Chris, after a lifetime of hating my unmanageable hair, I’ve been watching your channel and following your advice for a few months, and I now love my hair. I no longer rely on luck or “good hair days.” I can make my hair look great anytime I want. It looks clean, soft, and natural. It smells good too. And it doesn’t even take much time or effort. My hair used to get damaged so easily by heat styling, and I am amazed that my hair is not becoming damaged by what I’m doing now. Trying expensive hair care products has always been a gamble. I was tired of buying $30 products that don’t work. Such a waste of time and money. Everything you recommend actually works. And your techniques work too. Thank you for the honest and effective advice. I hope you are making boat loads of cash from KZbin, because you deserve it!

I agree! What are your tips for frequent heat exposure in hot yoga? I don’t want to wash after every class but my hair gets dry and frizzy. Should I use leave in conditioner? I try to time to my shampoo days and do an oil treatment prior. But I practice daily if not every other day.

@@GirlyShirleyxThat would be the salt in your sweat doing the drying. Personally, I would try giving the hair a good rinse with lukewarm water after class and then applying a leave-in mask or conditioner for your specific hair type and texture. I've never been to hot yoga but if you're worried about the air scorching your hair, you can always spray a bit of heat protectant before class, especially in the areas that come into contact with the hot air the most. That's all I can think of.

Why would you use leave in conditioner or other products? If you can't eat it, don't put it on your skin or hair. Wear a protective style during yoga and oil your hair. That's it.

For all the girls who are watching this, wondering if yall should spend all the money to buy the products he’s recommending and wondering if it’s real or not same as you wonder with every other video as I was 8 months ago. I just wanna say, I was the girl who couldn’t get their hair past their shoulders, had thin hair to where I couldn’t even style it. I’ve tried the rosemary oils, the scalp massages, inversion method, dermarolling, etc etc I’ve tried IT ALL. 8 months ago I started watching all of blowout professors videos, followed all the advice, bought the four main products, the olaplex, use it on my ends every day or every other day leave in conditioner, Moroccan mask and the redken shampoo, bought the satin pillow cases, bought the wet brush instead of the wide tooth comb as were all told to use. I even started brushing my hair wet, instead of brushing it dry as were all told to. He was right, It doesn’t pull out my hair as much as when it’s dry. 🤷🏼‍♀️I mean it when I say I’ve seen EVERY video and followed the advice to the exact T. And I have to say, THE MONEY WAS WORTH IT. Now my hair is thicker, fuller, past my shoulders for the first time in my life, I have never felt more confident about it and I know throughout the years following his advice I will finally get the dream hair I want. IT IS WORTH IT IN EVERY WAY. I wasted all the money so you don’t have to, trust me, blowout professor is legit!

No I've tried these things. What helped me grow my hair was not styling it and not bleaching and dying. I do think vitamins do help, though. Also a healthy scalp (I'm dry so this means the chebe oil for me and this does work for me!). When I quit everything, I instantly gained about 3 inches over the summer. Winter is always tough... but summer my hair always grows like crazy, so I try not to do anything in summer so I can get as much growth as possible. I find that olaplex is good when bleaching/dying, but probably not relying too heavily. Have realistic expectations.

Sorry for the long comment but this is a joke my 6th grade teacher told us.... It shows just how the results can also be misinterpreted. (I'll try to shorten it.) Scientist has a frog. Wants to do an experiment. Places the frog on a level surface and stands in front... "Jump frog! Jump!" Frog jumps! Scientist measures.... "Hmm... 4 feet? Okay... let's see where this goes...." So Scientist records: Frog with 4 feet, jumps 4 feet. Scientist cuts off 1 of the frogs feet. "Jump Frog, jump!" Frog jumps. Scientist: "Okay! Yes! I AM on to something!" *records 'Frog with 3 feet jumps 3 feet" *cuts off another foot "Jump Frog! Jump!" Frog jumps 2 feet. Scientist now giddy that he has discovered something... Records: Frog with 2 feet jumps 2 feet! *Scientist cuts off another foot *Frog jumps 1 foot *Scientist records that 'Frog with 1 foot jumps 1 foot NOW... Scientist cuts off the last foot. Places him down. Scientist says, "Jump Frog! Jump!" Frog doesn't Jump. Scientist yells increasingly louder, "JUMP FROG! JUMP!" Repeats this until he gives up. Finally, Scientist is sad because his experiment has failed... *records: Frog with no feet, cannot hear.

But yes. I get so frustrated at people who just take studies at face value. Or they don't even review the studies, they just take someone's word for it. Even when they do look at the studies, they don't look into HOW the studies were conducted. Blind? Double blind? Random? Under what setting? Real life? Or clinical? How did they verify the results? Are we talking 6/10? 13/ 25? Did they ignore the placebo effect? Who reviewed the study? What did they initially hypothesize? Exactly? Could the experiment have been manipulated or influenced at all? And what if the studies were never done at all? Are these just a bunch of papers that site eachother as sources? People are truly so gullible.

I would like to also note, having overall good health can affect your hair growth as well. I recently had a messed up sleep schedule, along with higher amounts of stress and not the best eating habits. I had started growing my hair out and it was about to reach shoulder length, but after my bad habits accumulated, my hair stopped growing and I had more hair falling out and it became a hassle to deal with. Shortly after readdressing my sleep, being consistent and eating a whole food diet high in nutrition that will give the proper nutrients for my hair inside out, I was able to then restabilize the health of my hair as well and increase hair growth.

@@dontworryaboutit4255 just saw this. I personally would not recommend peanut butter as a good source solely for the d3 and k2. Too much Omega 6 fatty acids over a long period of time, plus phytates in the peanuts can block the absorption of other key minerals for hair growth such as zinc and boron. Getting 10-30 min of sun exposure with no sunscreen to allow the proper formation of Vitamin D. Cheese and fermented foods such as Sauerkraut and Natto are better sources of K2.

@@theozgeneration I did not have to cut my hair to see an increase in growth again. Although split ends can be a cause for slow growth, in my case, it wasn't. I am still in a healing phase with my diet and my hair fluctuates. It is more in a slow phase again with more hair falling out, which could be a sign that my body is detoxing. It's a journey for sure. The overall health of my hair is good, just the slack of growth and extra oil production at times.

My daughter’s hair use to always brake mid-length, a friend still in the business introduced me to Olaplex. We started with the leave-in conditioner and it added lots of length to her hair. She uses the leave-in with every shampoo and #3 every 2 weeks. Her hair is now to her butt!! Also switching to a comb on wet hair and not a brush helps with the breaking. So many people rip their hair to shreds with a brush. Also #2 😂 comb your hair with conditioner on it in the shower. It’s so nice to see a salon that educates and not just thinking about $$. @@naturalglory6311 i section my hair in 4 with clips, detangle on dry hair, I’ll mist it if my hair is dry and maybe add a little leave in conditioner , I’ll go in the shower , wet my hair, slap on Olaplex 3 on the length of each section. I’ll shower. It usually clocks in at 10 minutes. And then shampoo only my roots and condition my hair only by section. I use the Aussie deep conditioner as a leave in (cause it’s cheap and it works !). I detangle each section with the tangle teezer only after I add a little leave-in. Because each section was detangled in the beginning I usually only see shed hairs in the shower. Now I also add aloe as a leave-in under the leave-in conditioner and I see less shedding/ breakage. Hopes this helps. My hair is boring, usually in a low/high ponytail or bun. I use the revair to dry because it’s less manipulation on the hair. I simply use my fingers to make parts to place hair in revair. I even dry according to the sections. It’s very methodical. 🔄 I only use satin ponytail holders from a company call silk and open hairpins for my buns. Hope this helps. I can bank on my hair to grow.

Today, I washed, deep conditioned, and blow dried. I ONLY used the products you recommend and I couldn’t believe how fast I could dry and detangle her hair (I use the revair to dry her hair because she’s so tender headed). Normally i detangle and it tangles right back up. For the first time in years, her hair retained the moisture and it didn’t tangle up right after brushing. I realize now it’s because of so much product build up that I wasn’t washing off. What usually takes me 4-5 hours, today took me two!! Thank you so much for your instructional videos!!! I've been following the black hair community and hair care routines and using heavy products for a long time. I lived in fear of using heat on my hair to prevent damage. My hair type is "fine" and although I've managed to grow my hair somewhat during this time, I didn't feel like I could confidently wear some of the straight-ish hair styles that I wanted to. Since following your advice I feel like I've attained my life-long hair goals! I've changed hair products to your recommendations and my hair has been thriving since the last few months! Thank you and BLESS you Chris!

Hey there ! I have very fine 4c hair but I regularly blow dry it (once a month/ every two months) it really helps with length retention by reducing tangles and knots you may want to try it because for us fine haired girlie's blow outs look like silk presses unless your hair density is extremely thick

I have had a big change in my hair when I started the wash trio. Shampoo, conditioner and leave in. I like my hair much more now. So thank youuu! Even though you say there is no shampoo that helps it grow...back in 2019 I really wanted to grow my hair out and found a shampoo/conditioner/mask (not a combo. 3 separate products) from Hair Jazz. I must say it did rely on scalp massage, but it has absolutely helped my hair to get MUCH longer in a short amount of time. An inch of hair growth in 3 weeks really proved this for me. My hair was STRONG smooth and silky. But all good things come to an end and it kinda stopped working that well. So I quit Hair Jazz and gotten something else (I don't remember which one, something with a bulldog in the logo) but it never made my hair as gorgeous as it was with the Hair Jazz. And then I found your channel.

For anyone new wondering why it's different to all the other videos out there, it's because these tips are so easy and PRACTICAL without the hundreds of hours / cash wasted on using a billion products and no time wasting "look at me, look at me" vibe like all the other influencer channels. My follow up question on this vid (if you haven't posted the answer already): what's the best way to apply leave-in conditioner? Especially for curly hair? Go all in with one of those Denman brushes, or just spray it on a bit? TIA!! xx

I'd love to incorporate this stuff into my hair routine because I'm trying to grow it out as long as possible. Another thing that doesn't cost any money that'll help reduce hair damage is not violently combing/brushing tangles out and breaking your hair off. To prevent tangles (at least for stick straight hair like mine), I brush it before showering (if there are lots of tangles, use one of those wet/dry brushes), only apply shampoo to the scalp, use a pick to help spread the conditioner from middle to ends, let sit while washing the rest of yourself, rinse everything out real good so there's minimal buildup, then pick it out again after drying with a white t shirt (DON'T rub it!! Just wrap it!). The t shirt by itself is so important...I immediately noticed a difference in how smooth my hair felt after using a t shirt instead of a towel. A salon lady told me to use a white shirt so no dyes get in my hair. This is extra and you don't have to do it, but I look for individual split ends and cut them off when I have extra time. It's impossible to get them all which is why trimming every two/three months is important, but I've seen some crazy split ends that needed to go. When you get it trimmed, only cut off maybe an inch MAX and don't go too often, otherwise you're cutting off all your growth. Still definitely trim it though because I didn't cut it AT ALL for 10 years and I had to remove 6 inches of damage despite how hard I tried to take care of it.

Absolutely love all your videos. BUT, really wish you would touch on the importance of trims rather than saying they don't need it (as you said in a different video). It really depends on the state of their hair. Go into detail about the fact that nothing mends a split end and it will just splitting up the strand and/or snap off leading to lost length. They can do everything you said in this amazing video, but if they don't get the already split ends off they are not going to see the BEST results and will think these suggestions didn't "work"? Just a suggestion. Keep being awesome!!! Love you Chris! 💖

Had a pixie from November 16' and grew it until March 21'. My final hair length/growth was 33". I never blow dried it or ever straightened it. I did a lot of things that I guess I shouldn't have, but my hair decided it wanted to grow fast. One thing that you learn is that your hair will easily be able to go longer without getting washed. There was no way for me to wash my hair every other day even if I had wanted to. As fun as it was to have coveted 'mermaid hair', I won't ever do that again. Love this advice but you can’t leave out regular trims!! No matter what you do, it is unavoidable that your hair will split and break at the ends at least a little so you should be getting a trim every 8-10 weeks just to get those splitting ends off before they break and move up the hair shaft. Even if you only dust the very ends, you should consider trimming regularly! ❤ I’ve been slowly but surely growing my hair out with regular trims for a year and a half and people always say that I have thick hair (even thought I don’t lol ) just because I’ve been trimming it regularly so all of my hair is able to grow allllll the way down to my ends together creating bluntness at the ends instead of wispy fragile ends. Hope this helps someone! I am a professional as well if anyone is curious lol ❤

I used a good clarifying shampoo that removes hard water minerals followed by a deep conditioning mask and the difference was amazing!! I had my hair back! I do that once or twice a month. I also use a styling cream and/or smoothing oil serum (Colleen Rothschild brand) just on the mid shafts to ends. Start with small amounts and see how it works. I've been taking hair vitamins and using hair growth oil for ages and nothing seems to have changed. xx

As a cosmetic chemist I also wanna add on.. a product being more concentrated does NOT necessarily make it better!! It’s all about the right balance of ingredients and their ability to work together. For example rosemary oil is great for the scalp and hair growth, but putting pure rosemary oil directly on your scalp could give you burns and even cause hair loss. Basically, don’t go reading labels assuming a product is good or bad just based on how much active ingredients are in it. With how labeling works in the US, you can’t even tell how much of something is in the product in the first place. Say a product has 5 ingredients and another has 50, but they have the same concentration of a certain ingredient. The bottle with 5 ingredients is going to appear like it has much more of that ingredient because it will be listed closer to the top.

I just show more basic care now, nice brushing several times a day to stimulate scalp and remove loose hairs and such and distribute oils. Basic coconut oil hair mask on hot wet hair once a week or so, obviously heat tools sparingly and intentionally. Don't need fancy crap

I started shampooing my hair twice and was surprised how much cleaner it felt and looked!! I was able to wash after 3 days, without being gross. Thanks

I agree with this!! Although I would recommend 0 in conjunction with 3, and also loreal has a miracle water rinse that you should use occasionally as well. And, if you have super dry ends, use a nice light leave in conditioning spray on those ends (not the entire hair if your hair gets weighed down easily) and don’t wash your entire head when you shamooo. Shampoo your roots, and just let the shampoo rinse over the rest of the hair. And condition the opposite, condition all the way up but DON’T condition your roots; your scalp will condition your roots. Coming from someone who’s hair wouldn’t grow more than halfway passed my chest because of breakage, who’s hair is now to my butt. (Also, I went brunette! Bleach=breakage)

This advices are just amazing! So simple but so efficient! I was skipping using leave in and hair oil for long time…. One month ago after watching this videos and understanding on how to retain and keep moisture in hair, my bleached and dyed ends look great! And my hair owerall looks really good! All that with simple drugstore products with good ingredients, oiling my hair regularly with coconut oil, gliss kur grapeseed oil leave in spray( which I was doubting in first), my hair is now really happy and shiny and my ends look like i have some different hair! Keeping the moisure is the key! ❤🤸 gratefull for your advices

Aaaandd- protective hairstyles😌 I have the normal shampoo and conditioner routine with the occasional egg and olive oil like once a month, and while that perhaps add vitamins and whatnot to my hair, hairstyles is one of the keys to keeping the breakage in line! I sleep with braids every night, and wear them or a hair clamp bun during the day, I have very brittle hair, and it gets tangled extremely easily, one night without braids and I get mats, which break ALOT while you brush them out. I don’t have the best hair genetics but I’ve managed to keep my hair growing about 15cm the last year, it’s soft and shiny, and boy with extra greasy blond hair, that’s not easy. You don’t have to wear your hair in styles all the time, honestly you could go with just the night, but I like my braids and I like to think they help☺️

Can you address how to care for and style naturally curly or wavy hair? I love my natural waves, but it's hit or miss on getting a consistent style. I already use your recommended products and have seen a tremendous improvement in the health of my hair. Now I just need a nudge in the right direction on the steps to style.

I always had very healthy, long, strong hair. I am now 51 and noticing my hair is not as thick and some split ends. I have been following your trinity triangle for many years. How do I continue having healthy, strong, long hair as I am perimenopause and want to continue having healthy hair. I am afraid of hair thinning and dry hair because of hormones changes.

My hair has been looking so much better after changing to your recommended hair care routine for coarse hair. My hair is a bit different than most Asian hair -- it's coarse and (gasp) it's not stick straight! Using the leave-in conditioner and the heat protection is a game changer for me especially as I like using a flat iron.😁

Hi Chris, your videos are freaking fantastic! I’m growing out my hair from postpartum hair loss and finding all your advice really helpful. I have 2 quick questions: 1) do you have an opinion on hair vitamins like Viviscal? Helpful or just marketing BS? And 2) can you ever do a video comparing all the different hair bonding formulas? I know Olaplex is the big one but now there’s K18, Epres, Redken has one etc. Is there one you recommend over the others for addressing damage?

Great video! I have long, coarse hair, which I wash once a week; do I need to be applying the Olaplex no.3 to relatively clean hair? I don't use a lot of products, so don't have too much in the way of build-up by the end of the week, but I obviously want the Olaplex to penetrate the hair properly.

This is true. The number one thing that will prevent everyday damage is protective styling. Wear braids and updos more often and you can beat that point where it "stops growing"
