Hey I’m just throwing in with others I see that suffer from dandruff/dermatitis. I would like to see what you think/recommend. I bought the trinity pack and just started it. I’m mixing in my anti-fungal nizoral (not otc) when I shampoo. For any other sufferers on here I’ll post how it works. Also wanted to thank you for your videos! I never knew how to properly take care of my hair/scalp. I didn’t know about massaging the scalp to clean it and it definitely is helping. I also use fluocinide around the scalp edge. Good luck to everyone on here.

You are my saving grace!! I am so glad I came across your videos!! I've learnt more from you than years and years of going to different hair salons that always promise the best products lol and believe me it's been a disheartening quest! I suffer from complex PTSD so there is strike 1 against me due to having extreme cortisol levels and certain medications. Second strike is I have fine hair, and from watching your videos everything I've been told I need to do has been COMPLETELY wrong! I thought things might have been looking good as I had my son a year ago and my hair is the longest it's been in years not to mention thick, now I know they say you lose all the locks you gained when pregnant but I didn't experience that too badly and I've still kept the length. It's just in the last month I've noticed when i was my hair now, I'm getting clumps of hair coming out as well as when I brush my hair. It's absolutely killing me because it makes my already low self esteem even worse which is just the fun of complex ptsd (just in case, that was sarcasm lol). Thank you for the work you do! I Love your videos and will probably have watched all by the end of the day lol! 😅 Kate

Just tried Moroccan last night. I have really dry hair from Colorado dry air and the well water being high In minerals. It seems to have helped take the weird residue I’m left with after showering. I’ll only use this once a week. I also learned using glycerin based hair products in dry climate will suck the moisture right out as humid weather would lock it in. Interesting! I won’t be using glycerin products anymore. Oh! I bought a water filter for shower and that also helps clean hair better

If you're not supposed to shampoo your lengths, how do you remove the buildup from them so your hair can absorb moisturizer?
@Anniakarenjina2 жыл бұрын
When you put the shampoo on your roots, the product will deep clean your scalp, which is the area with the most build up and with SEBUM, which is way less on your lenghts. When you rinse the hair, the foam from the shampoo migrates on your lenghts and it cleanses them as well on its way. So, basically, you start where there is the most buildup(scalp) and the shampoo does its job where there is less buildup too(on the lenghts and ends). If you insisted on putting more shampoo on the lenghts, you would strip your hair unnecessarily and dry it out. If you see a very noticeable amount of buildup on your lenghts that exists because of your hair products, it means they aren’t suited for your hairtype or they just aren’t good.

I’m having the hardest time with keeping my hair from feeling like cotton. It’s so hard to run my fingers through my hair. Not normal at all. I think it’s the horrible central florida water. I’ve used the Redken clarifying shampoo, pureology leave in conditioner and olaplex oil and nothing really keeps it from the weird effect that happens to my hair. For example if i throw my hair over and brush my hair and then flip my hair back and try to run my finger through it, it’s like thick cotton. I never use styling products, i air dry. Hey ! Loveeee your videos and just ordered Redken cleansing cream on your suggestion. My question is about the using order. So I should Use Clarifying shampoo first , then right after it a wash with my regular shampoo and then conditioner in the last. Am I right?
@melaniephillips85566 ай бұрын
Yes clarifying shampoo first. You want to get that oil and junk out first so you can remove it and rinse it away. Then with your second wash it'll be easier to wash off the rest of your hair and rinse that buildup down the drain. Using the stronger one first allows the product to work like it should and have nothing (like other shampoos) preventing your clarifying shampoo from getting into your scalp. I had a similar question because I was using a bond repair hair growth shampoo with a purple toning shampoo. The way it was explained to me is if I used the purple first then that buildup would be left on my scalp/ hair preventing the hair growth and repairing ingredients from penetrating my hair follicles and scalp by using it second.

Hey Chris We have really hard water where i live and i have itchy scalp and thick dry, tangled hair. Would it be good if i wash my hair once a week with a clarifying shampoo on the first wash and a sulfate free shampoo on the second one?

Try ion hard water shampoo. Clarifying won't work, or l'oreal now has one for hard water

Please please pleaaase, I beg of you to do a video on how to get minerals and build up from hard water out of your hair. I have eczema and low thyroid function so my scalp is insanely dry. Not too mention the super hard water where I live. Please help a sista out! I use Malibu clarifying, it helps but I need a better solution for my scalp.. thank you!

I actually notice that I have to use clarifying shampoo 2 times a week and then I follow up with a deep conditioning hair mask. Then when I style I use redkin acidic leave in conditioner even putting a bit on my scalp. Then I hit my lower mids and ends with morrocan treatment oil to lock in the moister like you say to do. I can go 3-4 days with clean hydrated hair. If I notice my hair is slightly dry on the ends I put it little bit more of the redkin leave in conditioning concentrate. Thanks for teaching us how to have healthy hair. My hair has greatly improved do to watching your videos. Is it OK though for me to use clarifying shampoo 2 times a week? My scalp seems to be the healthiest doing that... but I also really make sure to hydrate it with conditioners.

The redken clarifying shampoo has chelating ingredients in it, and redken says its meant for cleaning out hard water and pollutants, so which is it?
@jimbearone3 ай бұрын
Clarifying shampoo removes surface residues like hairspray, styling gels and shampoo / conditioner build-up and chelating shampoos remove minerals, metals & medications from the inside of the hair

I have no idea how to recognize hard water from, ahhh soft, and what it does and how to solve it. Hope you talk about it sometime. Yes, I know there are shower attachments but who lies and who doesn’t is impossible to know -unless you mention it please.

@blowoutprofessor what do you mean when you say only use clarifying shampoo on 1st wash & normal shampoo 2nd wash? Do you literally mean wash it twice on the same day, or the 2nd wash that week?
@melaniephillips85566 ай бұрын
Wash twice in the same day/ wash. It's called double washing and is extremely recommended with any kind of shampoo you use. Just don't double wash with clarifying. Clarify first then wash with your other shampoo right after you wash with your clarifying wash then condition

I have thick coarse color treated hair but I get hair Botox and keratins done so it’s more on the medium side now that it’s tamed lol I wash my hair once a week. But I find my hair to get very flat up top. Would you suggest I use a clarifying shampoo and then a regular moisture one or a clarifying shampoo and a volume one? I don’t want to over dry my hair since I have a balayage .

I’d never heard of a chelating shampoo before, thanks! How often should they be used in a hard water area?
@BlowoutProfessor2 жыл бұрын
Hey! "Hard water" is a spectrum so it really depends on how loaded your water is with minerals. I'd start with once a week... But play around to see if you can go longer/shorter between uses to match it to the mineral levels in your water 👍

Such a great video! So if I understood correctly, on a day-to-day basis I do 2 washes with non-clarifying pro shampoo, then once a week I do a first wash with clarifying shampoo, the second with the non-clarifying pro shampoo. Is this correct? Thanks in advance!
@hannahgleason9885 Жыл бұрын
I’ve been watching so many of his videos trying to find the answer to this too! It’s not super clear but my impression is that he’s actually suggesting using a clarifying shampoo on the first wash every time, but only washing every 3-4 days.

No just use a clarifying shampoo when your hair is REALLY dirty and has a lot of buildup. Can be once a month or twice a month. When it's so bad you can't go your normal wash cycle without or getting nasty earlier than usual
@melaniephillips85566 ай бұрын
I use mine when I pre oil my scalp which I do about 1-2 times a month

Hello Chris! So i have extremely fine, thin, and oily/greasy hair. I have tried to stop washing as often, so i wash about every 2 days, but my hair is still suuuuppeerrr greasy the morning after i wash my hair (i wash my hair at night). I shampoo twice, and i use a clarifying shampoo about every 10 days. I don’t use any styling products except dry shampoo and my regular shampoo and conditioner. If you could please help me with dealing with my super greasy hair, and how to prevent it from getting so greasy so fast that would be amazing!

I wash my hair in the mornings... But at night before i go to bed I use dry shampoo. I also sleep on silk pillowcases, which he has said meh to, but it has worked for me.

@@michalacameron5608 i always try to put dry shampoo in at night, a couple hours after i wash my hair, so that it is completely air dried, and then i go to bed. I sleep on a satin pillowcase, which i think are pretty similar, but my hair is still super greasy/oily and im not sure what else to do.

Hey Kenna! if the hair feels oily within 24 hours it's almost always because it wasn't fully clean in the first place. Take a look at my video "How to wash hair so it stays clean" for some tips. You also HAVE to be using a professional shampoo. Drugstore brands will not get your hair fully clean :)

@@kennahagan7973 I feel the struggle! I will say, after watching Chris' videos... I learned I was washing wrong. I was using Kristen Ess from Target and only doing the shampoo once. I switched it up to Olaplex like he mentioned bc my hair also never grows past my shoulders and started washing twice. I can see a huge difference. But I still wake up greasy the next day if I dont sleep with dry shampoo. What shampoo are you using?

@@BlowoutProfessor Thank you for responding! I always wash my hair 2 times, and make sure i have lots of suds and an even lather, but yet it still gets greasy! I am using the drugstore brand called “hask” right now, and i’m using the tea-tree invigorating shampoo and conditioner. Chris, can you explain what a chelating shampoo is please? Was experiencing over production of sebum and needing daily washes then switched to professional shampoo that was too drying. Now my scalp has some kind of dead skin like buildup and my hair is shedding from the follicle and it feels super dry at the ends. Using only shampoo, conditioner and leave in. However some thing isn't quite right. The scalp is itchy and the buildup kinda goes away with a clarifying shampoo every 2 weeks but can't strike the right balance for moisture and manageability. Wash and go styling type 2b hair. Can look 2c when it's healthy. Please help! 4:45
