It was! But don't get your hopes up to much or you might get let down. Definitely could be a modern classic. Just because it balances tone pretty well. And doesn't make as many strangely out of place jokes. Don't get me wrong they still make jokes but they feel like they fit and not exactly forced, some feel forced but not a lot of them.

I trust what this man says, hes never steered me wrong in these ratings. I do hope he'd stream more frequently though, but of course only when its convenient for him. My experience would be way different, in the UK they dont do popcorn buckets or special merch in theatres, its literally get ticket, wait till showtime, and watch, think and hang around and loiter with people. Not as intresting as other countries make a movie going experience.

This is a GREAT Family film, a nice end to Summer. If you Like the character and his interpretations throughout the different TV shows you'll LOVE him here. The Story acts as a SOLID introduction to the character but having known the Scarabs REACH background from the comics i would have liked for it to be addressed more in the movie, however they do clarify its an alien which is fine but a minor gripe. Overall EZ 9/10 minor faults but i like Blue beetle as a character and this film does him JUSTICE! A shame there's not a lot of marketing because of the Writer/Actor Strike as i’m sure this would have performed better box office wise.

I saw it last night, I really really enjoyed this movie all the way through. It was super fresh, it reminded me of Iron Man a lot and to me that’s great, Xolo Maridueña was awesome. The movie was hitting on all emotions, I was holding back tears. This makes me very excited for the DCU and it’s future.

Just watched it last night, very entertaining, loved it. It was different, a different and refreshing approach, a lot of comics flicks recently looked the same. One of the best super hero flicks, Xolo great actor and very likable, not sure why it’s not making that much money? I say it was the marketing and why they released it in August? Walking out of the theatre though, I knew it was going to become one of my all time favorite super hero movies of all time. It has its problems; but god damn I can't help to look past them and see this movie for what it truly is- a fun adventure with Blue Beetle, Jaime, and his family!! 9.5/10

I know this movie is the under dog of the summer, but against all odds I hope it does well. Blue Beetle has always been one of my favorite dc characters, especially in injustice 2, he was my main when that game came out. Blue Beetle's design, powers, abilities, and overall concept is so cool and fun, and as a chicano myself, I love that this movie is representing us on the big screen, so I think this character has a lot of worth and potential.

As a Mexican American this movie hit so close to heart with show casing a Mexican family and their unity! The dialog was the best! It actually showed things that are said in a Mexican house hold, especially his uncle Rudy and the dad! And the chapulin cameo just made this 100 percent better. I did not expect for it to be this good! 8.5/ 10 . I wish it was a little bit longer in some scenes

Love the latino-representation in this film,the marketing was kinda non-existent but I had an early screening also and it was mind-blowing.Action,Emotion and a win for DC indeed!

The cast's performances were very engaging and comedic timing was great. The mix of both English and Spanish was a nice inclusion. I liked this aspect of characters using their native tongue in films like Shang Chi and Wakanda Forever so it was nice to see DC take that aspect and apply it to their own hero. My favourite characters were of course Jaime/Xolo whoI thought captured his personality extremely well, highlighted his stunt/martial arts background from his workings from the TV show Cobra Kai and his development through the film is executed very well. His BUSTER SWORD moment was fan service at its finest and his powerset and abilities were on the money extremely varied and could literally come up with any weapon. Rudy played by George Lopez was FANTASTIC incredibly hilarious and loved his conspirist personality, Milagro played by Belissia was very fun to watch. I liked her a lot and this role for her was really good. She plays off Jaime well and I did buy the fact they could be siblings, she has some great scenes in terms of emotion too. I also liked his love interest Jenny played by Bruna Marquezine she's simply gorgeous in this and she plays off the cast well and has some good scenes with Victoria played by Susan Sarandon who made a good villain the same with Carapax/Raoul possibly even more compelling as he acts as a foil to Jaime and his family, his origin is also interesting but won't spoil it. Also the ongoing joke with Jenny being Jaimes sugar mommy was again hilarious and the build up of their relationship was good to see.

I've been following 3C Films since the days of 5cream and he's yet to steer me wrong. Even if you're not a fan of previous DC films, go see Blue Beetle! For a film that was originally destined for HBO Max, they absolutely crushed it, specifically with the practical and VFX! I know this film was shot before Gunn took over DC, but I really hope films like Blue Beetle are what we can expect to see in the future. Great story, amazing acting and performances, solid world building, emotional moments and most importantly, representation. Not to mention, it's just a fun movie. I fully support the current strike, I just wish the entire cast of Blue Beetle could be celebrating publicly right now, they deserve to.

Gunn said that as not to tank the movie--something Zaslav should've done with regards to the previous ones; not announce Gunn until the whole former regime slate was finished. Not messed around with reshoots/etc. Let things play out, then bring in Gunn, then make the announcements, then thank everyone for their work previous. If this movies does well, Gunn may bring it in, if it doesn't--and feels like the old regime to some moviegoers, he'll quietly put it waaaay on the back burner and continue with his original lineup.

I'm really eager to see a superhero movie featuring a college grad. Just someone actally finding the hard, adult side of life.
