They are the band that was calling out venues for taking merch cuts and all that! Great guys, great band. Saw them on the Erra - Pull From the Ghost tour last month and they were absolutely bonkers. They closed with Akudama and their merch guy threw out a bunch of plastic beach balls into the crowd. It was nuts.

This album hit me so hard first time I experienced it. I have lost both mom and dad because they past away for natural causes and my ex room mate who was the son of my fathers widow and a Brother to me, tried to commit suicide, he failed but was in a coma for 3 weeks, he is now alive but his brain was reseted basically has to relearn to move, walk, talk and we cant even talk to him because they want to focus on the medical progress on him. So this album just came at the perfect time, I suffered from a lot of mental abuse from my father so Akudama/Restricted felt personal "Off with their heads" "predator, now prey", the lost and sensation of feeling hopeless and the fact that I am not coping I am just angry and pissed and wanna brake everything, but trying to be better for those people that love me. Edit: the piano you added blended so well with the ending that I thought it was part of the album and the whole message at the end, much love and respect to you Drew.

You're such a pure soul. This channel is already helping a lot... Probably to a lot more people than you know. I've been going through a rough patch for the last year or so. Even having heavy suicidal thoughts in the last few months, going down a spiral of alchohol and solitude... And finding bad people to hang out with... Usually with heavy alcohol involved. But just watching content creators that I love, both on Twitch and KZbin, you included, has helped a lot. Watching your reactions to some songs, or watching your opinions shift while listening to an album has made me feel very positive at times. I'm starting to feel better this last week, have cut off alcohol and cigarettes completely... And have stopped going out to bars with no purpose in mind. So yeah. Thank you a lot for doing this and being who you are.

In regards to Golden Fate; Isolate, it’s the third song in a series about Sabian’s friend who passed away. It comes from different perspectives. Isolate being from Sab’s perspective. The first 2 are from the friends perspective of his own suicide, and I’m fairly sure the second one is from the family’s/friends perspective

This was one of my favorite albums of 2020 even before i actually delved into the lyrics. But after a few listens I decided to look into it deeper and i loved it even more. It's such a brilliant way to show a different side of grief. I'm personally a very angry person, so when things are "bad" or whatever I very rarely get sad, i get angry. After reading the lyrics I 100% felt more connected to the album simply because I could in a sense relate. I've thankfully never had to go through anyone close to me commiting suicide but I do know that the first emotion I would have would be anger. I don't like that about myself but it's true, and this album made me feel like at least i'm not the only one, you know? Brilliant album imo. Their recent split EP with Holding Absence is also fantastic and I urge you to check it out at least in your own time. Only 4 tracks but they're all killer. Great reaction mate.

You know, personally i listen to the ambient music after complete heaviness and pure anger and it helps me to let some emotions go, this choice to make the last track emotional or calm after "the city of breakdowns" is brilliant. Talking about Alpha Wolf they've got a recent Split-EP with Holding Absence and i was really surprized that both of my favorite but a completely different bands are making EP together and mixing it with both of their sounds in some tracks

Trathnona maith, m'chara. The barrage of batterings from this album is like Optimus Prime standing on a building and shitting slabs of Cybertron steel onto passers by below. I know you listened to 90s metal back in the earlier times of yer reactions, and wondering how some of say, Pantera would appeal to you nowadays, since you've really gotten a grip on some of the even heavier side of metal since. Pantera's " Vulgar display of Power" is full of melodic power heavy grooves. It hit 30 years young this year, and y'mite like it.

This album was and still is one of my favourites. It goes soooo damn hard both instrumentally and lyrically. The thing I love the most about them is actually Lochie, and how he vocalizes. He's one of the easier harsh vocalists to understand imo, which makes their music so much more enjoyable for me. But that aside, this honestly came at a weird time because literally just the other day I was thinking how much I really just hate existing and ended up venting to a friend lol I mean I still hate existing besides the point lol 😂 Shit's rough and it's nice that you've brought it up in the end and even opened up yourself as an outlet for those who need. Also, as a side note, bands and albums/songs like these are why I *haaaaate* when people say "devil's music", "it's just screaming and noises how do you listen to this garbage", and other such stupid things. Like yea it's not for everyone, but god damnit this kind of music is why a lot of people are probably still alive, and why they maybe feel a little less alone in such a cold world.

Drew was definitely partial to the slam and bounce of the hardcore riffing here. I feel Knocked Loose would be a great band for him to eventually dive into. They've got similarly massive riffs but their song structures and sense of rhythm are a little more unpredictable and chaotic. As someone who is quite well versed with the metalcore / hardcore scene, Knocked Loose would be my pick for the band with the most impactful drops. Thanks for the enjoyable content Drew!
