I don't really understand why Ian thinks the blow forward doubles the recoil, the forward movement of the slide will pull the gun forward, but it should not have any effect on the force of the recoil as the movement of the slide is in reaction to the firing of the bullet in the slide so it doesn't have any opposite force to add recoil. If anything seeing as the slide only begins to move back after the shot is fired, the felt recoil should be less as the slide impacts the back of the gun with the energy stored in the spring separately from the gun firing. I think the sharp recoil is because of the tiny frame, light slide and the even smaller grip, It could be the case that the slide moving forward REMOVES less recoil, but it certainly shouldn't add more. Having said that I am down to be corrected as I study chemistry not physics.

I’ve shot so many of these non-black badge type events. I used to take my son and he lived with his mother so we didn’t have enough time to get him qualified, (I guess we did but honestly we had limited quality time so we did these events instead). Also these types of events are far safer and need less insurance and thus much cheaper to enter and usually pretty fast.

Why am I suddenly thinking "Backup Brutality"? Example stage: You start some distance from the targets and have a Kettlebell (weight chosen in line with the typical physique and fitness of the participants). You can only shoot with the toes of a foot (to stop, or at least penalise by forcing an awkward stance, standing forward of the KB to reduce range) in contact with the the Kettlebell and can only move it by throwing. You are NOT obliged to shoot on each throw and there is a 'closest distance line' beyond which you may not open fire. KB must be thrown back across closest distance line before firing again if it is crossed. Pistol starts empty for safety and must be shown clear before shooter moves position after loading, should they decide to do so. You have to balance the range at which you fire against physical stress and the time it takes to throw that KB - remember -1 point for each second you take. For extra fun add some 'No Shoots' so where you end up *laterally* is important in setting up the angle(s) to miss them. On a short length range movement laterally across the range (enforced by the closest distance line) could be the only movement allowed, with a mandated engagement order and target position forcing some level of repositioning during the stage.
@theultimatederp32884 жыл бұрын
Probably better off throwing the kettlebell at the target than using that gun though. Well okay the kettlebell is actually worse, but you know what I mean.
@otm6464 жыл бұрын
There should be three different kettlebell weights, something along the lines of 10x the weight of your back up pistol choice.
