. There´s always going to be a weird dynamic in the relationship (and this is not only about the age... For example: If one partner is way smarter than the other, there´s going to be a weird power dynamic as well).
@wally837
@wally837 2 жыл бұрын
@@gabrielp9646 You are entitled to your opinion. If you are looking for someone who is your equal in every way then I doubt you will ever find someone. In a lot of ways, my wife and I's strengths and weakness' complement each other. Together we are better off than apart. For the record I do think both members of a relationship should be at least 21 years old. The lower age between my wife and I when we met was 25.
@gabrielp9646
@gabrielp9646 2 жыл бұрын
@@wally837 That´s my whole point... You can´t complement each other´s weaknesses, because you´re not equal. Again: If one partner is way smarter than the other, someone could say "his/her intelligence complements his/her weakness..." When in reality, what is happening is a weird power dynamic, when one partner is always in a position of authority (forced to take care of the other, but also being "superior" in some ways) And the thing about life experience is undeniable. Some people mature at a different rate than others, but you can´t deny that you´re not the same person when you are 20, or when you´re 30. No matter how incredibly mature a 30 year old person is, he/she will NEVER be an equal to a 40 year old (because that other person has 10 years of "advantage", in terms of life experience). I do get what you´re saying. Sometimes you find an extremely "compatible" person, who is completely out of your age range (until not long ago, I was dating a woman who was 9 years older than me). But despite all the compatibilities, it will always feel like someone with A LOT MORE EXPERIENCE is taking advantage of a more innocent/naive person. That said, there are much bigger problems in life that being in a slightly unbalanced relationship... In fact, most relationships are kind of fkd up, in one way or another. Just saying: Maybe you should give a fck, and at least try to figure out why you do you even feel attracted to someone who is so far behind you. Because I could never even think of having a relationship with someone who knows less than me about the world, or about themselves. Someone who still has so many experiences to live (that Ive already been through), so many things to understand and figure out, and that has such a clear disadvantage over me.

Some other good ones with good messages, Jee Veerey, Yaad, and Endurant - stick around for the message from the band after all of those, you get a good feel for the bands commitment to their messages. (You probably want some tissues handy for Yaad, a lot of people get really emotional over that one - I sure do)

@Tauri: Just saying, some of us fight our demons every day. There have been times where my demons have almost beaten me. I say, _almost._ Because I'm still here. Still fighting. Still waging the good fight against my demons. Every day I wake up, is another battle won. And Raoul, the rapper, is right: There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Yeah, I might die in the dark, and the pain is part of the struggle. But I will risk it all, just to have that chance to fly. To win. And I _will be_ better than I was back then. Edit: Tauri, I know what you're saying about the age gap. Just saying, people who say something are _boring._ They've got nothing going on in their lives. Plus, those people think that they can tell others how to live their lives. Screw that. Live your life the way you want, as long as you ain't hurtin' anybody. I say this because the closest age I've ever been to anyone I've been with was 2 years older than me. Most of the time, I've been with women who are 5 years or younger than me. My mom's ex-husband is 10 years older than her. Age is just a number, so why should anybody care? Let the haters drink their Hatorade and be miserable. They ain't livin' your life, you ain't livin' theirs.
