Just bc this is the third time I have seen this I am compelled here. Two Combat Celebrants is not infinite combats. Kiki Jiki or Helm making a new one each combat will do it but just cloning it once will not bc of the first sentence.

35:37 Bird Bard gets +X+0 for each creature with a base power 1. Emphasis on BASE. So buffing his 1/1’s does not lower his commander's power

You are not using the gift an extra turn card correctly. Lol you want to use it when there's three players left, you gift someone like the grul player an extra turn essentially giving him two turns to deal damage to the other player's board before you enter the game again. Helping you deal with your problem

I really do like the new "Gift" mechanic. Struggling between wanting the group hug or enchantments precon. Two peeps in our pod got the squirrels. Great game as usual.

Ms. Bumbleflower puts a counter on "target creature. It gains flying until end of turn." So they aren't different creatures you give counters and flying to. I'm not loving the group hug deck; it seems to be all over the place (card draw and +1 counters, I guess), without real synergy. instead of a Baird, stewart of Argive, they could have put in a Nils, discipline enforcer. The more counters a creature has, the harder it is to attack you; and you can give counters with each spell you cast. Also, what's up with the Jolly Gerbils? "Whenever you gift something, draw a card," and there are a grand total of, what, four gift cards in the deck? It's like an archmage emeritus with 4 instants and sorceries in your deck; or a beast whisperer with 4 creatures. Such an odd choice. (And the main set gives you a whopping 4 or 5 more options within these colors.)

The commander, Ms. Bumbleflower, gifts cards when just playing any spell. Comboing with the commander is still probably worth running the Girbil🤷‍♂️

​@@oldmanstrolseeyt2121 "Gift a card" is a specific mechanic with specific rules text. So are "gift a fish", "gift an octopus", and "gift a turn". Ms. Bumbleflower forces target player to draw a card, but it does not "gift a card" and therefore does not trigger a card with the text "whenever you gift a card"

@@oldmanstrolseeyt2121 Sadly she doesn't "gift" cards. It would have been awesome if they'd worded her ability so that it did, but that would have made it tricky to "force" you to have an opponent draw a card rather than have it be an optional trigger, which would lean more toward politics rather than group hug. Only way to do this I can think of is giving her both "Spells you cast have 'Gift a card.'" and "Whenever you cast a spell, if a Gift is promised, put a +1/+1 counter... If this is the second time you have done so this turn, draw a card. Otherwise, return that spell to its owner's hand." Or possibly by defining "giving a gift" as broad enough to include Ms Bumbleflower's wording, but that would make Jolly Gerbils absolutely broken and work with everything from Kwain to Forced Fruition EDIT: Even that wording for Ms B wouldn't work as you could cast Ornithopter or any other free spell and return it to your hand for an arbitrary Storm count

I'm hoping we get more Gift cards as it seems like an excellent variation of kicker and could fit into any set much like Ward. Hopefully they get wilder with Ward costs and experiment with Gifts too. Like, I'd love a "Gift a card from their graveyard", "Gift 2 +1/+1 counters", or "Gift 1 mana of any color"
